Always try to eat here on our trips to Asheville. Fridays' weather was perfect for eating out on the terrace. I'm convinced because we reserved through open table we got the best table for two along the edge for a fabulous view. The food while a little pricey was very good but that's not the reason we eat here. Service was excellent as well!

Fantastic food, fantastic location, on a wild and stormy night under the heaters on the patio, with ever changing views and flashes of lightening. The only way to celebrate our 36 th wedding anniversary. Great food -perfect steak and exquisite salmon complemented with excellent wines attentive and professional service. Cannot wait for our next anniversary. Thank you

The view from the Sunset Terrace is not to be missed when you are in Asheville. The day was cool & breezy (mid 60's & partly cloudy), the upper terrace has wind-breaks and heaters and was quite comfortable. The wait staff offered lap blankets - we did not need them, but it was good to know they were available. Four of us shared a Devil's Cheesecake which was worth every penny. The Devil's Cheesecake is a chocolate fudge cake layered with ganache and topped with a NY style cheesecake and then everything covered with chocolate ganache and white cheesecake type decorations. We agreed YUM! The Bloody Mary's were too spicy, & we like spicy food. The menu doesn't note the level of heat. Next time, we'll ask for extra tomato juice or less spicy.

How could you go wrong with the Terrace? The views are spectacular, (and I'm a local) the servers had a great deal of knowledge about the menu, and wines and were attentive to our needs. The food was delicious, but the menu lacked creativity and a willingness to push the envelope. They stuck with the favorites. The steaks were cooked to order and the salads fresh and appetizing. Overall, 4 of 5 stars.

Never disappointed dining at the Sunset Terrace. The service was excellent! Food delicious and the view outstanding. Got there before sunset and absolutely beautiful. We started with the wedge salad. For our main course, we ordered the filet and buttered scallops. No room for dessert this time, but have had it on prior dining. Well worth the money.

Sunset Terrace was a place we had on our Asheville dining bucket list, for the view primarily, so we picked a clear evening with the sun setting at 7 to get the full effect, which worked out wonderfully. I was disappointed in the appetizer choices and my steak was cooked beyond the medium that I ordered. Enjoyed the fact that there is no rush although the place was full. It's really expensive. You can get a drink and small plates at the Edison in the same building, same view, one-third the cost. I recommend that.

Our server was Chelsey A and I mentioned that the onion soup was not as good as when I had it in July and her response was, "some batches are better than others". None of the "stuff" was on the top of the soup, only some unmelted cheese. Our dinners were served by male waitstaff and we never saw her again until she came to ask about desert. Otherwise, everything we had was very good. The bank is still processing my payment for the bar and the dinner but right now the amount posted is $13.68 higher for dinner and $2.49 higher at the bar than my receipts reflect. I'll get back to you if I am actually charged these amounts. I did tip on both receipts. I will come back again, just don't know if I'll order the soup.

The food is very good. The french onion soup is excellent. We both had filets, which were cooked to order. Our server said it was black angus, top 2 % of choice, but no noticeable difference to my taste buds. service was attentive, but not overbearing. Their wine prices are on the high end ( 3x retail bottle price), and they need to pay attention to wine serving temperatures. I bought a $15 glass of Schug chadonnay at the lobby bar, and it was ice cold. I had to warm it with my hands for 10 mins before I could drink it. Then when we ordered glasses of Cab with dinner, they were room temp ! This is a high end establishment, and I saw a large wine cooler at the inside bar. Not sure why it wasn't used for the wines that I ordered

Romantic, relaxing atmosphere. It's a must visit if you're here with your special someone. The service is crisp, the quality of food is stellar. Not very loud in flavor and spice but considering the average demographic of the diners, this is not surprising and forgive able because of the amazing view. Must visit.

Three of us met at the Grove Park Inn and lunched on the terrace. The beginning fall view is breathtaking. It was a little windy and crisp, but the overhead heaters kept up comfortable. The service by Stan was very prompt and attentive. He was very knowledgeable about the menu items and made helpful suggestions. The dishes that we selected were delicious and beautifully presented by the chef. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! We will be back...........:)

The food here is on par with most places in Asheville. Not the absolute best, but still very, very good. (places like the Admiral and Curate set a high bar) It's a bit pricier too, but if you actually eat here when there's a good sunset it's absolutely magical, and made me feel like I was royalty at a banquet at some castle in the sky. The service was excellent (Asheville usually doesn't set a high bar in this department) and the atmosphere here beats the pants off most everywhere else in town. There's really nowhere else like it around . . . well, perhaps the Biltmore, but I prefer the raw stone and the wonderful 20's feel of the Grove Park.

We had dinner last Friday and words cannot describe what a wonderful experience we had! The views were second to none on the terrace watching the sunset on the Blue Ridge Mountains with Asheville in the distant. Mandy did an exceptional job with us with her recommendation, professional service, and never ending smile! She convinced us to order the Chef's special which was a 33oz Waygu dry aged rib eye with Groth wine and salads. The meal was just heavenly! The chef came and cut the steak tableside which was cooked to perfection! Of course we had to get the devil chocolate cake (dark chocolate cake topped with cheesecake). Fabulous meal, fantastic views & extremely friendly staff - what else could you ask for? Definitely will come back again

The food and scenery at this restaurant at the Omni Grove Park Inn are fantastic - daily soup is always superb, sandwiches you can't finish, a fine linguini with shrimp and vegetables with a broth that is very light, biscuits that are the best I have ever had. Only two problems - a 35 minute wait for lunch and prices that will make you wince. My husband and I have been to the Grove Park many times, and always had great food. This time (since being purchased by the Omni Hotel group) the food was still great, but the service was terrible, and the prices exhorbitant for what was delivered. $24 for Linguini with Shrimp and vegetables had very few vegetables but an excellent broth and about three shrimp. OK for lunch but not for $24.00.

We were encouraged to go to the Inn to see this marvelous place and all its history. And it truly is remarkable. Rustic yet modern with all the amenities. But, the food is average at full-tilt prices. The patio is a great place to dine and our table was on the rail looking over the grounds. Just wish we had gone for lunch and ordered something a little more simple that they could manage.

We had a birthday dinner Saturday night at the Sunset Terrace and its now my favorite 'fancy' dinner memory! The food was fabulous. I had the shrimp primavera. The shrimp were cooked perfectly (and there were about 8 HUGE shrimp) and the sauce was just fantastic. Other diners had the filet, rib eye and salmon and all were wonderful too. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding and the cheesecake/chocolate cake combo were amazing! Our server was attentive but not overly present. The atmosphere was a step up from casual fare but it still felt comfortable and not stuffy. The view is gorgeous! Overall, great experience that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a special way to mark their trip to Asheville.
