Had a great evening dining with
family to celebrate my husbands birthday! Fantastic service, delicious food and great atmosphere. It's a neighborhood gem that we will be visiting more often."

Very nice first time experience.
The hostess was very friendly!"

The outside patio was nice and had
so many heaters it was actually warmer than inside on a cool but not cold night. the ambience and menu were good. There was a band inside and VERY loud in there but nice outside. Our waitress was forgetful. The butternut squash soup was NOT good but the rest of our food was good."

This place does NOT disappoint.
The service is always exceptional and it is close to home. Prices are good and the food delicious."

Food was great. The waitress was
very accommodating to us. Everything was wonderful the only down side is our waitress came back and told me she couldn't get our visa gift are to work, so I had to use cash which I didn't want to do. Lamb was awesome. Cooked to perfection, nice and trimmed Five cheese chicken past, was off the hook"

Great place to go for lunch if you
don't want to wait for a table. I've been there for dinner and it was packed. The day I went for lunch, there were two other diners. Lots of variety on the menu. Honey cilantro chicken sandwich was tasty but oversauced. Toffee cake tasted good but didn't taste like toffee and texture suggested it wasn't made fresh that day."

Food was very good with a varied
menu. Service was excellent and attentive. The mussels in saffron sauce were great."

Great place! My husband and I were
looking for a place half-way between San Diego and Los Angeles so we could meet friends for dinner. Sundried Tomato was easily accessible off the freeway, and the food was delicious! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it."
Dined on 7/12/2012
We go there all the time. We
really like yge food and prices. Spicy french fries are really good!!"

It was the 3rd time to dine here.
The service was OK, but food was not as good as it was before. I ordered seafood trio this time again. It was salty and seafood was not that fresh. The portion was much smaller than before. Very disappointed."

The Sundried Tomato is the only
decent restaurant inland from San Clemente proper - a fabulous addition to the area. The food is excellent and imaginative, service is generally friendly and very competent. When the weather is good (and it usually is) the outdoor seating area is a delight. Other restaurants in the area have failed because they were poorly executed, not because of any lack of culinary enthusiasm or disposable income. The Sundried Tomato is proof that if you provide a good product, they will come."

had the restaurant week lunch
special. It did not stand out, as special, the sundried tomato hummus, was watery and had little flavor. A mixture of 3 salads for the main course was not different enough to be distinguishable, and they had run out of the chocolate sorbet by the time we ordered. This restaurant can definitely dobetter, and has done so in the past. Good service, the coffee we ordered was cold, and we had to wait for a new pot to be brewed."
Dined on 2/29/2012
Poor choice. Had to find out for
myself what the buz was. People were telling me that the food was OK. It's a shame!"
Dined on 2/24/2012
It was a big night, and I get that
they were overwhelmed, but it was annoying standing waiting for 45 min, while the hostess was telling walk-ins that it was just a 10 min wait. Oh, and they got seated before us, at better tables (I ate with my jacket on because of the draft from the door). Food was pretty good though, and the waiter was trying."
Dined on 2/14/2012
Had a nice meal on Valentine's
Day, got a reservation at the last minute thru Open Table. Our food was quite late getting to us but they made amends by removing an entree and appetizer without us even asking. However I do not believe that is a normal thing at all, being Valentine's day they were just bursting at the seems with patrons and orders. The waiter was very nice and extremely apologetic. I will definitely go again... and again."

Food was outstanding. Very fresh
ingredients served in an interesting manner. Everything had a bit of a twist. Six of us dined and everyone enjoyed his/her meal....."

Love this place. Go all the time.
Chef is imaginative, portions are appropriate and prices are great."

As good as always! A GREAT place
for dining in the neighborhood."

Came with my boyfriend and 2
friends, we are all fairly young (early 20's) and the waitress literally treated us like we were 12. When we ordered only a bottle of water she said "are you sure you guys don't want like a root beer or something?" um no. She barley checked on us, gave us attitude when she did, forgot my friends wine and just overall treated us bad. If that wasn't bad enough,my friend who ordered the salad with no wontons and dressing on the side, had both on it. And my pasta was overlooked with over cooked chewey veiny chicken. Bad. Just bad."

This is among our favorites in San
Clemente. The restaurant is close to home and they have a fabulous Happy Hour. The food is truly wonderful and the service excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE!!! We always leave VERY content!!!"

Salmon was outstanding and the
salad sampler was amazing!"

Great place to go for good food
and good portions. Our group had the opah, half chicken and tournedos of beef and we all cleaned our plates! We also had the lemon tart, coconut cheesecake and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was the best- tangy and creamy with meringue to die for. The texture of the cheesecake was too stringy. We would've preferred toasted coconut on top instead of incorporated into cheesecake filling. Bread pudding was too dense but tasted good with lots of the cream poured all over."
Dined on 9/10/2011
restaurant. Lamb burger, sandwhichs and salad are very tasty. Say clear of the 3 cheese spicy chicken pasta dish as it's a bit of a sloppy mess. Sometimes the patio can be over run by kids!"
Dined on 9/2/2011
Consistently good food for lunch
or dinner. A real "neighborhood gem"!"
Dined on 8/26/2011
The service was outstanding. The
food was pleasantly tasty. The serving size of the pasta's were generous. The booth's were tight and the prices were higher than they should be by about $3.00 + per plate but worth it if you only go twice a year."
Dined on 8/23/2011
Food was excellent, esp. the
appetizers. Service was a bit on the slow side; the waiter gave us a glass of wine on the house after waiting too long."
Dined on 8/13/2011
Good food, excellent service. I
would tone down the strong odor of cleaning chemicals that permeated the restaurant as we entered & while we had lunch."
Dined on 8/6/2011
I ordered a seafood medley for
dinner and was dissapointed. I only had one of each seafood, i.e. one shrimp, one scallop, one kind of fish, & one of another fish. Not worth the money!"
Dined on 7/28/2011
Rack of lamb was excellent but
portion was on the small side. My wife's seared ahi was also very good. Overall had a very good dining experience"
Dined on 7/16/2011
Food was good. Drink service
fair, they did not have Jack Daniels....said they've been out for 4 days. Didn't have Gentleman's Jack....same reason. Service was somewhat slow, perhaps we hit them on an off day. Not fair to judge on first visit. I will visit again with the thought my next experience will be good."
Dined on 7/15/2011
A small restaurant with "wow"
great food /presentation and fair pricing. A definite restaurant "find". We're sold on going once a week for sure!"
Dined on 7/11/2011
Our experience was very good. We
arrived early and were immediatly accomodated. Very good server, The food was exceptional and you MUST try their signature sundried tomato soup! Without a doubt the best restaurant in Talega!!!"
Dined on 6/10/2011
This place is OK if you're not
used to top-notch food. San Clemente has much better options for a lower price - Nick's is a better choice."
Dined on 6/6/2011
Good food. Good presentation of
food. Limited, but nice selection of wines and beers."
Dined on 4/23/2011
We've been to all 3 Sundried
locations and without exception every visit has been outstanding. The food and service are always outstanding. The bar personnel know how to make a great cosmo too."
Dined on 4/9/2011
I was pleasantly surprised!
Delicious steak at reasonable prices. Fun signature drinks as well."
Dined on 4/2/2011
Our family of 4 enjoyed our dinner
at STC. Food was good and the service was terrific. Nice neighborhood place."

A great choice for OC Restaurant
Week. Wonderful food and delightful service."
Dined on 3/4/2011
I have been to this particular SDT
cafe a few times, but this was by far the most disappointing. My co-worker and I went on Friday of OC restaurant week, we both ordered the lunch prix-fix menu. Maybe the staff had had enough by then, but besides the limited menu options, the food was mediocre at best and the service was dismal. The food server (not our waiter, who was friendly) brought our lunch entrés well before we had finished our first course and as we were seated at the tiniest of two-top tables, he stood there somewhat impatiently while we tried to move everything else in order to fit the additional plates. Think I'll stick to dining at the bar, at least the bartender is attentive."
