Diner Reviews
  • "We had the popcorn shrimp very surprised but the nice amount and the taste. The short rib were just ok but the sushi was very fresh. I wish they had more different types of rolls. overall 31/2 chef hats and the prices weren't over the top."

  • "I cannot say enough good things about Sushi Roku. This is a must stop every time we are in Vegas. The staff is amazing and the food is five star. The detail and obvious thoughtful approach is very much appreciated."

  • "Every Vegas trip has contained at least one stop to Sushi Roku. They offer a great selection of premum sake along with some ecclectic sushi. They didn't disappoint this time around either. There are some specials worth looking at as well as the asparagus wrapped with beef. Portions are small so it will be easy to get carried away and find a whopping tab at the end. Eat slowly and consume sake!"

  • "Sometimes when you're in Las Vegas - the land without clocks - it can be troublesome to get a large group of people to one place at the same time. We changed our reservation 3 times and the staff at Sushi Roku was incredibly accommodating. The waittress, Makel (spelling?) was also excellent. She split up the check into smaller groups without a hint of a complaint, and as someone who used to serve I know that can sometimes be difficult. Makel also brought our birthday girl a cake and a crazy firecracker candle of some sort - it was awesome. I definitely recommend this venue to others!"

  • "Sushi Roku is a truly amazing venue. It combines superb quality authentic Japanese cuisine at fair prices, delivered by a caring staff. That about says it all. We have dined numerous times over the past years and never cease to be amazed. Each experience is memorable and reinforces the great tradition for us. To a person from the Manager Johnny Seo, to the Head Sushi Chef Haru, to each and every member of the Sushi Roku team they truly care and it shows."

  • "A group of 10 (5 couples) went to Sushi Roku in March of 2014. We were seated promptly but a little weird, we had 2 separate tables in this booth like area, my husband and I had to sit at different tables. We asked the waiter to provide us with five separate bills, he said no problem. We ordered food which sounded good on paper, it took forever for it to arrive and it arrived in increments, they had no idea who ordered what, it was a mess! Everything looked like it was made yesterday and just defrosted or reheated for us. No flavor, no texture, just horrible. We're from Chicago, we have good sushi here, Sushi Roku was just a big disappointment. When the bill arrived, the waiter gave me 1 bill and a pen and told me to figure it out."

  • "My husband & I visited Las Vegas for one night. We made a reservation for Sushi Roku. All I can say is that the staff made our night one to remember! The manager came over and spoke with us for a few minutes. Our waitress never skipped a beat. She gave wonderful recommendations for drinks and appetizers. The food was amazing!! And what makes it even more magical is having a street view of Las Vegas boulevard. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and you are looking down the whole strip! And what put a "cherry on top" was having a special birthday lava cake and lighted sparkler presented to us at the end. The waitress offered to take our picture and it is one that I will frame! Thanks Sushi Roku! Pleasant, Professional and Polite!"

  • "Sushi Roku is an absolute gem. The absolutely best Sashimi and Sushi we have found anywhere. My wife was born and raised in Japan and she never ceases to be amazed by the quality and authenticity of there Japanese specialties. Try the Omakase (Chef's Selection) and you will be treated to a variety of dishes you will not find elsewhere. Quality of food and beauty of presentation that is unsurpassed. The service and friendliness of everyone from their outstanding Manager (Johnny), amazing Sushi Chefs (Haru, Shu and the entire group) and phenomenal wait staff. Very knowledgeable and concerned with their customers. Outstanding Happy Hour too. You will have a remarkable culinary experience in a truly beautiful location."

  • "Sushi Roku in Las Vegas has amazing food, service and décor. They surpassed our expectations in every way. it was my friend's 60th birthday and they treated all of us so well. Totally unasked they presented her with a beautiful dessert with all the fireworks! I am an Interior Designer and was in total awe of the fabulous earthy oriental and edgy décor. The staff were quiet and attentive as they seem to drift in and out with impeccable timing. We experienced a wonderful evening none of us will ever forget."

  • "After reading all the other reviews I was expecting a little more than the experience I had when I booked reservations for lunch. The fish itself was good. Nice texture on the salmon nigiri as well as the tuna nigiri. Had 2 rolls and they were ok. The big disappointment were the size of the both the sushi pieces and the rolls, especially for the price. The other disappointment was the limited menu. I eat sushi quite often at "regular" places and this was not really much better again, especially when you consider the price. I also had the miso soup and that definitely didn't seem to be any different than if you went to a small-time Japanese restaurant in the middle of the country. I should've tried the other sushi place up the street."

  • "Lunch at Sushi Roku in Las Vegas on 3/27/2014 was one of the better meals I had all week while in town for a convention. I have eaten at many restaurants in Las Vegas over the years; many well known and high end establishments, but Sushi Roku was one place that stood out this year. I'm glad they opened at the Forum Shops in Las Vegas, and I will definitely be back."

  • "The service was great! Our server really knew the menu. She gave us good recommendations on ordering. They made accommodations for us when ordering sake. All staff were attentive to our needs. We had a great evening!"

  • "View was fantastic. If you enjoy sushi and know what's good, this was ok. There is probably better sushi at your favorite place. The truffle butter edemame was great. Oyster trio was good, but super small oysters. Sushi and rolls were ok. Dessert was just ok. Enjoyed the view with cocktails and service was good. It was so overpriced, even for Vegas, really ruined my experience."

  • "My husband and I went here because a friend recommended it. We paid $146 for very average sushi. We both had a glass of cheap Pinot Grigio, he had a sashimi platter and I had an appetizer. The food was good, but not better than any average sushi bar. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, so we rushed through our meal. The view was great if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. The decor is amazing and would be wonderful if it wasn't so cold."

  • "We sat at the bar and asked the Itamae (chef) to make recommendations staying away from the usual salmon/tuna/tempura shrimp varieties of pieces and rolls. Everything was delicious and tasted amazingly fresh. Our bill was $120 for a large warm sake, 2 miso soups, a large plate of yellowtail carpaccio, 3 orders of various rolls, and about 8 pieces of sushi (mostly coming from the premium category). Our average sushi bill is about half the $$ for the same amount of food, but it was worth it. Service was excellent, knowledgable, responsive, and friendly. I will be going back."

  • "I was nervous when we arrived, but the restaurant was alive & kicking. Food was fabulous. Our group ordered a lot of different plates - sushi, appetizers, and the Sea Bass was absolutely fabulous! Loved it!"

  • "Sushi was fantastic. But first third of meal there was a drunken Batchelorette party going where we could not hear each other even though we were shouting at each other. After the party left it was only the loud music that made quiet conversation impossible for the next third of the meal. For the last third of meal there was a party next to us with the most talkative guy, who was also the loudest, right next to us. They, had been partying before they came. At one point the manager came over and asked us how things were. We said it was noisy. But nothing was done. They did have seating areas that might have been quieter. Anyway the view of the Strip is incredible. But the noise unbearable. Would give 5 stars for overall but too much nouse."

  • "The waiter was very friendly, offering suggestions on what sushi rolls were best as well as things to do with our daughter after dinner. They also prepared sushi rolls custom ordered when my daughter didn't want exactly what was on the menu. A little pricey for sushi, but in line with overall prices in vegas"

  • "This place is great! The waiter was absolutely nice, the food was delicious especially the short ribs, and for the first time going there I would go there again! Sushi rolls were actually bigger then I thought so it comes in good portions! And overall the prices are reasonable. If anyone is a sushi foodie person this is a place to definitely try!"

  • "Booked this place on Open Table. Let me clarify "Fair" service, food service was adequate. Marked as "Fair" because they marked us as "cancelled" when we showed up to dine. More a hostess issue, not service! Over all, sushi was fresh....prepared right there. We would definitely return next trip to Las Vegas!"

  • "Great view of the strip. Sushi specialties and recommendations were great. We ate early so it was quiet."

  • "My girlfriend and I had a last minute trip to Las Vegas on Valentine's Day and of course just about everything was booked! So we went on Open Table and found out Sushi Roku had late night reservations. We went for a nice stroll and went to our dinner. We were sat at an great table next to an exquisite view of the Las Vegas strip. It was very romantic, the crowd was very hip, and the attire was semi-casual. We ordered the truffle edamame (definite recommendation) and 3 rolls of sushi to split. Don't bother going to Kabuki or any second rate sushi place because the sushi here is delicious! The only thing I would complain about is the price but you pay for quality and you look like a stud waving the check to your date at the end of the night!"

  • "We ate only Sushi and Sushi Roll. Most of Sushi were great. It was better if seaweed for Uni and Ikura were not dry."

  • "This place is so unassuming! You have to hunt it down on the third story of the Caesars Forum Shops at the north end. The food was awesome and unique, very delicious! What a view from the dining room! We've tried most all of the sushi restaurants on the strip (they are all good in their own way), but this one is not stuffy, not too busy (yet - you can still get a reservation), and it's reasonably priced (as far as the strip goes). Enjoy!"

  • "Having eaten at Sushi Roku in Los Angeles, I was at first dubious about the quality of a restaurant that requires only the freshest fish in Las Vegas. I am happy to report that the Vegas installation of this restaurant is as good, if not better than their outlets in LA. Great for a special night out or on an expense account, because the food is expensive. But for a quiet, non-smokey, beautiful location with a great view of the strip you can't beat it."

  • "This place had very fresh sushi. And they were honest. They sent 2 rolls that weren't ours and we ate them and when they realized the error still sent the correct 2 at no additional cost. We ate more than we expected to eat, but it was wonderful!"

  • "reading this? You need to go to Orbitz or Expedia, something and book tickets to Vegas just to eat here. I mean it. There is no time to gamble, catch a show, or hang out in front of the Bellagio. This is the BEST sushi i have ever had in my entire life. Trust me- I am old and I have lived in Japan. I suggest you bring zip locks to line your coat so that you can bring home black truffle tempura hand rolls in your purse. I don't know how food safe that would be but it makes me smile just thinking about! WOW!"

  • "Medium food at over average prices. That's all there is to say really. Medium room and actually the server, although nice had difficulty with the language and had little of no knowledge of the menu. Like I said medium."

  • "This used to be a great sushi place in LV. No longer. EVERY dish we ordered was bad. Such a disappointment. It's hard to say if it was a bad night, because everything we ordered the waited said it was a great call. What we actively complained about -- the very worst of the dishes and preparations -- he did nothing to accommodate. Sorry."

  • "They have a gluten free menu and seem quite knowledgeable on the costs of cross contact."
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "Sushi Roku has a lot of options for people who like sushi and people who do not eat sushi. The sushi descriptions on the menu can be misleading - for example one of the rolls we ordered had cooked salmon instead of raw salmon in it. So, I would recommend asking your server for details about the rolls before ordering."

  • "We had a very romantic dinner here on our last night in Vegas. The fresh salmon was superb and just melted in your mouth and everything we had was as wonderful! Thank you Sushi Roku for making our last night so memorable :)"

  • "The sushi was amazing! Their albacore tuna will melt in your mouth. Their panko jalapeno roll was delicious. Also the best raspberry mojito I've ever had. A must dine in Vegas."

  • "Food was really good a bit pricey though. Don't go on a empty stomach. You can easily rack your bill into the thousands cuz the food is so good you can't stop eating."
