Fastastic food in Ybor City. Great find with food that is above and beyond! Waitress/Bartendar very attentive and friendly. I find that whenever I am in Tampa, I need to make the trip to have dinner here at least once!

  • Underwhelmed...
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

I was pretty underwhelmed by Sunday's. I went after my graduation for brunch with my family & just wasn't impressed. There was no ambiance to speak of except for how stuffy it was in there; the AC must have been broken or just poor circulation. The place didn't seem to have an identity; was it a bar or was it a nice brunch place? The menu wasn't bad and the food did come out quickly but pretty basic presentation & average taste; nothing blew me away. I felt like this was another late night place in Ybor that try's to turn itself into a brunch/lunch spot during the day & it just didn't work for me. With so many other choices, I don't see a reason to go back.

Very creative kitchen. Staff really works hard. Everyone in our party decided we would come back and also recommend it to others. Appetizers were creative and desserts were outstanding!

  • If a restaurant has to tell
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

If a restaurant has to tell you in their name that they’re “Fine Dining”, it’s a safe bet they’re not. Sunday’s is no exception. Upon walking in, we were bowled over by the noise level; our seating in the loft did not reduce the noise appreciably. No sparkling water; delayed service. My "place setting" missed a fork, which had to be asked for after appetizer was served. The wine list was unremarkable, and they didn't have the first two bottles we ordered. The food was in the price range we’d expected but, unfortunately, the quality didn’t match the prices. Potatoes of some type took up more than half the plate and the entrees could best be summed-up as mediocre and bland – rather like the waitress and the restaurant, itself.

  • Overall I had a bad experience

Overall I had a bad experience here. A friend recommended Sunday's for brunch the weekend of Gasparilla. We had a 12:30 PM reservation time. When we showed up, the rude hostess informed us that they are only serving lunch because they have run out of all brunch ingredients. After we were seated, we waited approx. 5 minutes before we were approached by a waitress, all the while watching other patrons being served brunch. The waitress was new, and I won't fault her for that, but she had difficulty delivering drinks/apps/entrees at the correct times. Also took one of our orders incorrectly. The mimosa I had was poor, as was my friend's bloody mary. However, the lunch was good, even though we were in the mood for brunch. Overall - C

We've been in about six times. Friday and Saturday nights have been our best visits. Definitely try the lobster and crab appetizer. I could just order two or three of these and be happy! Everything we've ordered has been very, very good and the portion sizes are plentiful. Seafood is definitely their forte. Enjoy!!!

Have eaten here several times before and had better meals. Tuna was overbreaded and bland. Not sure what has happened ;but the food quality has declined. Outside dining used to be a treat here. Area seems to have declined or we were there at the wrong time. Was hopeful that Sundays would survive. Now I am not sure.

  • Took 15 minutes before anyone

Took 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. (It was New Year's Eve so there was no where else to go without reservations. Place is small too, so it wasn't packed. DC and Ice Tea took another 13 minutes to get. It was only 7:30 and the Soft Shell Crab was out. Appetizer and food served all at once. Coconut Shrimp was charred too much on the grill.

  • Our party of 4 dined early
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 12/3/2011
Our party of 4 dined early on a Saturday evening. The wait staff was very accomodating about setting up a table for 4 near a window. However, this resulted in our table not having all the correct plates, so that when we were served our bread we had nothing to put in on. This along with forgetting to server a shrimp cocktail appetizer and some confusion over dividing the bill, was why the service was only rated fair. Our server was pleasant, just a little forgetful. The food was great.

Our entrees (1 steak and 1 ciopino) were overcooked. I think it might have been the server's first day. The appetizers were excellent and the service was friendly, so I would go back.
