A word from Sushi Rock
Sushi Rock is a combination of love, passion and perspective. It is the love to eat good food and drink well while doing so with great people. In providing the place for people to do this, Sushi Rock represents the perspective that both can be done in a fun and entertaining environment full of energy. Sushi Rock embodies the opportunity to be the local watering hole, the destination, the cozy meet-up place, the big group place or the special event place. Whatever the patrons needs, we believe Sushi Rock is the one place where everyone can feel comfortable in any size group sharing themselves, sharing a drink, and/or sharing good food. Continued

  • "Great ambiance. Food was just average Service was good. Sushi was "mushy""

  • "Excellent sushi and sashimi. Gyoza and bulgogi are very good also"

  • "Sushi Rock has amazing food - unfortunately though their service leaves much to be desired. I OpenTabled a reservation which they told me they could not honor. Then it took an hour and a half to get our order, of which half was never sent to the kitchen to be made. Overall, it was a disappointing experience."

  • "Great tunes if you like old school metal and rock, food was very good. I would like to try sitting outside next time if the weather is nice."

  • "Perfect atmosphere for drinks, great sushi and rockin' music. Very vibrant bar scene and great outdoor seating. Had wonderful saki selection, beers and mixed drinks. Along with great Sushi, sashimi, and nigiri selections there are also other Japanese meal items available as well as appetizers for those who may not like sushi. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. The only downside is the music is loud so if you want quiet and cozy this isn't it! Otherwise, I highly recommend. Try the "Stairway to Heaven", "Light my Fire" and "Volcano" rolls-- yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy."

  • "The food is consistently good, and the people on staff are great. They have a large outdoor seating area, but get there early because on nice days it gets full fast. Fun decor inside."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. May become one of my favorites and will recommend to friends "

  • "Good food, drinks and the best sushi chefs around!"

  • "This was our second adventure out to Sushi Rock. The rolls are all unique and delicious. Special nod to the Ziggy Stardust roll. Great for a date, a group, or eating alone."

  • "I had been to Sushi Rock many times for dinner and always loved it. But I had never been there for lunch. The place was busy and now I see why. Chef Steve has introduced several different Bento Box lunches with sliced steak, pork or chicken. I could barely eat all the food they brought and my companions had to take some home. Absolutely delicious. It was so fantastic on Wednesday that I went back again the next day..."

  • "You must get the Nachos with wonton chips and the Tornado sushi rolls...the Nachos are HUGE and the sushi roll is to die for! Great service and ambience. Very cool idea. "

  • "The sushi is pretty good but it's not the best I've had. The fried oysters are not good but everything else is decent enough. It's not a place I would revisit, I'll probably try to find another sushi spot. But overall it's not a bad restaurant just not great. A little on the bland side. "

  • "Food was amazing however there was not enough wait staff present to accommodate the number of people dining at the restaurant. Our server was very polite and efficient despite the high volume of customers. Once food/drink orders were placed there was minimal delay. It was just getting someone to acknowledge our table and tend to us that took twenty minutes. "

  • "The sushi here is the very best and freshest I have found Arlington. Chef/owner Steve Yoon has made the menu better since the change of ownership and he is super attentive to his customers. Fresh, unique flavor combinations and authentic sushi and noodle dishes. LOVE the braised short ribs, Light my fire roll, Shrimp Shumai soup, Pork Katsu, and yummy sake and cocktails like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Mary Jane's Last Dance (both with Lychee, my favorite!) They have great nightly drink specials, like half off wine, draft, or rail- depending on the night. This is our go-to neighborhood place and I love to sit outside on the patio when the weather's nice! "

  • "we booked Sunday brunch reservations. We walked in and stood for a while before someone seated us and passed out the dinner menu. I went up and asked for thebrunch menu and was told that there wasn't a brunch menu that you choose this and included is this and that. The hostess rattled off a lot of information and then said its $50pp. I asked about the kids,$50 for our children to eat brunch especially without a menu to even see what your getting is ridiculous and she shrugged her shoulders and said "oh...they could just order a roll or something"we had recommended sushi rock to a few of our friends. I really hope our friends don't go on a Sunday or that the restaurant will print brunch menus and train the staff! "

  • "sushi was average, service was average and ambiance was lacking. the trendy, neon-lit decor and too-loud for dinner conversation music mix (which wasn't really rock most of the time we were there) made for a passable experience. always glad to try new restaurants however this will not be one of our regular spots. go to old town, ax for the best sushi in the area..."

  • "Excellent sushi. Great variety and taste. Ambiance and decorations are awesome."

  • "The sushi was very good. Our favorite roll was the Volcano Roll - they gave a very generous portion of crab on top of it. The downside is that the seating is absolutely CRAMPED. It took the hostess about 5 minutes after we arrived just to decide where to seat us in the tiny restaurant, and then once she finally decided, she placed us at a tiny little table directly between two other tables. The tables on either side of us were less than a foot away, and so it was rather uncomfortable to be sitting so close to other people who were likewise just trying to have a nice dinner. Overall, not a bad restaurant, but not great."

  • "I love this place but under new management things have changed. They now charge $35 per person for large parties( like when you reserve a private room for corporation party or something). So if you wanted to dine there with group of friends it wouldn't work because everyone is responsible for their checks! Besides that nonsense I love the food and I highly recommend this place to anyone."

  • "Sushi rock has a good and fun atmosphere and the sushi was decent, but our service sucked. Luckily the server tried to make up for it with some free sake shots so the effort was appreciated but the experience would have been better if the service had been."

  • "I've been here a few times and each time the experience is always a little bit more less than ideal. While the host tried to be accommodating they were flustered. When they sat us, they forgot to tell a server to pick us up as we were not in anyone apparent section. Luckily we were with friends and were able to talk amongst ourselves but the 25 minute wait time and the fact that we asked three different bussers find our server and they never did was a bit annoying. Not until we went to the host stand did anyone get us a server and when she walked up she seemed annoyed she had to wait on us. The quickest we ever saw her come to the table was to pick up the check."

  • "Empty early on Sunday night but the food still took quite some time to be prepared. However, it was still yummy. Have to try the braised beef buns and the tuna tower!"

  • "the food was ok, the makis where good but i had a wonton nachos with wasabi before that I though they made a great appetizer and now the recipe was change to pico de gallo, olives, jalapeños and cheese in a weird combination, The rest of the food was very good but service was not ok"

  • "Food was fine, but we went on New Year's Eve and they were setting up for a party. It was rather loud and the service was distracted, probably due to getting ready for the party. If I were in the area I might try again on a regular evening."

  • "We just went to Sushi Rock for the first time. Our kids, 9 and 11, came with us. Our 9 year old isn't a sushi fan but was immediately able to find something he would enjoy on the menu. We rate the sushi at the top of places we have tried in the DC area and will definitely return with and without the kids. Our server was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful deciding what we should order. She even went out of her way to take pictures for us being that it was New Year’s Eve. I would definitely recommend this restaurant over many other sushi places in the area."

  • "This was our second time at Sushi Rock and it was a great place to eat. The first time we were with a group and the food was fantastic. Food was great this time though my wife had wanted Uni and they were out of it. Staff was very friendly and brought out a tasty dessert for my wife's birthday."

  • "I cannot say enough good things about Sushi Rock in Courthouse. It is a really cool atmosphere, with pictures of rock stars on the walls, a grand piano that doubles as a table, and cymbals that are made into light fixtures, Sushi Rock seems to have nailed the decor of a "cool" spot. The food is every bit as good as the ambiance if not better. The sushi is better than the entrees, but both are good choices. Steve, the owner I think, is always around with a friendly smile and seems to know half the tables by name. I highly recommend you check it out!"

  • "We sat downstairs in the main dining room and there was a party going on upstairs on their half level terrace. Very energetic feeling and the food was great. From half priced drinks to the pork buns to the chef's specialty rolls I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu."

  • "Sushi was incredible. Atmosphere was good as well. It was busy so the food took a long time, otherwise great experience."

  • "I had a one of the best experiences as my friends and I celebrated my birthday. I was very impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff for a larger group of 20. The dinner ran very smoothly and our waiters were more than willing to accommodate our requests. Not to mention, the food was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant esp for those with larger groups!"

  • "Tuna tartare was delicious, highly recommend. Also liked the volcano specialty roll--very filling. Very much enjoyed "Light My Fire"; it features a tasty sauce. Not equally impressed by "Free Fallin'" as it lacked the same flavorful taste as the other dishes."
