Diner Reviews
  • "Had dinner at Sunnyside to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was perfect! The ambiance was great, cozy with wonderful views and the service was attentive. I enjoyed the menu, it was not too stuffy and had a good amount of options. And whatever you do, save room for their signature dessert. Will definitely be returning to Sunnyside for years to come!"

  • "We were greeted warmly by all, from the front desk to our server, the busboy and the host. All seemed to pitch in equally for a seamless experience. The food was divine"

  • "We had a fantastic meal at Sunnyside Thursday night. St Helena was the winery pouring a Sauvingon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvingon, both were very nice. The highlight of the evening was the Elk Loin crusted with spices plated with a berry reduction as well as the trio of fish! An excellent meal with good wine was enjoyed by all!"

  • "This was our first visit since Sunnyside hired a new chef and redid their menu. A very pleasant surprise. While Sunnyside has always be a favorite, the new menu was welcomed. The food and service were great even on a busy night. We will be back."

  • "For over five years Sunnyside has been our group's destination for Thanksgiving dinner. Upon arriving we were seated immediately at our favorite booth. We were greeting by our waiter but it took quite a while to place a drink order. Once the wine arrived all seemed to flow perfectly. The tradition turkey meal was delicious. A few at our table ordered from the vast menu and enjoyed a tasty meal. After the dessert course, we were given a turkey sandwich in a brown bag to take home. A delightful surprise and lovely touch. Sunnyside has the Thanksgiving dinner experience dialed-in. Everyone enjoyed the evening and no one had to clean up!!"

  • "This is a restaurant which is a favorite among locals and frequent visitors from the bay area. This is a restaurant that really knows how to prepare zucchini sticks. The kobe burger is sensational and other items on the menu are also good. Don't miss the hula pie, also a favorite."

  • "We got engaged at Sunnyside, so it will always been a special place for us! Our recent dining experience was outstanding. I had a stuffed scallop dish that was truly heavenly. Presentation was beautiful, and the taste kept me raving about it all through dinner! My husband had the Rib Eye Steak, and he loved it! Very tender and yummy."

  • "Would have given the food a 5 star rating because it tasted wonderful, but it came out of the kitchen cold...Twice. They even totally remaid the dish for us... Still... The evening and entire Sunnyside staff is wonderful."

  • "My girlfriend and i stayed in the sunnyside hotel which was great! Had a package deal where we got a $60 dinning credit to the restaurant. Had a bottle of wine before we went downstairs to eat. We sat inside by the patio and watched a full moon rise right behind us. Perfect view of the lake as its right on the water. Food was very flavorful and filling as we got good portions with fast, attentive and accurate service. Price was not bad either two entrees and two sides for $43. Will be coming back again!! Thanks sunnyside."

  • "Good food, but not all items are good price-performers. Heirloom tomatoes with burrata are outstanding, while the asparagus salad insubstantial--couldn't find any of the fennel that was listed as an ingredient. The clam chowder was way too thick with starch, gloppy texture and served lukewarm. Meats are generally good. The scallops with risotto cakes are delicious but 3 scallops is a bit scanty for the price -- went home hungry. Service is friendly but pacing can be off. The wines by the glass are generally well selected and priced reasonably. Be sure to try Fish Tacos at the Grill -- They are terrific!!!"

  • "Some dishes were outstanding, others disasters. If you know the menu well or are lucky, you can have a great meal. If not, well... The setting is wonderful, right on the lake. Even on a Monday night, the place was packed."
