Diner Reviews
  • "I go once per year when I am in Las Vegas and I am never disappointed. Unbelievable food and service every time."

  • "SUSHISAMBA is a wonderful place to take friends and family to that are visiting the Las Vegas area or who are simply finding a place to dine. They have a wide variety of drinks and sushi. This place is especially a perfect place to celebrate special occasions."

  • "We were a little hesitant at fist considering the combination of foods, but we figured we'd give it a try since we were celebrating birthdays. We tried the tasting menu. The waiter was amazing and had a good handle on our groups likes and dislikes. He brought out dishes we would have never ordered ourselves and we loved them!! We haven't stopped talking about how good the food was! We had sea bass skewers, taco appetizers, Kobe beef, fresh sushi and so much more! There was not one item our waiter brought out that our group did not like!! I highly recommend this place. We told the waiter we has a show and had to be done in an hour and a half and even with the tasting experience he was able to keep his promise! Great experience!!!"

  • "Good food. Portions are somewhat small but the cuisine was very different. Two thumbs up"

  • "What fun, fantastic flavors, great service, good value. Our party of six enjoyed every moment of our dining experience - our waiter was excellent, with a great personality and very helpful with ordering, food deliverers were very professional and organized, food was very tasty and interesting, and they actually remembered to recognize my parents' 80th birthday - unlike the other place in Vegas that we dined and spent twice as much with no acknowledgement aside from the check. This is a fantastic venue for groups to relax over great cocktails, wine and food."

  • "All of the items we had were great. My daughter is a vegetarian, which makes dining at restaurants diffiult some times. There were lots of options for her to choose from."

  • "Excellent sushi, seviche, hot dishes, and more. Huge Sake list, more that I usually see at top sushi restaurants. The service was great, the food came out faster than I thought possible, and the food was incredibly tasty. It does get noisy in there, but if has a good ambiance."

  • "Food was excellent and staff was knowledgeable about the food. We were treated well by all from the reception to the manager who welcomed us and our waitstaff were attentive and came at the right times. Only negative would be the noise level, we were in the middle of the restaurant and it was noisy but we still had our special night."

  • "I came here because I've been to the one in new York and it was the best sushi ever! This place didn't disappoint! Everything is so fresh!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. Waitstaff was attentive. The yellowtail with jalapeño and lemongrass was fabulous. The miso sea bass was also very good."

  • "I just wish since we had two servers that we wouldn't have had to ask the busboys and host for service. The servers had stated several times that the food would come out as it was cooked which is not a problem if it is an all tapas restaurant and the table all shares food. In this particular case having five people with separate entrees it didn't go very well. It was to the point where everyone had finished their meals and the fifth person still hadn't received their food."

  • "My fiancé and I had gone here by chance a year ago and needed to return. Brought my daughter here this time so I had to bring her. Sushi was amazing especially the mondial roll. Everything was so good. We will be back. Our server made great recommendations too. We ordered almost everything he suggested and were very pleased."

  • "I'm a sushi fanatic, so I wanted to try this place out. The waitress was uppity and short with me. Not a good way to start. I love great sashimi, but I also wanted a roll. I ordered both. The sashimi was very good, but the roll was OK. For an empty restaurant, it took a long time to get my food and I had to ask twice just to get ginger. My bill was $60....for lunch....for one person with water. Not worth it. Not impressed. Not returning."

  • "Whoever thought of mixing Latin fused foods and spices with Japanese sashimi and sushi was probably thought of as a madman originally but now a genius. Sushi Samba at the Palazzo Las Vegas really does it incredibly brilliant . The food is impeccable and the service great. Try the sparkling hibiscus sake with the four-plates of spice sashimi. Talk about melting in your mouth with the afterglow of spices and sauces. Mix up the skewered chicken and seafood with the giant mountaintop Peruvian yellow corn. Experiment with a food journey thats simply delicious and enjoy the fashionable PYT's who flock to this hot-spot. Not just well-done but brilliantly done!"

  • "I usually never review a restaurant but this one is just too good to not let others know about. We had 3 sushi rolls that were completely different from the usual and were excellent as well as Japanese barbecued sea bass over Peruvian corn. I could not believe how good it was. We go to a lot of places and try to choose new places when we go to Vegas. We will absolutely keep going to this restaurant and it is a real find for those looking for a dining experience. Thank you open table for the listing."

  • "There are better places to eat sushi than here. The selections were interesting and tasteful, but overpriced. In addition, we ordered blue fin tuna. It looked and tasted more like albacore. That's how bad it was. The rolls are $15+ and are small and are mostly rice. In spite of the fair food quality, the wait staff was very attentive and helpful. Thus the higher ratings for service and ambience. I will not eat here again."

  • "Staff was very attentive. Both managers came by the table to see how our evening was going. Waitress had orders perfect and kitchen delivered the food quickly ad correctly. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Las Vegas."

  • "Very disappointing... is our favorite spot in vegas but they messed up our order then brought it all out at same time even though i specifically asked for it to be spaced out... Then the waiter spilled soy sauce on me. Just a poor showing from a usually great spot"

  • "Lots of variety and very tasty combinations. As expected with the location, it is a bit pricy. We make reservations hoping to take advantage of the happy hour they have during the week until 7 but we weren't told until we sat down that it's only at the bar. Enjoyed our full priced food and drink anyway! Left stuffed and happy."

  • "I went for lunch, it was pretty empty, aside the fact the we were seated in front of the kitchen door (we realized a bit later when the traffic picked-up) the food was good. We order seabass, seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll, yellow tail taquitos. Everything was fresh and tasty but I enjoyed the seabass the most. FYI. portions are in the petite size. "

  • "Very loud, food was very poor compared to previous visit, service was poor (busy inside, didn't seem to be enough wait staff). Ordered a drink that never came."
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "Have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about a Japanese/Peruvian combo but it made for some fantastic favors. Yellowtail sashimi with red jalapeño and lemongrass sauce was amazing. Sea bass skewers melt in your mouth. Great rolls and sushi flight was good. A little noisy but so is everything in Vegas. "

  • "Several friends and I visited SUSHISAMBA in Vegas on vacation. It was one of our more fun experiences. After one after another casino buffet, this was a welcome change. The food was adventurous, and there was something on the menu for everyone. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, and skewed young, which was a welcome change from the rest of Vegas. The saki menu was great (ranging from $15 bottles to $150+ bottles). The DJ was fun as well."

  • "The food is excellent! The combination of flavors between Japanese and Brazilian is amazing! We had some sashimi to start that was delicious. Followed by some rolls and the grilled meat trio that was spectacular. We finished with the macaica ( spelled wrong ) which is a traditional Brazilian dish of rice and seafood with and creamy coconut flavored sauce. Just as good as any I have had in Brazil. It is well worth a visit!"

  • "We've been here multiple times...we never miss it when we come to Vegas. The food is so fresh that it tastes like it swam that morning in the ocean. The service is always very, very good. Our only objection is the noise level. It's always just SO loud. It's impossible to share a conversation. We can't talk about our enjoyment of the meal until AFTER we leave, much less anything else. Lunch is very much better as for noise level. I wish that they had a quiet dining area that didn't include the bar scene. I think that they once had because I remember a dinner where my husband & I sat for hours ordering one thing after another...but that wasn't an option this time. And I made my reservation well ahead of time."

  • "Short version: Great food, spotty service. Longer version: This is the third time we have been to SushiSamba and in our OpenTable reservation we had requested a table out of the way so we can talk business. At first they seated us right in the middle crammed between two other tables for two, (not good), and then we moved to the sushi bar. Our waitress had the entire sushi bar area (two areas), so service was spotty because it was crowded. Not her fault, they needed another person. Food was excellent though - try the Wagyu beef. It will set you back but worth it. Sea bass was outstanding. Expect a crowd - get reservations."

  • "The food was good, nothing to complain about. The service was great, but this restaurant sat us at the most awkward table of my life. I get it, we're two people, small party. But our table was literally in the middle of a walkway. Our table got bumped by busy servers CONSTANTLY. Not exactly romantic for our anniversary. Thanks guys. "

  • "Every time I visit Vegas my friends and I make it a point to dine here and it is always amazing, one of my most favorite restaurant in the world!"

  • "I have eaten here several times, and it's always a WOW experience, this time was no different. Don't order off the menu, instead let your server ask questions, and devise a menu with the chef. The food is simply AMAZING, a must dine at spot, that complets any trip to Vegas."

  • "Everything was good, except for the Chilean sea bass, which was phenomenal. The waiter helped us figure out the right amount of food to order, given that we weren't very hungry for lunch, having stuffed ourselves at a buffet for breakfast. We shared three small plates, and the highlight was the sea bass, which is marinated in miso, cooked on a fancy kind of Japanese grill, and served on skewers. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and coated with a sweet (but not too sweet) sauce. Delicious!"

  • "I can't say enough about this place. Amazing food, fantastic waiter who selected our whole meal for us and did an excellent job. He was fun, friendly and knew how to treat his guests. The scene is vibrant and high energy. The drinks are great and the food is ridiculous. I ate things I would never normally eat and nothing disappointed. I can't even pick a favorite b/c every bite was so good. I would highly recommend this place and especially enjoyed our server, Mike. "

  • "My boyfriend and I ate here whilst on holiday in Vegas and we had the best time! Our server Mikael, was excellent. He recommended our complete meal for the evening and there was not one dish that we didn't enjoy. I have already said to a friend that they have to go here when they go to Vegas later this year. I can't wait to go back!"
