The desserts are also to die for. This was a great dining experience. An added extra, the view of the ocean at sunset is spectacular, provided there is no fog. Our reservation was at 6:45 PM and we were able to observe the sunset during dessert. I wasn't sure a place like this would be kid friendly and sure enough, they are. Online I didn't find a kids menu, but decided to bring my kids anyways. They were very accommodating and welcoming, my kids enjoyed every moment. We sat by a window and had so much room to move around. No one seemed to be bothered by my kids, taking multiple photos of our family, just having a blast. I would like to revisit this place, customer service was satisfactory, all else was perfect. The bouillabaisse was just ok for me I should have picked the whole fish of the day. We sat in the lower dining room by the window and were able to see 3 or 4 gray whales, and perhaps an Orca, breaching near the rocks just off shore, while we dined on a variety of excellent options. We enjoyed a bowl of peashoot/spring onion soup, the prawns with paprika, artichoke raviolis, and halibut. The food was excellent, the only bump was the vegetable side served with the raviolis; the turnips were slightly undercooked, and the grilled spring onions with them as well. Minor distraction to an otherwise amazing experience at a national landmark.

It's billed as "the best view of the ocean in San Francisco" and it lived up to it. Definitely A-1. Sutros is the more formal dining area that accepts reservations. The Bistro upstairs is more casual fare. Sutros dining room has 25 ft ceilings with floor to ceiling windows to take advantage of the view. Wine list was extensive. Food was excellent but not over the top. We sat close to the window and was mesmerized by the view. Our waiter was fairly attentive but not intrusive. Overall this was one of the more memorable restaurants I've dined at in my life.
