What a nice surprise very good home type Swiss and other standard dishes. Good service, very dicent portions.one negative when we arrived the we were the only only ones in the restaurant hostess took much to long deciding were we should sit when she made her decision she wanted to sit us next to a large table of 10 which would be arriving in 15 minutes mind you there must be 50 empty tables. There is no reason to deal with on your arrival. Even when we left only half the tables were occupied.the very vice owner should train this hostess to smile and don't act so arrogant.again this is a very nice restaurant and I will return.

Me and my family love this place. My parents are from Switzerland, so it's a special place for them. The food is excellent, authentic, and the quality of the ingredients is exceptional. We were seated by the owner/chef Ueli when we arrived. He is very friendly and visits the table throughout the evening to see how you are enjoying the food. It's a really nice touch, one you don't really see in other restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food, excellent service, and that personal touch. All of my friends that I have introduced to this restaurant have absolutely loved it. I look forward to going there again soon!!

Finding German cuisine in Los Angeles is rare these days. The ones that existed are now mostly gone with an exception or two. Swiss Chef Ueli is the real deal, serving authentic German, Swiss and Italian dishes. The place is festive, decorated for all holidays and occasions, and Fritz plays live music from the old country. Ueli often comes out to join in in the entertaining and singing. Good food, atmosphere, and fun! No young people and their culture taking over here.

Five of us went out to dinner on a Sunday night and had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The ambiance is great, the service was wonderful, the food was excellent. We enjoyed the accordion player and the toasts and singing by the owner of the restaurant. I would recommend this lovely, lively restaurant to everyone I know. We can't wait to go back again.

Our friends were looking for a restaurant closer to home to celebrate Oktoberfest and found Swiss Chef. We'd been there several times before so were delighted to introduce them to the restaurant. The special menu was intriguing and interesting. We all enjoyed it! The entertainment was an added bonus. My husband hadn't heard some of the selections since his US Army days in Germany. Thanks and continued success!

We went there as a group of 6 for Oktoberfest. Another amazing dinner with friendly staff - ask for RIGO as your waiter and make sure to say hello MONIQUE behind the bar and JUDY (the Chef's wife) at the front desk - they are THE BEST! Another commenter mentioned that CHEF UELI is legendary in the Valley. He does it all and is extremely interested in making sure you get EXACTLY what you want. If you order something and its not what you anticipated, mention it and they'll all make sure you get something special. Presently they have Spaten on draft for Oktoberfest - by itself, that's reason to make your reservation now! Great food, amazing draft beers and staff that treat you as though you are part of their family.

He & the staff make you welcome & feel right at home - like they've known you for years! Celebrate your birthday there so Chef Eulie will play his accordion & sing to you. Kids are welcome & encouraged to sing & dance along with the entertainment. The music is performed by Fritz, a great entertainer. There are always surprise long-timers who tell wonderful stories or let the kids blow the Alpine Horn. You can choose to dine quietly on your own too, but trust me, you'll want to join in the fun!

This restaurant is unique in it's European atmosphere. There was an accordion and keyboard player the night we went for some lively entertainment. That said the pork schnitzel was kind of flavorless and the green and red pureed veggies unappealing. Other dishes seemed a little better - the big pretzel was delicious.

This is where I go to get an excellent schnitzel, good pretzel, and a decent streudel. The portions are large, but priced accordingly (a bit expensive). The waitstaff was professional and attentive. The food hasn't changed in forever, but since I go there so rarely, that's what I need. No ambiance whatsoever, so go for the food and have a drink.

Parking lot valet only, interior decor didn't feel "European" more like a 50's American diner theme, but live music was entertaining. Nice to see chef circulate and the waiters were helpful explaining entrees. The food was okay, not spectacular. Cordon Bleu was greasy. Amount on plates was plentiful, but bland. Maybe due to night before Mother's Day, but large table of "regulars" next to us was very loud. Would try it again, but dishes seemed pricy.

There are plenty of French and Italian restaurants around, but if you are looking for great German/Austrian/Swiss food, this is the place to go. It's the real deal and made me feel I was in Switzerland. The Swiss chef cooks authentic Germanic foods that are really tasty. The atmosphere is truly Swiss with an accordian player and even the Chef comes out of the kitchen to sing. A fun evening with a bit of schmaltz.

Surprised my wife by having our adult children waiting for us when we arrived for what she thought was our "date night." While the others were waiting, Chef Ueli and Rigo brought out fondue and bunderfleisch ! The rouladen was outstanding, great spatzli (yes, I had to look up the proper spelling !) and red cabbage, awesome fondue, etc. Other table favorites included sauerbraten, bratwurst, eisbein and veal cordon bleu. Portions are large so sharing is a real possibility (we prefer to take home leftovers for the next day). The Erdinger draft beer was extremely well received by each of the boys! The music was spot on, in many languages. A fun, delightful evening and everyone left happy . . . and full ! Thanks for the great time!

Swiss Chef has an astounding variety of foods that are authentic to Switzerland, and more important than the variety is that each dish tastes almost exactly as you would expect it to taste in Switzerland. There are also additions to the menu from other German-speaking countries, so even if you have a large party everyone will be able to find something pleasing. The chef is extremely nice to come out and greet each table to make sure they are enjoying everything. This restaurant is charming, and will surely be a hit for people who have been to Switzerland as well as those just curious about Swiss cuisine is. Make sure to try the fondue!
