We were out in Lake Tahoe for a work conference and wanted to have a work dinner offsite. After checking online reviews, we found Sunnyside. Good decision. Gracious and attentive service. Excellent execution of American favorites (with the occassional twist). All on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Highly recommended.

Sunnyside seems to have lost some of the magic in it's food and menu that made it and the great lake view so worthwhile. The menu has many of the same items that have been on it for years. And some of the dishes had tricky little relishes that added nothing and in some cases took away from the main dish. It was an anniversary dinner for both couples. We told them when we made the reservation, when we arrived and when the waitress introduced herself. In past years they have always done a little something special for our anniversary - - this year - - nothing. They need to take a good look at the menu and re-invent themselves to the high quality restaurant they have been in years past. We won't be back until they do.

Four of us wanted a special place to celebrate a birthday. This was it! We had great food, fun appetizers and a friendly, attentive server. The view was amazing! Outside dining is highly recommended if you are in the area during warm months. Two of us had the elk, which was perfect. One had the halibut and raved about it. The fourth person had the chicken. He said it was really good, but the couscous was not the best. When we are in the area again, we will definitely return to this restaurant!

We dined here on a Saturday night after reading some great reviews and hoping for some good food with a nice view. It's true there's a nice view, even from the Lakeside dining room which is indoors. However, sitting down and enjoying the view was the high point of the night. Service, while attempting to be friendly, was inefficient and very slow. There were many staff running around who didn't appear to know what they were doing. The food came out and was either way over salted or so bland it was inedible. In the risotto, each component was at 3 different temperatures and the rice was mush. Similarly, the crust of the peach cobbler wasn't even cooked all the way through. Nice place for view and drinks. Stay far away from the food.

Server was not good. His rushed the dinner process was to get us in then out. Had to ask for drinks. The food was mediocre. It was like dining at Applebee's on the lake for 2 for $125.00 not what I expected. Not fine dining.

Great relaxing atmosphere, stunning views of the lake, decent menu choices,we ordered the Elk strip and the New York steak, unforunately, while both were cooked to perfection, both were oversalted to the point of interfering with the taste of the meat. Made us both wonder if the chef or kitchen are smokers? Would have given 5 stars otherwise....

We love spending an evening at Sunnyside. The views are beautiful. The service was good. We ordered 4 dishes one being the special (steak) it was $38. The presentation was not very appealing and the portion was stingy. It was disappointing. We also had the gnocchi and Mediterranean chicken, both were delicious. As much as we love Sunnyside and it's breathtaking views, next time we would rather sit outside on the deck and eat on the otherside with still beautiful views and cheaper prices. Also, I booked our reservation on open table and there was no option to chose indoor or outdoor seating. I thought we would be seated outdoors but when we arrived the hostess said it would be an hour before we could sit outdoors.

Sunnyside was our favorite meal in Tahoe. My 4 year old especially loved playing by the water in between courses. The food was amazing, especially the halibut! The service was excellent. I would recommend sitting on the outdoor deck to see all the Boats and go at sunset for great views. Make sure to get the chocolate moose for dessert!

This restaurant has a great location on the lake. We used to be regular customers, but with the change in chefs, we feel the food has declined in quality, and we do not go there much anymore. We had the halibut special with crab--fish was very dry

Not having eaten at Sunnyside for many years, we visited it on a crowded Sunday August night for dinner. Due to afternoon showers, the deck seating was closed so our 7 p.m. reservation got pushed back about 35-minutes (with apologies from the hostess). We found a bar table and enjoyed a cocktail while waiting. The beautifully appointed, lakefront dining room was packed, and with good reason. The food was very good, with large portion sizes. I ordered the seafood salad off the bar menu and loved it. The scallop special entree of the day was also memorable. A very romantic window view table made for a lovely evening and meal. Management knows how to cater to guests and cook top-notch food. Don't miss the Hula Pie for dessert!

It isn't by accident that this restaurant continues to thrive. The food is amazing and the staff is well versed in the menu and wine list. We were dinning on the deck and the wind and clouds came in very quickly. The staff immediately got into overdrive and made sure that everything was secure and that all of the guests were comfortable even going so far as to offering jackets if you didn't have one and wanted to remain outside. This is a must visit restaurant if you are in the Tahoe region.

My husband and I dined at Sunnyside for our anniversary and it was great! My husband tried the Elk and said it was the best cut of meat he has had in very long time! Which he eats lots of meat so that is saying a lot. I also really enjoyed the steak I got. I have heard that Sunnyside has changed chef's in the last year and a half and it really shows from once only going for the great view and now I can say the food! Our server was outstanding!

I won a gift certificate to this restaurant from a bridal faire, and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing - we took another couple and had the ravioli, Kobe burger, scallops, and the Daily Special which was an elk steak. I tried everyone's food and it was all fantastic! It is definitely on the expensive side, but it is worth it. The service was absolutely delightful. We also all had a round of the Sunnyside Margaritas, which were extremely yummy. I will definitely be returning in the future if I have any special occassions that warrant a nice dining experience. To note, we ate in the Lakeside Dining Room - there are other, more casual and kid-appropriate dining areas that I'm sure are just as fantastic.

Easter Brunch has been a tradition for over 20 years. This Easter brought superb weather, with Lake Tahoe as the backdrop. The annual Easter Egg Hunt is a tradition - I remember searching for eggs in a foot of snow. The food was good. We were a little disappointed that the Veggie Benedict was not on the menu, as well as the chocolate covered strawberries. The selection was paired down a bit - but still pretty good. The views are incredible - the perfect way to spend Easter Day.
