Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great dinner but there isn't a lot of room between tables so it can be a little loud. The food was very good! The Snickers dessert was amazing!"

  • "Carrie served my wife and I. What a fabulous personality, and ability to time her service to us. She was also able to offer good menu advice. We will be back."

  • "WAITER: BAD. Our waiter was so quiet and we could have sworn he was high because he kept smiling at random times and was talking SO quietly (the restaurant isn't even a loud place) DRINKS: AMAZING. Our drinks were amazing!!!!! One of the best places to get a specialty drink in town. So wonderful. My personal favorite is the Berry Sexy. FOOD: OKAY We ordered 3 small plates. The lobster was just okay. The wonton wrapped Chicken curry was not at all what I expected (in a bad way) and very bland. The only redeemable dish was the bruschetta, which was absolute perfection, however I do not know how you can mess up bruschetta ;) Going forward I am only going to recommend this place to a friendbased on the ambience & wonderful drinks"

  • "Swig is hip, fun, and trendy. The food is delicious, the presentation is fantastic, and it's an awesome place to take a date you want to impress!"

  • "I went here with a date and I was thoroughly disappointed. The tapas were good portion but the food was too salty. Crab cakes and entrees were a bust. They were salty and just plain, flavorless. The only thing I remember that was good was the spinach we ordered when my girl had a craving for spinach. Needless to say, I would not go back here unless I do not have any other options."

  • "We went on a cold Tuesday night in February, so the restaurant was not busy. We ordered mostly small plates, and mostly they were excellent. I wouldnt bother getting the deep fried chicken curry thing again. The flatbread, mussels, crabcake and stuffed poblano were fab. We also got the gnocchi which was delicious. Service was great until the end when our waitress never came back to take the bill and our credit card. We had to flag down another server. The atmosphere is cool...kind of industrial. I love the gas fireplace also. I will go back in the summer. The place has a large glass garage door on its facade, and I think it'd be great to eat there with that door open in june."

  • "Our table by the window (garage door) was quite cold, otherwise food and service was amazing!"

  • "The food, service and atmosphere were great. The seared scallops with brussels sprouts and pancetta and the lobster stuffed poblano pepper were fantastic. The wild mushroom risotto was not very flavorful, however, all of the other menu choices were delicious. Our waiter, Arthur was very nice and attentive and we never felt rushed even though the restaurant was full. I recommend reservations on weekends, as this is a very poplular restaurant. They also have some very yummy, specialty drinks."

  • "The food was exquisite and the ambiance was unique and wonderful. The service was excellent too."

  • "My friend and I ordered small plates, which were tasty. The bruschetta was wonderful and the honey lime mojito was delicious. The table was incredibly small, especially when their selection of small plate foods tempts you to order more than your stomach can probably handle. Server was polite, but had an awkward demeanor or not being very "present". Overall, the vibe was cozy, and I feel a second dining experience would help me determine my final opinion."

  • "We had reservations at 8pm on a Saturday & were seated right away. We took our time & by 11pm we were the last ones in the restaurant & no service had come by to fill our water glasses for at least 45 minutes. The food was good, although the black quinoa was sweeter than I expected. The drinks were a little pricey. As we were leaving, some people came in for a drink & they were asked to leave because they were closing. We were surprised by the lack of hospitality at the conclusion of our visit. I had a City Tin coaster I had forgotten to give them & they weren't able to honor it because they had already shut down the register. Overall, the food & the atmosphere were good at the beginning, but certainly not a place to be after 10pm."

  • "There was much activity at Swig on a recent Saturday night. Some birthday celebrations, mostly couples enjoying an evening out with great food. We were not rushed - enjoyed a leisurely meal."

  • "We've eaten here before. This particular evening, we were seated at a small, narrow table, not much room for plates etc. We did request a larger table out of traffic on the Open Table website. Upon arrival, we were told the 4 person tables were needed. Not while we were there. We also felt rushed, even though the restaurant was not very full. Our meals were disappointing as well. The spinach artichoke dip was a gummy mix. We won't be back."

  • "Food was less impressive than what the prices and ambiance would lead you to expect. Baked Brie didn't need the pastry around it. The crab cakes tasted like tuna from a can. The shrimp soup was excellent. Service was good- a lot of checking in about how things were but table next to us seemed to get their food a lot faster, not sure why. Overall, I would go again but would take less chances on food. I'm willing to pay for the ambiance and location."

  • "I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was creative, modern and best of all tasted great. I appreciate all of the vegetarian options on the menu. Our sever, Kris, was very attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely stop by this restaurant again the next time I plan an afternoon in the Third Ward."
