Our server was very friendly. I wish they had more menu options but we all found something. I wanted the beet salad for lunch but when I asked how large the portion was I was told it was small. That was disappointing so I ordered a regular salad topped with grilled chicken. They had topped it with a good amount of chicken. I reserved half the chicken to bring home but the busboy took it away and I didn't get to tell him (nor did he ask) if I wanted it wrapped! There was quite a bit left so this too was a little disappointing. My husband enjoyed his grilled chicken sandwich. I am not from the area and therefore, may try a different place next time. But a good place for locals.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMComing Back!First time at Sweet Grass but not the last. This was the perfect vegetarian/vegan friendly place with lots of delicious options. The carrot ginger soup and the vegan shepards pie were delicious, while the kale salad was rather bland-just some raw kale with sliced almons and citrus fruit. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and it was great that they have a bar as an option or to have a drink before or after dinner. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. It is a small, intimate restaurant and you feel transported to LA. It is great for, breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Their food is fresh, locally sustainable, organic from tofu, to eggs, to burgers, to fish, with Mimosa's too! From young to old frequent this restaurant. We love it and look forward to eating there! We arrived directly after a show (9:30PM), the restaurant is about 1/2 a block from the theater. There were a few tables finishing up and the bar was mostly full. We ordered and were promptly served. The people who work there, from the hostess to the servers to the guy who cleared our table, were friendly and respectful. Our server was particularly personable. We were asking him about the neighborhood and he was happy to share his perceptions of Tarrytown when he was not busy. We thought it would be fun to go there late at night sometime, just for a drink, as a change of pace from eating a meal there, since it was lively and the drinks looked good.
