The food is VERY good, but if they
have a band that night, do NOT eat dinner inside if you are hoping to have any sort of conversation We left early and hoarse."

Tried the Sangria after a hot day.
Although I usually prefer wine, this was refreshing and went well with a light dinner. Had some new flavors of tapas, very tasty, albeit a bit rich. I think the menu has new and improved selections. Taberna is a dependable treat."

I was really excited to eat at
Taberna after *thoroughly* enjoying Más in Albuquerque. Unfortunately, Taberna was a complete let-down. From a vegetable paella that was 99% rice to bread that was hard and pretty tasteless, I find it hard to believed that the executive chef of Taberna is the same as the one at Más. What a disappointment."

Food excellent . Ambiance
wonderful. Jazz trio great. Felt like NYC!!"

If you're looking for Tapas in
Santa Fe, Taberna has really unique and generous varieties. Then, be sure to top off your meal with a really awesome selection of Sherries. Great taste of Santa Fe at Taberna!"

Excellent tapas, service was great
/ friendly and attentive, our party of 4 had a great dinning experience- can't wait to return."

This quaint gem transports you to
any fine sidewalk cafe in Spain or Portugal."
Dined on 7/3/2014
Great food - have been twice and
planning on returning. If you are unsure about wine, entree, or dessert just ask the wait-staff. Never been steered wrong. Perfect casual dining."

I am from DC and have dined here
three times in the past year. I love tapas and in DC have the benefit of dining at the incomparable tapas establishments of Jose Andres. While I would never expect Taberna to reach that level, the food here is simply...and consistently...bad. Tapas are best when simple. Here, patatas brava are paired with a truly disgusting roe aioli and the potatoes are limp and yet overcooked. If its a fail on a simple, classic standard, it only gets worse as the kitchen attempts to be even more "creative." The admirable chef of this place has created an additional outpost in Albuquerque, but he needs to get back into this kitchen. Quickly."

We had a great dinner dining
outdoors at La Taberna. We happened to be there on "Paella Tuesday". For $20 dinner consisted of a choice of 3 different paellas: traditional, vegetarian, and one with ham, pork, and chorizo, a great house salad and a choice of desserts. The food was very, very good and the wine that the server suggested complemented it perfectly. The service was impeccable and the ambience superb for our first night in this beautiful city."

This place has a great wine list
and the menu has a little something for everyone."
Dined on 6/23/2014
The food and wine were expensive
for what we got, but it was very nice and the food was good."
Dined on 6/21/2014
A tasty meal, wine and tapas. Low
key and repeatable."
Dined on 6/20/2014
The food and the staff are
outstanding. This was our second trip over a 2 year period and it was just as great as the first visit. I have tried several dishes and they were also excellent. Great wine list with outstanding Spanish wines. The staff are very knowledgable and helpful about the food and wine. This is one of the best restaurants in Santa Fe and much more enjoyable than some of the more expensive options."
Dined on 6/19/2014
From the owners of La Boca comes
another stellar restaurant. All the dishes were delicious and creative. Our waiter Matt, is probably the best waiter we have ever had in Santa Fe. Even brought a water bowl for our dog without even asking."
Dined on 6/15/2014
La Taberna is the perfect place
for a later dinner hour and live music on Friday night. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and we enjoyed the outdoor patio where we could see and enjoy the guitarist on the stage inside. We selected a rose from the wine specials and a few of the tapas including Serano ham wrapped asparagus, beet salad, grilled shrimp and potatoes. Everything was served hot and delicious. We finished off our meal with the vanilla bean ice cream with caramel topping. Our compliments to Paul Caruso, the owner, chef and staff!"

The good was good though not
great. W just couldn't see paying $12 for each small appetizer or tapa. "
Dined on 6/5/2014
This is not the place to come if
you don't have a lot of time. It is a great place to go with friends you haven't seen for awhile. I love the idea of tapas. It makes me try unusual things. We asked the waitress for recommendations and everything she suggested was very good. I do wish she had checked back with us more often. I must have finished my espresso 10 minutes before the dessert finally arrived at the table! Overall, the food is great, the patio pleasant, but the staff needs to be little more attentive. "

New menu and new addictions! Food
is only rivaled by the service. Wonderful, wonderful."
Dined on 6/1/2014
Food for the most part was average
and over-priced. Service was extremely slow--2 hours for basically a 2 course dinner!. Don't go if you're very hungry."
Dined on 5/27/2014
We tried four different dishes.
All were good but two were standouts. The waiter was extremely friendly and offered great service. We will go again!"
Dined on 5/26/2014
I had heard a lot of great things
about Taberna and was excited to finally get a chance to go, but I found it quite disappointing. Some of the menu is a duplicate of La Boca. The appetizers had been prepared much earlier and were not fresh. The other dishes were okay, but nothing great or memorable (honestly, I can't even think of what I ate!). The wine by the glass was also decidedly average. The desserts sounded so uninteresting I went to another restaurant later for dessert. In general, nothing was bad, but really just nothing was great. The whole meal was decidedly mediocre. There are many better options in Santa Fe. "
Dined on 5/24/2014
The food was good. Service was
spot on. Someone needs to install a dimmer switch, it was a bit bright. "
Dined on 5/23/2014
We have been going to Taberna and
La Boca numerous times for dinner or happy hour and always enjoyed it. The food is consistently good, the people are fun, and the place is alive. This time we indulged in a full dinner and assembled a long line of tapas. And when we needed to decide for dessert, we picked another round of the artichokes, they were just so good."
Dined on 5/22/2014
Taberna La Boca serves up the most
delicious food to be found anywhere! The lunch special is an especially attractive deal - 3 courses for $17."
Dined on 5/20/2014
Was really surprised - had wanted
to eat here. Was with a friend and ordered 3 plates - all recommended. I'm quite familiar with food from No. Spain. The food was bland. We couldn't eat much of it. We paid the bill and went to another restaurant."
Dined on 5/17/2014
Overpriced everything! Food was
fair! Drinks were expensive and glasses of ice! We went because we had a groupon which in the fine print we couldn't use after 5 on a Saturday. Not a nice place...hectic, over crwoded! if you want a loud, small portion, overpriced place for tapas feel free to leave all your money at Taberna."
Dined on 5/17/2014
We've dined at Taberna and it's
sister restaurant La Boca many times, and generally consider them to be among the best if not the best in Santa Fe, but there were a few bumps in the road this time. Elapsed time between our first two courses was way too long - we weren't watching the clock but it had to be at least 20 minutes. When the second courses finally arrived our ensalada de manzana was missing the pomegranate seeds and came across kind of bland and watery, almost as if the lettuce hadn't been rinsed thoroughly. Service was a bit distracted throughout, but the artichokes, garlic shrimp, and pots de creme were all excellent as usual."
Dined on 5/4/2014
A great selection of unusual small
dishes for all tastes"

we very much enjoyed our meal at
Taberna. it had been a long time since we ate at a tapas-style place and the variety of plates offered was excellent. each one we tried was so good! we will definitely add this restaurant for our places to eat when we come to santa fe."
Dined on 5/3/2014
Amazingly good small plates, a
very interesting Spanish wine list, attentive and pleasant servers. One of my personal favorites in Santa Fe."
Dined on 4/27/2014
My mom and I chose Santa Fe for a
mother/daughter trip. The Taberna was exceptional. We enjoyed the almond encrusted baguette with crab and avocado, salt Cod croquette, grilled artichoke with pesto, goat cheese and serrano ham, scallop stuffed pasta with manchego cheese sauce, truffle fries and pork shoulder on baguette with peppers and serrano ham. Our only disappointment were the truffle fries. The fries themselves were limp and only warm. If they had been hot and crisp we would have loved them. The rest of the food was truly divine. We also enjoyed live guitar music and a great ambience. The dessert of Basque gateau filled with custard and covered in cherries was a perfect end to a great meal. Thanks!"

The tapas at Taberna were tasty.
Outstanding service. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is small. Prices are not bad. We had 4 beers, 5 tapas, and shared dessert, all for $90, and we were full! "

We had a reservation for 6:30, but
got there a little early. It's a small place and it did fill up. We were able to pick some items off the Happy Hour menu and were very pleased. The fried garbanzos were scrumptious and the beet salad very good. We also split a plate of the codfish cakes-delicious. The only "disappointment" was the Piernitas-barbecued chicken legs. They were okay, but not as good as everything else. My wife ordered the Keftas and I the Cojonudo. Both were excellent. A great place for 4 or more people so you can really graze!"

A crowd pleaser with a changing
and always interesting menu."

Three women friends and I went to
you establishment to celebrate one of our 60th birthdays. We found it lively, creative and a unique food experience. We are glad we chose it for such a special occasion for a dear friend, and will definitely be back!"
Dined on 4/5/2014
eat at both, this one and sister
restaurant Boca. Taberna was good and is probaly better for the younger crowd which we were not. Music was nice but had to change tables as we were right next to the stage and that was too loud. Food was good, the cocktails were unusual. We like the Tapas system of several small items. All of which were good; the pork was a lttle over done. Fun place. Service was young energetic and very friendly and good. Value is better then sister restaurant Boca but for the older crowd I recommend La Boca (just around the corner)"

Always something interesting and
delicious. One of Santa Fe's best spots for a light meal or an innovative dinner."
Dined on 3/31/2014
We've been to Taberna and La Boca
a couple times previous and that we went again pretty much tells all you need to know - it's very good and keeps us coming back. The grilled artichokes with goat cheese are faves for us, as is the blood sausage."
Dined on 3/29/2014
We had a wonderful dinner of about
3 tapas and then a small paella. We caught some of Happy Hour prices for wine and a couple of tapas. Good deal. The live music began as our beautiful paella arrived. We were right next to the 2 guitars and harp and still could easily talk to each other. It was beautiful background music. The place was really busy when we left around 7:45. Service was good, they could have used another server that night but we were in no rush. Always a wonderful experience here at Taberna."
