The Sunbird has the perfect combination of good food, awesome scenery and a great outdoor patio. When we visited on a Saturday night, there was a guy playing guitar on the patio! Now, having said all that, it is a little dated, and it's not for foodies. This is a beautiful, charming and delicious favorite!

I have been there before, not on a holiday and it was very good. We went for Mothers day, it was horrible ,soggy food and way understaffed. Each server had way to many tables, the breads were hard, desserts dry, and the omlete station way to slow, food was only warm. I will not go back again. My sisters family said they had the same experience when they went a little later that day.

This is a great place to bring kids; ours were 10, 6, 4; they didn't have to sit and wait for someone to serve them; they could get up & walk around-EVERYbody loved the mac'n cheese. The Bananas Foster are well worth saving the tummy-space & the made-to-order omelets were perfect.

First time there... and overall, my wife & I did enjoy our dinning experience. We are a {retired} military family, therefore, anytime military service is recognized in our community, we are humbled... greatly appreciated! However, there were two notable exceptions: the wait for our dinner was extremely long, and for whatever reason, it LITERALLY took 30 minutes to receive the check... 30 minutes after our dinnerware were collected, we were still waiting to check out, hence, ther reason for the "service rating." It seems like a simple think to correct, therefore, we did not put too much emphasis on it. With that said, we will certainly make an attempt to visit you again!

We both ordered a dish and they brought us a dish that we didn't order. We ended up sharing the first dish they brought out, but had to wait while they cooked the 2nd dish. Our waiter was really nice and friendly. The Manager came to our table to appologize for the error and gave us the 2nd dish and a chocolate cake for free. The fire pits were set up outside. After our meal we went outside and sat on the patio with the fire pits, talked and watched the beautiful city lights. The place had 80's or 90's rock/hip hop playing. Better song selection would have been nice.

I will keep the review short and sweet. 1. Made reservations for a window table, we get there and were told that there were none open for at least an hour. We drove 50+ miles to celebrate that upsets me, in no way were we accomidated please do not tell me two hours before our reservation we are good, then tell me an hour wait. Now our waitress, she was awesome! She made my wife feel special and took care of our every need. 2. The view was breath taking!, although there was a wedding reception going on so it was very loud for an hour or so. But let me tell you the sunset there was worth it. 3. As for the food it was great, some of the best prime rib and king crab ever.

Employees working hard, just seemed under-staffed. Food OK, pork chop so thick, the middle was undercooked. Nice shrimp pasta dish, although a little short on sauce (somewhat dry). Awesome view, with a big patio and active fire pits! They don't normally serve dinner out on the patio (too distant for service back and forth), but several were getting appetizers and drinks.

Their Brunch was great! If only they can get their chef try as hard on Friday and Saturday nights about preparing appetizers quickly (less than 20 mins please) and making sure they are HOT all the way through and NOT FROZEN in the middle. This restaurant needs a visit from Corporate to see about a new head chef or a re-org in kitchen staff. It also needs a simple glass noise partition out back on the cliff to shield the road noise. New carpet and paint inside would be good too. That said, the bar and wait staff is very attentive and kind. And, the brunch was nice. If Corporate can't fix the kitchen and add patio glass to reduce road noise, and remodel a bit, then please ask the Chart House rest. to purchase them and run it right.

Great service. So-so food on the brunch line. Chef doesn't know how to make brisket or pulled pork for a buffet line as both were tough and marginal on the taste scale, but the prime rib was good. Poached salmon was OK but a bit hard to serve with just the small fish forks to peel it off the bones. Eggs definitely need work. Sausage was good. Iced seafood was OK ... but can we do away with the in-the-shell shrimp, please? There is no way to eat that stuff without getting it all over yourself. Try scampi or peeled shrimp instead, OK? Bacon was marginal (soggy). Service was great ... or did I say that already? Overall, this is a middle of the road Sunday brunch. Could definitely come up with better quality food for the price.

The food, service and the views have always been our favorite highlights when visiting The Sunbird, asw e have been there numerous times over the last 10+ years. And our experience this visit provided the same...excellent food, friendly service and wonderfuil views. Our only suiggestion relates to the ambience, as it is becoming a bit dated. The carpets need to be replaced, the color schemes brightened up and the dining room and patio generally modernized. The staff is always outstanding, and we look forward to our next visit there.

Went for anniversary dinner Sunday evening. Service was friendly but only one waitress for the whole place and our food was served luke warm at best. I saw several plates waiting to be served that were under the warming lamps far too long. The host and waitress were nice enough but not that informed about the menu so couldn't answer our questions on specifics of the drink and food choices. Stuffed mushroom caps were good but were served luke warm. My wedge salad and my wife's Seafood bisque was very good. My shrimp scampi was bland w/very dry rice. My wife couldn't eat her "soft/soggy" salmon. The creme brulee was not very good. Wouldn't go there again. Dated restaurant trying to pass itself off as elegant dining and failing.

Overall my wife and I had an enjoyable evening. Our service was great and my plate was very good. My wife had the steak Ongley, it was not so good. The steak was dry, had the consistency of being precooked, very bland taste and most importantly it was barely room temperature. After eating 3/4's of it, setting the plate aside for pickup, we were asked by both the manager and our server how we liked our plates; we advised both of them of this. Being she ate 3/4's of the steak we were not asking for or expecting any consideration, just wanted them to know so those after us would be better served. Even still, we were given $7.50 off the price; that was very nice and appreciated!!

My wife and I had heard that this was a "dress nice" type of establishment. The site said 'business casual'. Maybe I don't know what that means, but we were clearly overdressed. There were several people wearing jean shorts and t shirts... but my favorite was a father and son that walked by in tuxedo t-shirts... classy! On the other hand, the food was surprisingly good. We had 1 really nasty glass of wine, but several really good cocktails. Sitting next to the fire on the deck after our meal and enjoying one more drink together was really nice. All in all, it was a good experience. I doubt I'll be going back (a bit too expensive), but if I do, I'll spend much less time on my outfit... :-)

Enjoyed the view (to the West) and the service was just right. First time trying Osso Bucco. Thought it was a little too "tomato tart", but perhaps that is the dish. Friend ordered prime rib medium rare and was served medium well. it was replaced without question. Great Chocolate Mile High Cake for dessert. The only negative comment I have is that there was a group party and the music was somewhat loud, and I hip hop was not condusive to our dining experience. Bottom line...good food...good libations...great view. "I'll be back".
