A word from Sustain Restaurant
The menu, accessibly priced, will change with the seasons, and aspires to include both the accessible and adventurous. A wood burning oven will infuse flavor into vegetables, chicken, and pizza. Regionally raised grass-fed beef will be used in house-made hamburgers, sausages, and corned beef, among other items. Also on offer will be refreshing salads, including the notable "50-mile" salad, made with ingredients sourced within 50 miles of the restaurant. Food service will extend to the bar, and to complement menu items, old-fashioned cocktails, artisanal beers, and a large selection of reasonably priced wines will be available. Rather than bottled water, Sustain will serve filtered water from an in-house system, free of charge. Desserts, made on premise will feature homey delights such as warm fresh-baked cookies, cobblers, and doughnuts.

Priced a bit too high for what it is. Food was very good, but the value was below average, e.g., the "Heirloom tomato" salad had maybe half of one heirloom tomato.

Brilliant!!!! Eco-chic, very cool interior, non-pretentious, love the concept. Creative cocktails and even more inspired the FOOD!!!! My boyfriend and I gave patronage to this spot after some research I did on local foods. We were delectibly astounded by the indulgent dishes we thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was spot on. From the mouth watering calamari appitizer to the tasty little brownie dessert to end the meal; everything in between was delicious!!!! The Design Distric is quickly becoming a favorite location for us and now we have even more reason for us to visit the area with Sustain!

Food and ambiance were very good. We had the house made sausage, we fries with Foi, antelope and the snapper. Food and drinks were different tasty and respectful of ingredients. Service however was extremly slow, more than 25 mins passed after finishing our appetizers before we saw mains. It got so late we couldn't stay for dessert, however they looked great from afar.

Food: GREAT! - The shrimp and grits were nice and decadent. My boyfriend had the fried chicken which he said was amazing. They had run out of biscuits though. Really wish I had the chance to try them, they looked good. Overall the food tasted fresh and delicious. Its clear they use quality ingredients. Portions aren't terribly big but I appreciate that. Service: It took a little while for our drink order to get to us but our waiter was very nice and accommodating. Ambience: It was Sunday afternoon brunch and they had a DJ playing some great music. Saturday night had been pretty rough so the music definitely helped kick us back into gear.

Great concept, and both the service and atmosphere at Sustain were very good on a recent Saturday night. With regard to the food, we found it overall to be more in the average range. While I had the pork chop, which was really quite good, my husband's fish (snapper) arrived slightly undercooked. The server quickly tried to make that right which was appreciated. Desserts sounded terrific, but the ice cream pie was frozen too hard and was only so-so in my opinion, and the apple dessert special had too many oats which made it dry and reminded me of oatmeal. We may try Sustain again, but probably not right away.

Sustain was extremely accommodating. It was quiet and the menu seem interesting. Unfortunately, for me I ordered the soft shell crab entree and did not care for it at all. It was a special that evening. It had very heavy handed beer batter. A bit greasy and although fresh the crab was not very tasty. I think it was not seasoned at all so all you tasted was the oil. The appetizer salad with heirloom tomatoes was fine. The ice cream pie was very good. The service was very attentive. Just really hated that soft shell crab.

The concept cannot be denied and is in keeping with current thought about our food habits in the world. Our guests found their food excellent; I, one with a more critical eye, felt the concept outweighed the food, although I very much enjoyed my meal. The decor and service was very good. We would return.

Sustain was a surprisingly unique dinning experience. The cocktails were fantastic! We ordered 2 apps, a large salad, wet fries, duck and snapper for 4 people. It was just the right amount of food and it was delicious! Our waiter was not the best, as he suggested we order way more than was necessary, and wasn't very attentive. But his service was not bad enough to ruin our experience. I'd recommend this place again and again. I look forward to sampling new things on my next visit.

I would have loved to give this place five stars, but I wasn't able to try the entree that I was hoping to try as they had run out of the fish, nor was I able to try my second choice of entree. I can understand running out of a dish, but two? Also the fish they were replacing with didn't sound like a favorable swap. Not to be deterred, we decided to share some items from the "For the Table" section of the menu. We tried the mussels, foie gras, bone marrow, 50 Salad and Calabaza soup. Everything was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly, happily guiding us through our choices when we asked for her input. The drinks were inspired and tasty. I would recommend this place without hesitation and look forward to another meal

This restaurant has a neighborhood vibe and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with the highly-touted 50 Mile Salad. While the greens were outstanding, the additional ingredients (beets, cheese) were hard to find. My husband had the roasted chicken which was excellent. We thought the pricing was fair, though at $14 per glass, the chardonnay was over-priced and just OK. We will give Sustain another try

I can personally say I am a foodie! I love to eat and try new restaurants. I was dying to go to this particular one and when I saw the Guilt City coupon, I had to jump at the opportunity. I went during brunch hours because I've read so many reviews but it didn't exceed my expectations. Needless to say I also found a piece of wire in my CHICKEN!! I was offered another chicken but who wants to eat after that incident! At least my friend and I got compensated at the end with two rounds of mimosas which I was happy about, but I doubt I will ever go back. The food was okay not over the top and prices are a little expensive for the quality.

Sustain is beautifully decorated. I arrived a few minutes early for my reservation and was seated immediately. Service was prompt, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the selections on the menu. I ordered a NY Strip with the Oxtail Marmalade and a Potato Confit as a main course. The NY Strip was cooked to perfection and the Oxtail Marmalade was magic that transformed that perfect steak into something much more amazing. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Miami right now.

The overall experience and service was good. The food however left a sad taste in my mouth. The menu was not as varied as i remembered and i was honestly embarrassed that i took my friends there. When my friend ordered a lobster roll and was given a lobster salad sandwich on two mini hoagies, i thought my face would fall off. The excess use of mayo in the appetizers signals pre-made food which is more like what you should get at a Fridays and not a semi-fine dining restaurant. The bread and the soup were the best things we ate. The two past visits were much better due to the menu and the freshness of the food. The place is too nice to go out of business, so i hope they get their act together.

Absolutely amazing dining experience!!! We had pork belly that was phenomenal, arugula salad, which the waiter was kind enough to substitute the chees on it for my girlfriend. I had to fight the other people at my table for the mash potatoes that came with my fried chicken...which is far and away better than any fried chicken that I have had in Miami. The cobia special was very good as well. Overall great experience and I can't wait to go back

I believe the idea is good but the execution still needs some work, although the staff was friendly, their effectiveness lacked. I enjoyed my time and I appreciated their willingness to accommodate us (two small kids) but they missed number of marks that in my mind are basic The Price point was high and because of that you tend to look for the value, which in my opinion did not match the price point, I can think of at least 5 other restaurants were the experience would be supreme for that price point. Food was ok and the menu choices were exciting, but he flavor was disappointed, we had octopus, bone marrow, crab/lobster rolls and truffle pizza as appetizers and They were just ok. The main dishes were better but not spectacular

Mussels with fries appetizer, duck breast served medium and fried chicken with mashed potatoes all hit their mark. Extensive wine list and beer selection too. The bar looks like a nice alternative to the crazed Sugar Cane next door. Already thinking of going back.
