T-Bar Steak & Lounge is Tony Fortuna's new spin on the classic steak house.

Chef Ben Zwicker's menu consists of raw bar that includes tartares; steak
bar that includes prime cuts and as well as tuna and salmon steaks;
appetizers are divided in classic and market driven; sauces are global and
diverse; entrees, too, present a roster of classics and new world items; and
a long, long list of sides complements every dish on the menu. T-Bar &
Lounge speaks to many tastes, from cocktail & wine lovers, to grazers and
full on steak aficionados.

  • "This was my first time at T-Bar, met a friend for lunch and the food was great and came out quickly. My only observation is that they don't seem to have their service model down. I think we had at least four different people wait on us and simple things like getting your ice tea refilled seemed to be quite confusing to the staff. I think in their attempt to be attentive something was lost in execution. Would certainly try it again."

  • "This is one of our favorite neighbor restaurants and Sunday night was a real pleasure. Normally T-Bar is very crowded and noisy, but on Sunday only about half of the tables were in use and the noise level and ambiance was quite nice. My wife and I shared the T-Bad salad which was wonderful and the bone in rib eye was a perfect medium with a hot pink center. Baked carrots and baked potato for sides completed a very nice meal."

  • "Steaks measure up to pretty much any steakhouse in the city, and are perfectly prepared. But perhaps our favorite part is the fabulous salads (kale) and sides (Brussels sprouts). You can walk out of there feeling almost healthy. It is a comfortable spot and the service is very good. Our favorite UES option."

  • "T Bar is excellent for lunch when there is virtually no bar crowd and so the noise level, which can be deafening at night, doesn't exist - so a great lunch spot. Food is always excellent. Service is good, sometime lapsing in things like refilling water glasses etc. Dinner is always good food ,but so noisy you cannot hear. We do like the restaurant a lot- food is fresh and week prepared."

The kale salad&salmon ceviche was delish. 2 of us had the filet mignon- mediocre.The risotto-fntstc.The service-waiters were hasty & a little intrusive.They lingered bhnd our chairs waiting impatiently 4 us to finish each course.They circled our table 3-4x which made us feel uncmfrtbl.They werent engaging & unfriendly, so I thought perhaps it was the practice of the retrnt. But, we noticed that this behvr was specific to our party.It felt as tho we were uninvited guests & the host wanted us 2 leave.I’m hoping it wasn’t bcus we were the only minorities n the entire rstrnt or bcus we were ordering from the $38 menu I don’t think we r going back."

  • "We went for Restaurant Week and had lunch. We chose it for location close to home, and availability of a lat-minute table on President's Day. Our expectations were highly surpassed. The decor was understated and comfortable, but elegant. The service was excellent. While nothing fancy, all the food was fresh and exceedingly well-prepared. I had the pate and the salmon; my girlfriend had the chopped salad appetizer and the salad with salmon as an entree. Both came with the same generous amount of salmon, well-seared and juicy, one of the best salmon entrees I have had at a restaurant, more surprising since this is a steakhouse. The banana desert was noteworthy. The apple crisp was average for its genre. Good wine selection. Recommended."

  • "I've been there many times for dinner and the quality of the food and service has been consistently excellent. The tuna tartare appetizer is the best I've had despite the fact that the $22.00 price tag knocked me for a loop. The small filet was lean and tasty. The French fries were worth every calorie and the martinis were as good as it gets. I requested a quiet table in the back of the restaurant, which is exactly where I was seated. The noise levels were much lower than usual and the crowd was much thinner than usual, mainly because of the February vacation break. I look forward to returning soon."

  • "Met a friend and had an enjoyable evening. Service was good though not outstanding. Enjoyed the chopped salad but the rib eye was a bit tough. I love steak and this did not meet expectations. Nevertheless, overall it is a fun place, the bar was lively and ambiance hit a good note too. We stayed a bit long and still made comfortable, not rushed. My friends shrimp cocktail was excellent and she thought her hamburger was very good too."
