She wished Happy Birthday to my daughter which I had entered under "Special Requests" online. The service was most attentive. Even though the day was cloudy; it was sunny inside due to the service.
The brunch menu was reasonable in selection and price. We didn't know it but they also validate parking in the hotel! And the hotel staff was friendly as well. Well, the restaurant exceeded our expectations. The view is indeed spectacular but the food and service are also very good. Yes, it is pricey but I think well worth it if you are visiting from out of town or have a special occasion. Would be perfect for a proposal.The only sour note was the very rude greeter at the floor level elevator who insisted we did not have a reservation despite the fact that we checked earlier in the day and I could see our name on the screen. When I pointed it out, he asked us to step away from the screen and then argued that we had spelled our name wrong and that's why he couldnt find it. At the time of this review, the restaurant was scheduled to undergo a major 5 month long renovation within one week, so those issues will be addressed. In summation: it is a wonderfully elegant setting for a special occasion or romantic dinner. I also forgot that the restaurant spins, which lead to a waiter returning my purse that I had placed it on the "shelf" next to my seat. I started with dessert - the fried apple dessert. It tasted like Varsity bad for you with southern yum. The frozen specialty drinks can be ordered with or without alcohol. Since I was going to tango afterwards, I elected for non-alcoholic. Either way, you receive a souvenir glass. For an appetizer the Crisper Pork Shoulders was equal to the dessert. The Short Rib Bourguignon was delicious.
