Diner Reviews
  • "An excellent. Brunch, as we came towards the end not so busy and still lots of food Another great place in Phoenix the place it self is really lovely a very romantic patio and courtyard."

  • "Have loved this restaurant for years but a relaunch has brought a new menu. It is a smaller menu and less choice. Plate was so hot that by the time I came to eat my food the sauce had dried on the plate, the vegetables had become tough and the whole thing was tasteless until the next re launch we will not visit our favourite location in Scottsdale. T Cooks you must try harder with so much competition around !"

  • "I've had many great experiences at T Cooks. T Cooks used to be my favourite restaurant in Phoenix. This is my first visit since their renovation and a new chef. While the food quality was good, the menu was boring. The service used to be top notch and the servers highly professional. Unfortunately they have lost their polish. The servers' uniform standards need to be improved, the service was not attentive or professional. I fear we've lost a great gem."

  • "Oh my! I was so excited to try the new menu at T Cook's! My family has had many celebrations there, including a wedding reception and some great milestone birthdays. All I can say is: what a disappointment! There were so many odd food pairings - vanilla "scented" onions for one. I had the chicken which was swimming in some sort of olive oil - I managed to pick around it, but as much as I love olive oil, I don't want my food drowned in it. My husband had salmon - nothing special (I make it better at home) and our guests, heck what does it matter? Nobody had a good meal. It's a pretentious menu that unfortunately is not appealing. Just give me high quality, normal food & drop the haute attempts!"

  • "This has been one of my favorite restaurants since I lived here 15 years ago. I was back about eight years ago and it was still a great dining experience. I won't go back after this visit. The service was almost non- existent. He completely forgot to order our appetizer, brought double the number of servings of soup ordered, and tried to make it up by giving us desserts. No wonder the bar and half the tables were empty!"

  • "When my out of town friends suggested that they wanted to be taken somewhere nice for lunch, I thought of T Cooks, my sister and I took my mom there for her birthday in January. As soon as we pulled in they were impressed and in tranced with the grounds. The brunch was excellent and the wine list was impressive to these friends who regularly go to culture events in L.A. We had a wonderful time and will most certainly go again when they are in town next."

  • "T. Cooks has always been one of my favorite spots, and it's new look is very inviting. Service was excellent, as was the food. The outdoor secluded patio is such a pleasure."

  • "Had not been to this lovely and famous spot for a number of years, but so glad I chose it this time for out of town guests. It is as wonderful as it has always been, a beautiful touch of last century Arizona with this-century creativity and flair. The service was excellent. it is always so great (but all too rare these days) when the wait staff knows the menu and the wine list inside out. Food was lovely. The AZ Republic's food critic recently "dissed" this lovely place a bit for catering too much to "the resort crowd,", but I think they have struck a great balance. Interesting and incredibly tasty without being weird. Could not have been more pleased."

  • "I've paid for top notch food in several cities, and I wasn't expecting Phoenix to stack up against the best. This restaurant was incredible. The food was amazing. It's a must try."

  • "With a heated brick patio floor in the beautiful courtyard complete with heaters and outdoor fireplace, T. Cook's also provides you with attentive, intuitive service (thank you, Chris!) and amazing food with stunning presentation. We have been to Scottsdale 3 times and T. Cook's 3 times - already looking forward to our next visit."

  • "We hosted a celebration dinner and found all to exceed expectations. We were able to sample several appetizers and entrees given the size of our party and willingness to share. The staff were fully attentive to special requests and went above and beyond to proactively accomadate. Leisurely dining with stately southwestern atmosphere makes this a great choice for a special outing."

  • "We felt we had to fight to catch our waiter. He didn't help us figure everything out and didn't offer a selection of juice or wine. The buffet table was very slow to get refills - no bagels and it slowed the line up to the table down. The new interior is very exciting. I said we would recommend the restaurant to a friend hoping the staff training would improve."

  • "The Antelope was very interesting and the cheese platter was phenomenal."

  • "Took a party of six to brunch. Mixed reviews on what they had. Great Ramos fizz. Good egg dishes. Some liked and some didn't like French toast. On addition to ala carte menu, they serve a cold buffet which includes crab and shrimp as well as salad, fruit, pastries, dessert., and other miscellaneous cold items. Shellfish seemed unseasoned. Overall, okay but not outstanding food. The atmosphere is nice. If the weather is good, ask for an outdoor table. Prices were normal for a weekend brunch and the cold buffet is $19."

  • "Daniel was Great!! His menu Descriptions made us salivate with anticipation we took all his recommendations and did the Tartar and Foie Gras then for dinner had the Antelope it was mild tender and Fantastic my Wife had the Dry aged NY WOW that all we could say Thank you Daniel and Royal Palms for making my Wife's Birthday a special one"

  • "We celebrated my birthday at T Cooks Kitchen and had a wonderful night. We got there a little early and had a drink in the bar. Our dinning experience was great too. The menu is good but somewhat limited. Especially in the appetizers/salads. Our entrees were mouth watering fabulous. The details and flavors are as good as you'll find in the valley. The dessert was our biggest disappointment. We choose a chocolate type melody, with a type of butter brittle. The serving was small and the chocolate and small angel food type cake pieces dry. I wouldn't recommend it. The service was exceptional with Robert knowing the menu well and had a great personality. It was a lovely night and the atmosphere is outstanding."

  • "We had dinner at T. Cook's to celebrate my wife's birthday last Friday. The wait staff was prompt and attentive but for some reason the food took time to be prepared and served. Recognizing the effort to prepare each meal as ordered makes this delay from ordering to service understandable. The mean was outstanding. I had the Colorado lamb and it "melted" in my mouth. My wife had the Steelhead Salmon and enjoyed it but not likely to order it again. The wine list was extensive and offered plenty of options. We chose a Spanish red and it was very good. The big negative was the live bar music from down the hall - very intrusive and distracting. We offered our comments on the distracting music to the manager."

  • "The building was full of old world charm. The staff was courteous, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We dined outdoors where the atmosphere was lovely and warm. There was quiet music in the background which added to the ambience. It is a wonderful venue for romantic candlelight dinners."

  • "We had a large group for lunch. Upon arrival the table was already setup for the group. Service was immediate and drinks were promptly delivered. The lunch orders arrived in a timely fashion--not too long but long enough for us to chat. We will be back."

  • "What a disappointment--they took perfection and changed it, and got something much less. What used to be an amazing brunch is now just run of the mill. What a shame..."

  • "My husband and I go to T. Cooks every year for our anniversary, he proposed there, and so we've made it a tradition to keep going there. This by far, was the BEST dinner we have had there yet. The new chef is absolutely amazing, the wine pairings with the entrees and appetizers were stellar, and even the food pairings were unbelievable. Our waiter was nothing short of amazing, he really knew the menu and recommended amazing dishes. He really helped make the night special. We can't stop talking about this dinner. Definitely go and try it out!"

  • "Had a large group of 10 people, with a couple of people from out of town visiting Phoenix for the first time. Asked for a private setting and we were placed in an absolutely amazing private dining room. Impeccable service, simply amazing food. A wonderful evening that will take a long time to match."

  • "Food was great and so were the service and the setting (beautiful patio). Wine pairings by the glass suggested by our server (Robert) were spot on."

  • "Incredible decor, attentive/friendly service, and succulent menu make T. Cook's a trifecta of perfection. Was disappointed the lobster shipment did not arrive so the parsnip agnolotti with lobster was off the menu; however the sea bass was cooked to perfection and the "chocolate" dessert was tasty and perfect to share. I went with a friend but wives and girlfriends would adore this place. Lots of fireplaces and romantic nooks on the property as well in which to get lost. Chic spot that would rival the best spots in South Beach. Go - you will not be disappointed."

  • "The so-called brunch has very few things that are on a real brunch buffet. The only hot item was sausage gravy that tasted like it came straight out of a can. No egg dishes and no meats. No potatoes. Lots of prawns and crabmeat though. The desserts all looked great but tasted very blah. I can't imagine what the head chef even prepared. The line cooks probably did everything. T. Cook's has completely changed and not for the better."

  • "We love dining in T. Cook's. We try to eat there every time we come to Scottsdale. We love the ambiance, menu and service. Wish there was one like it in La Quinta, CA-our home."

  • "This is the second time my wife and i have dined here, both times the experiance was great. The only issue we had with this visti was the wind, sitting in the outside courtyard the wind wipped up and we were getting beat to death by a drape. I had to ask to be re-seated, should have just happened. Otherwise great place for special meal."

  • "Forget about fine continental dining we all cherished at T Cooks;.... it's gone. Very limited unimaginative menu. Wooden tables, no linens, bread service or offer of a pepper grinder. Knew we were in for trouble when we overheard desk manager tell a guest that we changed T Cooks...... it's now more Americanized. Filets ordered medium rare were overcooked and dried out as well as accompanying vegetables. Presentation bland and the new décor out of Alice in Wonderland."

  • "Returned to T. Cooks for the 6th time. Once again a fantastic experience. From the Valet to the after dinner drink in the outdoor fire place pit. Service was excellent but the hit of the night was the perpetration of the Branzino. I am a true lover of this Mediterranean Sea Bass and have never had one prepared this well. T. Cook is truly a favorite amongst all the great places in Scottsdale."

  • "Overall our meals were wonderful but we did have one person in our party order the lamb and found it to be fatty. She was able to cut most of the fat away but left her with little amount of lamb to eat. The waiter came back to check on us after we had finished the meal and she told him about the fat... He seem disinterested in her complaint."

  • "The review has me questioning myself. How can I rate the food, service, and ambiance as outstanding and, yet, only rate the dining experience as very good (and feel that "very good" is a generous rating)? This was our first time at T. Cooks since its remodel and change in chefs. Compared to the old T. Cooks, the new one has fewer choices on the menu and much smaller portions. The food itself was very good and the service was impeccable. You cannot beat the beauty of the setting, particularly if you sit outside while the citrus is in bloom. In the end, the new T. Cooks was disappointing only in comparison with the old T. Cooks."

It is still veery good ,but I notice a lack of professionalism that used to exist. it is subtle but noticeable a genial mitre d who remembered you of our 5 dinners 5 was very good My dinner was cold iquitely let them know an d it was corrected unfortunately it is is slipping pity"

  • "Really liked this place. Took my mom for her 84th birthday. Service was outstanding and the food was creative yet appealed to all. Suggest they removed the chefs table by the fireplace and insert several tables by the fire."

  • "This used to be a favorite spot whenever we were in the Phoenix area. After a hiatus of several years, we returned, following the reopening. The bar scene did not seem to be as vibrant, although the bartender, Charlie, was great. We missed the piano and the general energy. The food was fine and the service was equally as good. I had the beet salad which I loved and my husband had the foie gras which had a great presentation but was no more than okay. We split the lamb. Again, a nice presentation and well-prepared. We ate outdoors and the service was attentive without being intrusive. It was well-paced. We will return because it is a favorite spot and the food is interesting."
