I was quite surprised when I arrived at the Sunbird. It had been a few years since I had been there, and the décor had really changed. I asked if it had changed ownership, and was told it was the same owners, but they decided to change the theme. The service was phenomenal and watching the sunset from this vantage point was great.

Not what I was expecting at all. The mixed drinks were the highlight of the meal. The service and food, however, were below what I've become accustomed to at other restaurants. They were out of what we originally planned on ordering for an appetizer, and the appetizer we did decide on came out cold. The meat for our entrees was cooked well, but the sides were less than desireable. My mashed potatoes had a consistency similar to baby food. I will likely never eat here again, no matter how great the view may be.

My husband & I used to frequent the Sunbird prior to the new owner. We always enjoyed the Sunday Brunch but quite disappointed w/today's visit. I made a reservation with OpenTable for 9:15am but when we arrived, the doors were locked. We called from the parking lot & were rudely told we did not have reservations. We then asked for reservation for 9:30am (when they actually opened), that was granted. Weird though, I requested a quiet booth via OpenTable & though the hostess stated we had no reservations, we were the only guests seated at a booth for almost an hour-wonder how she knew where to seat us. A lot of the food was undercooked (ie omelets, eggs benedict, etc). The Mozaic & Inverness put this Brunch to shame-don't think we'll return.

Smores by the fire add an excellent end to the evening! The view was incredible. The food was very good. The drink list looked wonderful but the wine list left some to be desired. Our server was outstanding. However, the service from the kitchen was incredibly slow. It took us 45 minutes to receive soup. However, they were incredibly kind and comp'd part of our meal. Could just be growing pains of new ownership. I'll definitely be back.

Has stunning view and lively bar so we were expecting good things. We were greeted by two people a t the front desk who argued with each other about seating us. Despite having a reservation ( and a half empty dining room) we were told that we could not be seated for about. A half hour. The manager came, there was a little more "lively discussion" and we were finally seated. The waitress was nice but had difficulty taking our order. She disappeared for long periods of time. Food was so so. All in all a disappointing experience. We won't be back.

The highlight is the view of Colorado Springs. After that is was all downhill. The salmon was undercooked and had to be sent back. The manager was uninterested in making it right. The service was slow. The signature mason jar drinks did not, in fact come in mason jars. The waitress either didn't notice or just failed to tell us. She had trouble just keeping up with refilling our water glasses. This place used to be one of the best dining experiences in Colorado Springs. I would go anyplace else now.

The Sunbird has the perfect combination of good food, awesome scenery and a great outdoor patio. When we visited on a Saturday night, there was a guy playing guitar on the patio! Now, having said all that, it is a little dated, and it's not for foodies. This is a beautiful, charming and delicious favorite!

I have been there before, not on a holiday and it was very good. We went for Mothers day, it was horrible ,soggy food and way understaffed. Each server had way to many tables, the breads were hard, desserts dry, and the omlete station way to slow, food was only warm. I will not go back again. My sisters family said they had the same experience when they went a little later that day.

This is a great place to bring kids; ours were 10, 6, 4; they didn't have to sit and wait for someone to serve them; they could get up & walk around-EVERYbody loved the mac'n cheese. The Bananas Foster are well worth saving the tummy-space & the made-to-order omelets were perfect.

First time there... and overall, my wife & I did enjoy our dinning experience. We are a {retired} military family, therefore, anytime military service is recognized in our community, we are humbled... greatly appreciated! However, there were two notable exceptions: the wait for our dinner was extremely long, and for whatever reason, it LITERALLY took 30 minutes to receive the check... 30 minutes after our dinnerware were collected, we were still waiting to check out, hence, ther reason for the "service rating." It seems like a simple think to correct, therefore, we did not put too much emphasis on it. With that said, we will certainly make an attempt to visit you again!

We both ordered a dish and they brought us a dish that we didn't order. We ended up sharing the first dish they brought out, but had to wait while they cooked the 2nd dish. Our waiter was really nice and friendly. The Manager came to our table to appologize for the error and gave us the 2nd dish and a chocolate cake for free. The fire pits were set up outside. After our meal we went outside and sat on the patio with the fire pits, talked and watched the beautiful city lights. The place had 80's or 90's rock/hip hop playing. Better song selection would have been nice.

I will keep the review short and sweet. 1. Made reservations for a window table, we get there and were told that there were none open for at least an hour. We drove 50+ miles to celebrate that upsets me, in no way were we accomidated please do not tell me two hours before our reservation we are good, then tell me an hour wait. Now our waitress, she was awesome! She made my wife feel special and took care of our every need. 2. The view was breath taking!, although there was a wedding reception going on so it was very loud for an hour or so. But let me tell you the sunset there was worth it. 3. As for the food it was great, some of the best prime rib and king crab ever.

Their Brunch was great! If only they can get their chef try as hard on Friday and Saturday nights about preparing appetizers quickly (less than 20 mins please) and making sure they are HOT all the way through and NOT FROZEN in the middle. This restaurant needs a visit from Corporate to see about a new head chef or a re-org in kitchen staff. It also needs a simple glass noise partition out back on the cliff to shield the road noise. New carpet and paint inside would be good too. That said, the bar and wait staff is very attentive and kind. And, the brunch was nice. If Corporate can't fix the kitchen and add patio glass to reduce road noise, and remodel a bit, then please ask the Chart House rest. to purchase them and run it right.

Great service. So-so food on the brunch line. Chef doesn't know how to make brisket or pulled pork for a buffet line as both were tough and marginal on the taste scale, but the prime rib was good. Poached salmon was OK but a bit hard to serve with just the small fish forks to peel it off the bones. Eggs definitely need work. Sausage was good. Iced seafood was OK ... but can we do away with the in-the-shell shrimp, please? There is no way to eat that stuff without getting it all over yourself. Try scampi or peeled shrimp instead, OK? Bacon was marginal (soggy). Service was great ... or did I say that already? Overall, this is a middle of the road Sunday brunch. Could definitely come up with better quality food for the price.

And our experience this visit provided the same...excellent food, friendly service and wonderfuil views. Our only suiggestion relates to the ambience, as it is becoming a bit dated. Went for anniversary dinner Sunday evening. Service was friendly but only one waitress for the whole place and our food was served luke warm at best. I saw several plates waiting to be served that were under the warming lamps far too long. The host and waitress were nice enough but not that informed about the menu so couldn't answer our questions on specifics of the drink and food choices. Stuffed mushroom caps were good but were served luke warm. My wedge salad and my wife's Seafood bisque was very good. My shrimp scampi was bland w/very dry rice. My wife couldn't eat her "soft/soggy" salmon. The creme brulee was not very good. Wouldn't go there again. Dated restaurant trying to pass itself off as elegant dining and failing.
