One of the best ever!Swiss Chef has become one of my top 5 fave restaurants, hands down. The service was amazing to the point where Judy actually came to our table and scraped cheese from the bottom of the fondue pot for us to have! Plus, the chef seems to spend more time in the dining room with his patrons than he does in the kitchen. I've never seen a chef so hands on with his guests; he even played happy birthday on his accordian for one guest. The food, btw, is very, very excellent as well! We did the fondue and the Chef treated us to amazing pea soup. Then, cuz we raved over it, he gave us each a container of it to take home - gratis! I didn't know restaurants like this still existed! I'm a fan, I'll be back many, many times! THUMBS UP!!!!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a disappointmentWe shared (I know, I hate that word) the pork shank for 2 people. It's absolutely fantastic, as long as you're not worried about being sized out of Abercrombie and Fitch's target demographic. Perfectly cooked, the skin is crispy and the meat is tender. It's served with a mild but flavorful light brown sauce. Although you'll be tempted to pick it up and eat it like an apple, that would be bad form, so they will slice you off a hunk. I also love the pate (either alone or as part of the tray) and, though I'm not one for dessert, the chestnut vermicelli is just grand, especially with their great coffee. If you time it right, Fritz will be performing and Ueli might get up and sing with him! Overall, a delightful and friendly place.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must tryI felt like I was really in Switzerland. The one man band was great, made for a really nice atmosphere. The clam soup is delicious.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a PleasureI love going here. The steak tartar is always fabulour! Only had appitizers with a couple of drinks and we were very happy..
Speaking of drinks, I think they have upgraded their wine list as the house cab was much better then I remember it.
Also the Pate was excellent. Always a great experience with really good service.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOnly for Food LoversWe took my wife to the Swiss Chef for my wife's birthday. It was fabulous. The menu on line isn't as big as in the restaurant. They have a monthly menu that is tied into what's fresh. This month (May) it was white asparagus. There were maybe another 15 dishes emphasizing that food. They gave us the white asparagus soup just so we could try it, it was wonderful. The food was great, and the chef came out and sang happy birthday to my wife with a piece of peach pie. It couldn't have been a nicer experience.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMJust like back Home!My family was in town from Canada and we are original from Switzerland. My client told me about this place. I took my parents, my husband and my two boys. From the moment we walked in and got to speak swiss with the head chef I knew this place would be great. The waiter was very friendly and the live music was beautiful, it all made my mother home sick, she cried twice! The food was excellent. Good portion sizes but we had no left overs. Thank you Swiss Chef you will be seeing us again :))5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMthe best place!amazing place! we had a reservation for 5pm through this site even though they didn't open till 6pm! the chef open the door, they gave us drinks and a free appetizer while they rushed to hook us up! This was a Birthday dinner with my wife and they saved the day! I will be back and recommend to all my friends and family =D -guy with super long dreadlocks ;)4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMTaste of SwitzerlandGreat beer. Great food. Fantastic desserts. A family favorite for sure!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSwiss in the valleyAs good as or better than any Swiss or German restaurant in town. The only drawback is the somewhat dated and basic decor, although it is colorful. Great hospitality.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFOOD WAS FANTASTIC, THE CHIEFFOOD WAS FANTASTIC, THE CHIEF GREETED US AND TALKED TO US SEVERAL TIMES, SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT, WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. Wonderful corned beef and cabbage for St. Patricks Day (week).3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEuropean Food At It's BEST !We've followed Chef Uli for years. My husband is from Europe and just LOVES the unique and hard to find menu at this restaurant. Eisbein (boiled pork shank) is tender and fit for 2 ample meals....we always have a 'doggie bag'. I've had the Sauerbraten and filet of sole in the past. Side dishes of sauerkraut and red cabbage are truly homemade. We love this place !3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRefreshingCould not have been happier. If your looking for the hot
Transient place...go away. Swiss Chef is the real deal... All

What a funIt was crowded! What a fun night it was, busy and loud and all, food was fantastic as always, not for the thrifty pocket, but amazing food.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the best German foodThis is the best German food in town and is a darn good time thanks to the staff which includes the always present chef and owner!!! We love Swiss chef!!!!2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the roasted pork shankTry the roasted pork shank and the fondue. Absolutely great! Food is amazing, on weekends the chef and his friend play music and it is very funny. Try the raclette appetizer, the cordon bleu, the veal schnitzel and most definitely, the eisbein and pork shank. Fantastic, Fabulous food!12/14/2012 12:00:00 AMA bit of Switzerland in Los AngelesWe love this restaurant. If you are in the mood for authentic Swiss cuisine, with an outstanding menu and excellent service, this is your restaurant. If you are looking for hip, trendy, and pretentious, this is not for you. If you must have oil and vinegar with your bread, and need everything, "on the side", please, go to another restaurant. The menu reflects the best of swiss and german cuisine. Everything is cooked with fresh ingredients, and is served by lovely and trained staff. The bartenders know how to make a perfect cocktail. We used to visit this restaurant at their previous location, and were devastated when they closed. Thank goodness they are open, and serving up the same delicious recipes!12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
