Diner Reviews
  • "Great dining experience. The food and the presentation of the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and combination appetizer, main course, dessert special was an exceptional value."

  • "We splurged and ordered the foie gras and several appetizers along with the lamb main dish and shared among three of us. Our server was super knowledgeable and right on top of things."

  • "The service was impeccable. Always keeping an eye on us but not overwhelming. The delivery of various courses was not rushed. The cocktails were served in non traditional champagne glasses which was a turnoff. Would much prefer the traditional martini and manhattan glasses. But minor point. Meals (trout and beef tenderloin) were excellent. Love the rustic Spanish atmosphere. Everyone at the restaurant was welcoming and friendly. Good time had by all."

  • "ambience is always perfect, we had trouble understanding the host. (spoke very low) and there was a lot of noise from the bar. introduce him self.My husband and I order wine by the glass. The starter was excellent. We had the octopus. We waited what seem to be a long time for the server to come back to take our food order. We were not in a rush but still it seem long. Then our food was order. Then it seem a lifetime for the food to come out of the kitchen to the point that a female manager came with two glass of raspberry sorbet to celebrate our anniversary and told us that our food should be out shortly. a bit later the food was serve. we had the cod. it was good but not out of this world. We like T Cook's.Hope to see improvements next time."

  • "Great meal, romantic setting, intimate dining and great service!"

  • "As an long time fan of T Cooks and being my favorite restaurant in the valley, there were certain dishes I really enjoyed and looked forward to eating. The new menu is farm to table, and very fresh and healthy. The Beat salad was very good and the strawberry rubarb tart was exceptional, however our entrees both lacked flavor (Mary's Chicken and the Tenderloin)."

  • "Loved their brunch. It's a choose what you want type of brunch. So it can be a $19 brunch or a $40 brunch depending on what you're looking for. The service was excellent. The only issue we had was there was a bit of confusion at reception. We don't know what was going on but it took a good amount of time to be seated when we had reservations and there was clearly a table open right by reception which we ended up getting sat at. They did apologize. Something internal must have been going on. Anyway, after that a great time was had by all!"

  • "Appetizers were fabulous..fois gras and venison tar tar..beet salad wonderful, entrees just ok. It was like our waiter forgot us,had to flag our waiter down to get another bottle of wine. Brings the bill and asks, did you want coffee? Probably won't go back"

  • "My wife and I were finally able to take a three years past due honeymoon and spent it at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa to which T. Cook's is attached. I had emailed the local newspaper food critic about restaurants we may want to patronize during our stay. She stated that we wouldn't have to go far due to the fact that T. Cooks was attached to where we were staying. We ate there twice - breakfast and supper. Both were wonderful. The food was top notch and our servers met our every culinary experience need. I started with the venison tartare, continued with a roasted beet salad, partook in a main course of antelope cooked two ways, and then finished with a chocolate mousse dessert. By far, it was the best meal of the trip!!"

  • "T. Cook's for our 31st wedding anniversary dinner. Host welcomed us by name and warmly congratulated us on our anniversary. The waitress also knew we were celebrating (good team communication!). We wanted to order a drink and linger; felt the tiniest bit rushed at first but once we told the waitress we were in no hurry, she adjusted the pacing. Menu is not huge but offers good variety. DH had antelope steak; I had ruby trout. His portion was generous; mine was petite but I was ok with that. Flavors were divine! They have a nice "by the glass" wine list; $10-20 range. We ordered 1 dessert -- they brought it along with a special anniversary dessert -- and comped both of them. Nice touch! Not an everyday place but perfect for a special dinner."

  • "The food is always good, and Chef uses seasonal items. That's good.....but I missed the squash cream soup. Totally understandable. Service is excellent, and ambience delightful....especially if hosting someone from the Midwest or back east."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "The service is impeccable (except for a water server who seemed to be having a bad day!)--Otherwise, the meal was beautiful, tasty and perfectly portioned. I had a filet of beef and my husband had the scallops. The asparagus soup is out of this world! The bar next door is fabulous for a happy hour on Friday and Saturday there is also live music. Otherwise, sit back, relax and be pampered at T. Cook's!"

  • "The location is gorgeous and I would recommend a walk around the property after dinner. The service was excellent and the food was prepared exquisitely. Definitely great for a special occasion."

  • "We requested a quiet table for two and got the complete opposite. Our waiter was MIA and we only saw him twice, after we ordered just coffee he seemed upset that we didn't order alcohol. The crab legs were divine the last time we were there this time they were pathetic and we were seated right by the brunch table and we constantly were being bumped in the back by people going to the brunch table."

  • "Food & service is wonderful. We were there for our anniversary but unfortunately, there was a table of 4 young women and one guy who were celebrating the guy & one of the girl's engagement. They quickly became overly loud to the point where we could not enjoy an otherwise great evening. The manager failed to quiet them down and made a half-hearted apology to us. I'm sure he did not want to run the risk of them stopping their huge bar tab!"

  • "Everything was excellent. Food was outstanding and so was the service. Especially enjoyed some of the more out of the box choices like the Antelope. This place is never disappointing."

  • "My second time at T Cooks. Ordered off the menu both times, but rest the rest of my party had the buffet. Endless crab and shrimp...everyone was happy!"

  • "We spend our 29th anniversary there and the foodwas great. Nice romantic quiet place."

  • "T.Cooks went beyond my expectations by decorating the table with rose petals and extra candles and placing us in a private room. The service was perfect and kind. The food was delicious and unique. It was expensive but worth it. In comparison with other local places I would give it a 10 but we here in Scottsdale are blessed with quality food at many places as well. Try T. Cooks at Royal Palms for a romantic dinner sometime. You will have a new favorite on your list. If you need to set up a special dinner for a group talk to Lori Shapiro... she will get it just right for you."

  • " My husband and I have Been enjoying the Royal Palms for years. From the moment you walk in to T Cooks you are treated like Royalty. They have noted in the computer where you like to sit, what waiter you prefer, your wine preference, and food preferences etc.. The delicacies are out of this world! I recommend a tasting per the chef. Our waiter Robert is extremely versed in the menu, and outstanding in his service. Take the time to enjoy!"

  • "Took my parents here when they were in town and everything about the experience was truly exceptional. We came at the very end of the busiest night during Restaurant Week, when you would expect certain dishes to be sold out and the staff to be off their game, but our missing choices were generously and instantly replaced with upgrades plus bells and whistles on the house. Amazing wine pairings offered by our very professional and knowledgeable server Mike F took this fantastic culinary experience over the top. Hats off to a truly stellar operation at the Royal Palms and T Cooks. This is true warm, approachable elegance and worth the price for a special occasion."

  • "We tried T Cook's during restaurant week - the menu was interesting (who wants to pay money for something they could prepare at home) and the service from the moment we arrived was excellent! If you are a "foodie" - this restaurant is a MUST!!! The food was "mouthgasmic" - the flavors were incredible - truly delicious! Our server, Robert, suggested the perfect bottle of wine and timed the arrival of our courses perfectly - he was knowledgeable and friendly - overall excellent job! The restaurant is gorgeous - very romantic, not to mention strolling the grounds of the Royal Palms is a must - BEAUTIFUL ...and very romantic! If you love fabulous food, ambiance and service this is the restaurant for you!"

  • "The Royal Palms Resort is so lovely and romantic and eating at T.Cooks is like being on a relaxing and lovely vacation. We sat outside on the back patio with a big fireplace, their vegetable garden and the beautiful evening. We had the three course restaurant week meal, which was a fabulous deal. I had the lobster bisque, filet and the strawberry, ruhbarb crumble, all were wonderful but the lobster bisque was a particular standout. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious. Nice wine list with options at all price points. "

  • "We went during restaurant week and this is one of the most beautiful places in Scottsdale without question. Entrees are very expensive but delicious preparation of our black cod with Citrus and chorizo and beef tenderloin with Madeira sauce. Several wines by the bottle at reasonable prices though."

  • "Great food and beautiful ambiance! A highlight in Phoenix and great for special occasion."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "The food & service here was decent, but there are far better places throughout the Valley. Our group ordered various entrees (Cod, Tenderloin...) and none "wowed" us...no one exclaimed how great their food was, though it certainly was not bad food. A non-meat eater (fish only) in the group requested the cod without chorizo and the waiter made a big deal about this request and even informed us he could make the modification that evening but "on a busier night, like a Saturday, we don't do those kinds of things." What is this...Applebee's? Is the food pre-made? Such a small modification should not be a big deal at a restaurant that bills themselves as fine dining. "

  • "Not many classic venues left in Phoenix, but this is one that not only endures but keeps raising the bar. The food is outstanding. Creative, complex and elegantly served. The service from entry to departure is pleasant and goes the extra step to ensure a guests are well served."

  • "My wife and I dined at T. Cook's on our anniversary which just happens to fall on restaurant week every year. I had the lobster bisque to start and she had the beet salad. Both were superb and the beet salad was better than I ever imagined a beet salad could be. We both had the beef tenderloin as our main entry we both felt it was possibly the best steak we had ever had. "

  • "Have you ever stayed at a hotel and seek a dining experience elsewhere? Well TCooks is worth staying in the hotel to take in the dining experience. The lobster bisque and venison tartare were tasty and entrees of beef tenderloin, black cod and Mary's chicken were worth the wait. We participated in the PHX restaurant week and sampled their fine-dining experience. The only knock is the service was slow due to probably the PHX restaurant week venue. "
