Sushi of Gari- Upper East SideFood fantastic, ambience so soThe food is dedicated. I ate 13 sushi, including 1 roll. After that, I felt full. I chose to seat at the sushi bar, then I can see chefs making my sushi. They were very busy, merely talked, except introducing the sushi. There was a girl seated next two seat to me, she was noisy, keep asking her mother a lot of question loudly.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough the chef's tastingAlthough the chef's tasting menu was tempting, we stayed with hand rolls and cut rolls - which were absolutely wonderful. Seared salmon was everyone's least favorite, but everyone really liked the scallop, tempura shrimp, spicy shrimp, and I enjoyed the smelt roe roll. We also ordered a few starters - which were tasty, but very tiny: spinach with sesame was about one spoonful. There seemed to be a thriving take-out business and the quality of the food was so good that we decided it would be worth it, next time we're bringing in Japanese.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic.I've been meaning to come here for forever - it didn't disappoint. Expensive but well worth it. Really great experience.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to our lofty expectationsWe have been talking about going here for years. The place is not cheap, but when the bill comes you know exactly what you paid for.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey, because we orderedPricey, because we ordered the chef's special sushi creations, but worth every penny! I have never tasted better sushi, and neither has my niece who is half Japanese and goes to Japan regularly.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sushi in New York CityBest Sushi in New York City Creative and as fresh as it gets.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sushi in NYC!!!The Best Sushi in New York. Only negative was that they were unable to figure out how to use our visa gift card and we have never had a problem in the past with other restaurants.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAt the level of Japanese standardsYou will find at Sushi of Gari the same atmosphere and good tastes of Japan, that I visited quite often. I really recommend. It is better to make a reservation as this restaurant is very busy.6/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
