Diner Reviews
  • "Reserved a table for this restaurant. This is located in the middle of the hotel in front of a lounge and the real restraint (Preston's) it is a small sushi bar type atmosphere not an actual restaurant you would expect it to be. Food and service was fine but it felt like a open walled sushi bar opened up as a kiosk in a mall."

  • "Sushi SoBe, whilst enough distance away from the reception area to be quiet enough for my husband and I to enjoy a 'last night of holiday' treat, there was no escaping we were sat in a hotel lobby. The maitre d's desk was not obvious and the "restaurant" was split in two by the wheelchair ramp. Grumble over, the food was excellent. We had gyoza and beef skewers to start - the skewers were particularly moist and flavourful. For mains we had lobster and beef rolls, tempura shrimp rolls and crab rolls - all beautifully crafted and fresh. For desert, we were able to eat off the other hotel restaurant's sweet menu - I'd recommend the chocolate tart. This, plus 4 beers, came to USD145. So, food great, but atmosphere and setting meh."

  • "This is a very personal opinion and its made with a backgrouond of eating sushi in many places in New York. The servers were charming and very helpful. The food was simply not up to the quality and taste I had come to expect as a sushi fan. The spicy salmon roll was half the size of those back in NY and the special sushi roll was so loaded with rice, you could hardly taste the fish. There was no seaweed salad available.. The tuna tacos dish was not to our liking either. We ate at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening in a resort town and in a big, popular hotel (Loew's). We were the only diners in the place throughout the meal."

  • "Restaurant is ok by it self, but its more a place i would go for a quick bite if you are travelling alone or for lunch. The Food was a little bit "boring". Surprisingly cheap, but i didn't go in order to save money.."

  • "Although the rolls were delicious, they were very heavy, and cut a bit large for easy consumption.very much unlike all the other sushi I eat around the beach. The lobster and fish were very fresh, and everything tasted"" delicious.""...the ambience lacked any asian flair, since the restaurant is in the middle of the back section of the lobby. valet park was published on the Loews website at $18,..they wanted to charge us $30..then settled on $22.very unfair!!!!!!. since I live, work and play in south beach,I recommend finding another place to eat your sushi.waitstaff was young and not knowledgable with the sushi."

  • "Dinner with a group of 10 serious food and wine folks during a convention in South Beach. This is a pretty small Sushi Bar on the main floor of the Loews Miami Beach. Honestly - and I realize my reservation was made just a few hours before we arrived - the "main restaurant" inside the hotel never communicated our reservation to the Sushi bar, so when we arrived they had no table large enough to hold our group. That was a disappointment - not sure why they take such large reservations - as there is only one "communal table" here even close to large enough for a group of 10. So we dined "outside" on the veranda near the pool - lovely night, and the variety of sushi we ordered was good. Service was pleasant but inexperienced."

  • "This restaurant is located in the middle of the Loews Hotel lobby. The atmosphere is less than inviting. Guests of the hotel were literally walking through the very small dining area. The sever was very attentive, however we could not get past the ambience. The Sushi rolls weregenerousin size, but just okay in flavor. We will not return."

  • "In the middle of e bar area and in front of a sundry store. Too much activity. One guy was yelling at his kids the entire time. I would have expected a lot more for this hotel and the prices. Go to blade at blufountaine much better food service and atmosphere for the same price"

  • "I had a Open Table reservation on Tuesday night. I arrived at 7:15pm...by 7:30pm the meal was over! Why? I ordered an appetizer, a roll and a sashimi platter. For some reason, they were delivered at the same time.... The sushi selection only had 8 different fishes. That's it! No Omikase, no sense of pacing the experience, no realization if one orders a salmon carpaccio, the sushi sampler of 6 pieces should not also include salmon. The waitress was not cordial...she was uninformed and rushed the whole dinner. I had better service and better assortment of sushi at Miami Sushi at the MIA airport! What a let down!"

  • "The sushi is consistently excellent and sitting outside is quiet and breezy with a distant view of the ocean. Love going there as a local even though it's a hotel restaurant."

  • "Worst place ever, listen to all the reviews I didn't and had the worst date ever. Don't go here. They wanted us to pay the bill in full before we even got our first drinks. Best part of the meal was leaving still hungry so we could eat somewhere else!!!"

  • "Very disappointed in this sushi place. Should have known better..it was in a hotel. Sushi Ok but the reviews and photos of food were way better than the place itself!! Don't waste your time..order room service pizza and call it a night!!!"

  • "Good sushi but being located in the "lobby" of the hotel gives it a not so pleasant ambiance. Sushi good though"

  • "I 3'd this place! It was cozy and it was nice. Small little sushi bar but it was nice...and the SUshi was awesome!"

  • "I have to agree with other reviews. The food is great, but a bit pricey for the location of the restaurant (lobby of Lowes Hotel). It feels like you are dining at the hotel lobby. Despite the ambiance, the sushi is very, very good... top quality."

  • "I came here during a week-long vacation to try the Miami Spice menu out. The food was amazing! I love the Loew's Hotel and actually stayed there a couple years ago but didn't get to try out this place, but I'm so glad we came back. The restaurant is located in the lobby, but it is not loud or too overwhelming with guests walking in and out to the pool. It's very classy and small, but the intimate setting made for some great memories."

  • "Impeccable service and good food but the ambience doesn't quite justify the prices. This isn't really a restaurant, think of it as more of a sushi bar in the middle of the Loews hotel lobby. I prefer my sushi without a side of screaming kids and bikini clad hotel guests. The noise level is pretty high. What works for the Delano does not quite work here. Started out with the Chicken Gyoza. The lowest priced appetizer and how could you go wrong with deep fried dumplings? You get 5 generously sized dumplings with a sweet and sour BBQ sauce. The sauce is delicious and the dumplings desperately need it because they are completely bland on their own. They could use a little scallion or seasoning inside the dumplings. I'd also prefer them steam"

  • "One of my favorite restaurants in Miami. Try the rock shrimp & peruvian corn! Yes it's expensive - but you get what you pay for."

  • "service was great and the food fresh and prepared quickly. Restaurant is located in the hotel promenade right behind the bar/lounge. Menu consisted of approximately 16 "specialty" rolls but included a california roll and a tuna roll for the less adventurous."
