A word from Sunset Sams at Gaylord Palms Resort
The towering mast of a 60-foot sailboat is the landmark for this “harbor of hip!” Sunset Sam’s offers New World Floridian cuisine showcased in one of the most fun and creative settings at Gaylord Palms!

Step aboard the SS Gaylord sailboat, docked in the heart of Key West’s
Southernmost Point, for an experience unlike any other.

If the atmosphere – and the island-style music – fail to seduce your senses, the sinful desserts will. Look no further – you’ve found the good life!

Diner Reviews
  • "My chicken was not cooked through. Excellent flavor, however...."

  • "We had lunch at Sunset Sam's and ate on the boat. Our two children loved being able to look in the water and see the fish while they were eating. We had turkey melt, fish tacos and salmon. We all enjoyed our food and the presentation. Our server was exceptionally attentive. My only complaint would be that it was a little pricey. The prices were geared to tourists and conventioneers. Being local, we appreciated the fact that they validated our parking, so we didn't have to pay for parking. It was a fun place to go, but would only come on a special occasion because of the cost."

  • "Excellent service. Didn't expect the surprise key lime tart with candle at end of meal. (Husband's birthday). Calamari was excellent. Sat outside on the deck and were there for the fish feeding. Very relaxing for a nice lunch. Would definitely do this again."

  • "Expensive and very small portions. Food quality and beer list very poor. Looks awesome but food does not match the place very sad as it could be the gem of this hotel"

  • "Hate to be a debbie downer, but I went to this restaurant with my son for lunch. We ordered the calamari to share. It was decent. I had the fish tacos, which was a blackened mahi mahi, and they were just ok. My son order the shrimp linguini--the shrimp didn't look so hot, and I tasted one---awful. Rubbery and gross. He commented that the linguini was overdue and mushy. We both had two beers. Our bill was $97.00 before tip. The restaurant is located inside a nice resort hotel, but the atmosphere was less than elegant. Although I appreciate casual attire, especially on vacation, I don't feel wearing a bathing suit to lunch is appropriate as several patrons were in their suits. THUMBS DOWN. PS our waitress was nice, but very very quiet...could"

  • "so we say "great for outdoor dining"; however the outdoors in totally under an atrium so you feel like it's outdoors but you are totally in climate controlled exotic environment. it's a stunning and interesting place - especially for visitors. they love it. locals enjoy it too."

  • "Our group of 8 enjoyed a variety of items from the menu including appetizers, entrees & drinks. Everything was delicious. Two from our party order the Mahi Mahi dinner which was superb. The service was excellent. Our table was ready upon arrival with space for our baby seat. When our 8 month old granddaughter was ready for bedtime, our waiter graciously packed our coffee to go. We had a wonderful celebration."
