Diner Reviews
  • "Sushi here does not disappoint. Bora Bora and Oak Lawn are our favorites! The La Crema wine was excellent. Service was great. The only complaint I have, is that it is very noisy and loud."

  • "Went to a late lunch with a group. Hadn't been to the new location, and we loved it. Fits in nicely with the great neighborhood, and the interior design is very contemporary and beautiful. Food, as usual, was terrific. Great selection of sushi and sashimi, artfully presented. We'll be back?"

  • "I've been to Sushi Zushi a few times now. I have a budding sushi interest and I enjoy their menu! I've taken friends with more sushi experience than I have and they've enjoyed it as well. The menu is big and they have a BIG menu. I'd definitely recommend it. :)"

  • "We are promptly seated for our 7:30pm reservation. We were given the option of indoor or ourdoor seating. We opt for outdoor seating to enjoy the wonderful spring temperatures. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared. Highly recommend the Bora Bora roll...we ask to have it prepared without cream cheese and the response from the waiter was "yes, we can definitely do that." He was very attentive and very accommodating. We were a party of 4 and everyone in the party was impressed with the service and sushi! "

  • "The Sushi menu here is a book… they have every kind of sushi I can imagine. Great food and great service! A little pricey, but worth it."

  • "I enjoyed the food, drinks, and friends. It is located in a trendy area and you can walk around to see retail, coffee shops, yoga studios, and several other restaurants and bars. Very nice experience."

  • "Our server appeared very disinterested, especially regarding happy hour sushi. We arrived at 6:35pm, and at 6:55pm, she was still standing near the order station. She then seemed irritated that we would order happy hour sushi 5 minutes prior to the end of happy hour. The food was delicious, and the manager was very kind & hospitable!"

  • "We've been regulars at Zushi Sushi since it was located on Oaklawn Avenue. Now that it's across the street, we're there at least 2-3 times a month. The staff here is terrific: friendly, welcoming and they always aim to please. Of course, the sushi is delicious! Reservations are a good idea for Fridays & Saturdays, when they're at their busiest. One of our favorite restaurants in Dallas."

  • "This restaurant moved from Oaklawn to the West Village area. Used to be a favorite. But now, parking is nearly impossible and the service was unbearably slow for mediocre food. Sorry to see this place's decline."

  • "I love, love, love this restaurant!!! The sushi is always fresh and served quickly. I love the selection and that the menu is divided by sushi type/ingredient and denotes what's cooked and what isn't. I have plenty more rolls to try but everything I've had so far was delicious. I never leave disappointed. The servers are always helpful and go above and beyond to meet your requests. This place is my go to sushi spot and I love the area. I will be visiting again very soon."

  • "Seating was readily available on a Thursday evening around 8:30 PM. We ordered the Riverwalk Roll immediately with cucumber wrap. After we received our beverages we added to our order : mussels, tower, and tartar. After the roll and mussels came out we ordered the collar/hamachi kama. The food was fantastic, however, the timeliness was lacking. Despite the tower and tartar listed as appetizers these food items came out long after the roll, mussels and collar and two reminders from us. The food is very flavorful and presented beautifully, the only issue is timing."

  • "There were 10 of us for dinner on a Sunday night and we had a great time. The sushi was outstanding!!"

  • "Everything was wonderful the fish was very fresh and the rolls were as beautiful as they were declicious. The service was spot with all requests and suggestions."

  • "Ambiance has declined since the relocation. , Feels a like a quick, really good sushi cafeteria. Across the street is a major construction project right now.. There is a busy gym across the walkway and personal trainer clients are often outside running up and down the stairs and doing squats! Weird or not? Your decision. The sushi is fresh, moderately priced, presentation is excellent. Great food, great service, poor ambiance. Side note:, would it kill the table hosts to smile and pretend they like their job?"

  • "This was our first visit to Sushi Zushi's new location in the West Village. While the sushi remains outstanding, I miss the convenience of easy parking and the more laid back atmosphere at the old location. Everything about the new space reminded me of why I don't go to the West Village more often - impossible parking, acoustic cacophany, and too many "woo!" girls out partying. And even worse, their liquor license had not yet gone into effect, so we couldn't order yellowjacket cocktails."

  • "I've been to Sushi Zushi a few times at it's Oak Lawn location as well as in San Antonio. With your recent move to West Village I noticed a lot more energy and just a different positive buzz around the restaurant. Now, this was your first week and with the alcohol being 'complementary' I will say that it made for an even more enjoyable night, ha! But, even without the complementary food/beverages, the service was very accommodating with the hustle that was going on."

  • "It has very good sushi. The ambience was nice, but not as swanky as their old place. Try the Cosimo Role. It is great!"

  • "Had a good time. Friendly staff. They have recently moved to the new location, so they appeared a but slow at times. But we were not in a big rush, so it was fine."
    Dined on 7/12/2013
  • "Nice, great menu, friendly staff but they ran out of sushi so we left! Major disappointment! Oh and the bar was empty!"
    Dined on 7/6/2013
  • "Menu is GIGANTIC. Good luck picking something to eat. Instead of doing a few thing amazingly they do a million things pretty good."
    Dined on 7/3/2013
  • "They have the best sushi rolls, we always go there with a group of girlfriends for each others birthdays and special occasions. The service is always fantastic."

  • "Our server recommended several sushi rolls that were spot-on accurate and wonderful. When we first arrived at 6:30 (on a Thursday) the restaurant wasn't too crowded, but by the time we left (around 9) the restaurant was very crowded. It seems our waiter was given very many tables and in fact, two of his tables asked to be moved outside. Our wait was a little bit longer on some refills, but nothing too unreasonable and we could see our server was working very hard to take care of all his customers. We felt welcomed and were well cared for. We will return when we are in Dallas again."

  • "The drinks were very good and there was a vast variety of speciality drinks. The roll options went on for pages and pages! The LIR sauce was slammin'! The leak from the roof in the bar area was not a positive. A big drip bucket in the middle of the bar was not the best visual."

  • "They have a big menu. The atmospher was good. The food was average."

  • "Consistently the best sushi place in Dallas! Unparalleled service, freshest fish, amazing drinks! This is the place I compare all others to; and the one I keep coming back to. Wish they weren't moving to West Village."

  • "Finding a relatively large vegan menu is unheard of in Dallas. it is rare to have choices. Everything we had was very tasty. The only problem was a very large group celebrating a birthday and they were so loud and distracting they ruined the ambiance for everyone but themselves."

  • "Sushi Zushi is definitely worth going during happy hour. They have a great selection of cocktails and food for such a great price. You can still of course order from the regular menu. All the servers are very nice and really know the menu so don't be overwhelm when you see the many roll options they offer. I like raw and spicy, so I usually get the pepper tuna roll. My husband loves their rajun cajun roll, which is fried crawfish with cheese on top. It sounds weird but trust me, it is delicious. I would recommend Sushi Zushi to any sushi lovers out there or for first timers."

  • "We had a really pleasant pre-theater meal out on the patio. The specialty rolls here just make us happy!"

  • "We have found a new favorite in Sushi Zushi. The extensive menu can be a bit daunting, however, it encouraged us to try a variety of new foods and everything was DELICIOUS! The sashimi sampler was incredible and all the rolls that we sampled were some of the best sushi we've ever had. We will definitely be back.....SOON!"

  • "I love sushi zushi. I've never had a bad experience there. We were greeted and quickly sat. David, our server, was nice and very attentive during the busy dinner rush. He introduced me to a new item which I now will always order: quail egg shooters. Delicious!"
