Swift's attic is above the Elephant Room, so it's already extremely cool in my book. The drinks were wonderful, and the service/staff was so accommodating. I went with a couple of my girlfriends and we had a great time enjoying the food and atmosphere.

Great food but extremely busy. Our table was not available at our reservation time and the bar area was way too packed to even attempt to get a drink. I would go back, but would try to avoid it on the weekend.

This is my 3rd time at swift's and they have consistenly provided great service and delicious food with unusual flavor combinations. I encourage anyone who is open-minded to food to try it out. If you aren't adventurous, you probably won't enjoy the menu. The ambiance is also nice. It almost reminds me of NYC and I love the fact that they play old school hip-hop like Tupac as background music :). I love Swift's!

I went for a late lunch and this was amazing. Cute ambiance and a bit slow at 12:30 on a Monday. However I can imagine it gets pretty raucous at happy hour. The sweet potato soup sounded straight forward and ended up being ridiculously complex and delicious with a roasted pork stock. The chicken bacon sounds half way health until I realized it must be something close to chicken chicharon. Still it was super crunchy and tasty.

Things got a little loud at times (verbally) but the staff was all over it, keeping it classy. The music is kind of pop / hip-hop I guess is what you'd call it. Not my style and a bit loud for casual conversation, but not overwhelming. It's a fun atmosphere, but certainly not intimate dining. Food and cocktails are delicious! Staff, from hostess to waitstaff to bartenders and management / owner? all go above and beyond

We enjoyed our experience here as first time diners. Our waiter knew the menu and the beers very well. It was nice atmosphere and we loved 4 out of our 5 dishes. The 5th was not bad, but it wasn't as delicious as the others. Our first few plates came out a little faster than we liked, not leaving much room for them on our tiny table. But, we were still satisfied overall and will return for more.

We went for an early pre-show dinner. Even at an early hour, the place was packed -- clearly there is no secret about this one. We enjoyed the baby octopus (tender, tasty), poached oysters (delicious with a smoky tomato sauce) blistered peppers (could have been a tiny bit more blistered, but not bad) and one of the daily salad specials. Delicious! Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Star of the drink menu for my husband, pecan porter aged in Jameson's barrels. Bonus -- our niece was seated at a nearby table -- multi-generational dining!

Very cool place but very noisy too, I could bearly hear the conversation. The food was good, but small dishes. At the end of our meal we were asked for our napkins which I considered quite rude. The reeason was they had a big group coming and we have to leave or being realocated somewhere else. we should have been informed about it from the beginning.

I think the Dallas Uptown crowd (2nd street) has invaded Austin. It was more about the scene rather than the food which was average. Don't get me wrong I love a hot spot, but not a cheesy one. The service was spectacular!

I had a lovely dinner here, but I'm just not too sure I'll ever be back. There are too many other great restaurants in this city that are equally or more delicious for a better value and in more convenient locations. We ordered 5 plates. The trout and beef cheeks were standouts, but the others rather unremarkable. The ambiance was cool - dark, exposed brick, industrial, and I liked the Outkast they were playing. Although not a quiet place, I had no complaints about the noise level; I was able to hear my companion just fine. I think if our bill had been a little less and a couple more of the plates as awesome as the trout and beef, I'd say I couldn't wait to try this place again. But I probably won't think much about it ever again.

The music (type and vol) along with low, low, low lighting made this more of a trendy place vs a great restaurant. The food was very good, but trying to read the menu and give your order to the wait staff was too much of a hurdle (because of the noise and terrible lighting) - prevents me from returning. The wine list was very limited, not many choices for a good wine under $40-60.

At 8PM, I made an Open Table reservation for two for 9:15PM. I will not be dining at this establishment.

The menu was very creative and the setting was great. My one complaint is that even with reservations for dinner, we still had to wait 45 minutes for a table. I understand that the atmosphere lends itself to diners enjoying the experience and taking their time with thier meals, but the restaurant personnel taking reservations really need to take this into account for planning purposes, otherwise why even take reservations if they hold no bearing on when you will be able to eat?

Many friends talked about this restaurant, so we went. Maybe our expectations were too high, we were disappointed by their food. When oysters re decorated with so much stuff that you can't taste oysters when you eat them, the chef has overdone it. Overall, it's a good restaurant. Food was good, but not great.

My husband and I are young so the younger crowd here was great; however, the music is just too loud. We could not hear each other talking. My husband and I walked out very annoyed because we had to repeat almost everything we said to each other. The food is good but it is too expensive for what you get. I'm not a cheap eater either, we frequent a lot of upscale places. I just didn't think it was worth the cost. Swifts attic would be fun if you we're in a group looking to have mostly drinks with a small bite of food and then planned to hit a club afterwards. For a date, it's no good.

I picked Swift's Attic for my wife's birthday and for our first night out in Austin. And boy where we just completely amazed and pleased with out experience. After enjoying a couple of wonderful cocktails at the bar we were seated and picked a few dishes from the family style menue assisted by the knowledgable and pleasant wait staff. The food arrived perfectly timed and spaced out for a perfect dining experience. We picked one appetizer and three main dishes, one of wich was from the lighter left side of the menu and two from the more filling right side. We weren't planning on desert but after just being so pleased and blow away with the other dishes we just couldn't resist the temptation. Just a perfect dining experience.

The food was very good but not on par with Salty SOW, Foreign and Domestic, and Barley swine - which we heard it was comparable to. I think we may return if friends wanted to try it out but as far the other restaurant previously mentioned, Swift's attic would be lower on the list. Our waiter was very good but he often was talking so much we didn't get to ask questions about the menu. It almost appeared as if he was on a ton of er....caffine? Al in all it was a great night out. Swift's attic is an amazing place but with Austin having so many great small plate/modern cuisine restaurants the bar is set pretty high.

We enjoyed the food tremendously at Swift's Attic. It is Tapas style food and we had a variety of plates and all were really good. My biggest complaint though was that we had a reservation for 3 and instead of having a 4 top table with an empty seat, we were seated in a weird corner booth kind of seat with a 2 top table. That was a very cramped seat and packed table with plates, drinks, water, a candle, etc. They also had some funny thing they did with water at the tables... served in a glass flask and left on the table. Very pretty, but again, being the 3 people at a 2 top, this was just more stuff on our table that didn't need to be there. Will I go back??? Sure... I just hope I don't get that same table.

Our first time here and well go back. We love the tapas style of service and the drinks were interesting. I'm not a whisky fan so I tried the Herbed peach cocktail with vodka instead, it was very tasty. We loved the ham and cheese style bruschetta tapas the best. Simple, clean, tasty, and easy to handle. We were also impressed with the timing of the service. Dishes arrived 2 at a time only We were more critical of some of the other dishes. Tapas is most fun when you can pick up a bite with your hands. We found many of the dishes to be quite messy and impossible to do so with. We were especially disappointed with the goat belly stew on Brazilian cheese breads. We love those type of breads and the stew made them soggy and messy.
