Our waitress and the other staff members were really nice. I figured that since this place is kind of chi-chi that the service would be snooty, but that is not the case at all. I had just gotten off the Top Chef Cruise and was disappointed with the quality of the food on the ship, so anyone reading my review should take into account that I was basically starved for real food. However, I enjoyed my burnt ends appetizer and I sampled the Pork Shoulder with beans. (Both were excellent). I also tried the chicken fried pork belly and waffles. We ordered from the Supper menu and were not disappointed. I can vouch for the Scallops, Burnt Ends, Cornbread, Mac & Cheese, Brisket, & Ribs. The Brisket is some of the best I've ever had. Other than that, take this advice: don't sit in a booth on the lower level near the entrance facing west in the late afternoon/evening. The food was excellent, and our server couldn't be better; his personality fit perfect with the vibe of Swine- very laid back and welcoming. You will probably have to wait even with a reservation, but it is worth it! The waiter was amazing, keeping us informed on how long the briscuit would be (it was an hour when we sat down). He gave us great suggestions. We had the mac 'n cheese, burnt ends, hush puppies, and eventually the 14-hour smoked briscuit. SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Amazing food! We also had the ribs which were ok but not great. Every table had the briscuit so make sure to order it when you sit down. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake, which was so good. Boyfriend got the ribs. Then flavoring of the ribs weren't that great, like the pork and beans more. Just know, come there hungry, like really hungry, the food was really filling. Super heavy, we barely finished our meals. You have to get the cornbread...delish! I had two cocktails, and I couldn't get enough of the Homestead bound, so refreshing. The food was memorable and the ambience really enhanced the experience. The bar mixology drinks were just ok in my book as they were pricey for what you got but that's just me. Overall I would recommend this place to all. Bone marrow was amazing, burnt ends rocked our world and the brisket was like butter. My group of friends were disappointed that they had a whole pig on the menu but found out from the waitress that they don't have that yet.... I mistakenly made my reservation for 2:15 but go there at 1:15. No problem I was sat in less than 10 minutes. I went with my brother for brunch and we ordered a few dishes. Everything was amazing. The duck had a veal reduction..I hate veal and had I not asked, I would have eaten a dish with cruel veal. It was great that the chef was able to accommodate me and made me a dish with duck only. Waiter staff and manager were very courteous and attentive to the table. They responded to the table just based on facial reactions and body language.
Food wise this place is a step up from Yardbird. Much more enriched menu with a variety of options (nearly all involving pork of course). The ribs are ridiculously good. The chicken and waffles with the bourbon maple syrup is a one of a kind treat - often imitated never duplicated. Swine perfect the chicken and waffle. The Jo Jo fries are addictive.
