There was music (Afro-Cuban) that night, and it was nice to have in the background. Although it was a little noise, it was still worth it. Service was great. Waiters were friendly. Before you start, former Bond St. chef Henry asks you what you like and don't like....and then the fun begins. From an opening dish of fresh clams and oysters (a dozen for two of us), through incredible courses such as fresh scallop sashimi, and clam soup, this dinner was of superb quality and an incredible value. Other courses included Foie Gras with Orange, Monkfish Liver (the best I've ever had), a giant sashimi platter, and then a giant sushi platter. There were two types of toro served and many other surprises brought out to us by the head chef Henry.

I sat at the sushi bar and watched the chefs make some amazing delights. The Tempura Appetizer was common however the Tuna Tartar was great. I also had the crunchy spicy roll combo which came with a nice side salad and the Chelsea Rainbow Signature Roll - Fresh and the presentation was outstanding.
While I am not a big Sashimi fan the man's plate next to me was a work of art and he said some of the freshest sushi he's had since leaving San Francisco...

But I was more than pleasantly surprised when I finally went in. The sushi is outstanding. I've never written a review before. So that's how good it is. So glad that we didn't get talked out of goin... it was a delicious meal! We enjoyed several sushi rolls as well as a sushi/sashimi chef's choice platter. The fish was very fresh. Took advantage of the house saki two-for-one special. Service was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Will be saving this location for my next NYC visit.12/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
