Sunset Grille - Chestnut Mountain
Outstanding Mother's Day Brunch! We visited Chestnut Mountain for Mother's Day Brunch 2013. Although the resort itself could use a little updating, the two side-by-side restaraunts were updated. We had a window view (definitely request one if you can!) looking out over the now-green ski slopes and meandering Mississippi River. The view was outstanding. The food was delicious. There was quite a bit to chose from and the champagne fountain was a big hit. The large back deck of the dining area had amazing vistas, so I imagine that would be really nice once the weather is warm enough.
Service was friendly and attentive, especially for a buffet style brunch. The manager made his rounds, inquiring about our visit and everyone wished us a Happy Mother's Day. I had the beef tenderloins with cheesy risotto and it was very good but in my opinion the presentation was a little off with the risotto piled high in the middle of the plate and the beef tenderloins laid on top. Just saying it could have been done better. I thought the menu was a bit limited and the restaurant was pricey with most of the entree's being around $28-$30. I guess you pay for the view, which is a fantastic view of the Mississippi valley and a great sunset if you are there in the evening.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for our anniversary.Went there for our anniversary. It is in between seasons so we were the only ones there.
Food and service was good and the view of the Mississippi was great. Would recommend it but not sure how it would be when there is a crowd.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
