Diner Reviews
  • "The food was very good. The view is amazing. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. My only complaints are first the host/hostess. They were very rude and the hostess looked disheveled. Her hair was a mess and she kept scratching her head. Due to our interaction she refused to seat me and kept giving me dirty looks and making comments under her breath when she would walk past my table seating other people. Second we were in a bit if a hurry because we had a musical to attend. We let the waiter know ahead of time and it was still very slow to get our food. We had to skip dessert to barely make it to the musical on time and I allowed ample time for dinner."

  • "Only negative is that I would prefer the restaurant enforce the evening dress code. You want to feel like you're in a classy, upscale place, but the guy in cargo shorts and a t-shirt a couple tables away definitely took some of that away. Aside from that it was great food, great service, great view. We were seated in the perfect spot for our 8:00 PM reservation. We were able to see the daytime skyline, sunset, then nighttime skyline without getting up from our table."

  • "This has to be one of the most expensive restaurants in Atlanta. I've eaten here many times before the restaurant was renovated and the prices were high but the view and the service was great. Now the prices are just insane. Yes the views are great, but let's get a grip, it's not the Eiffel Tower!"

  • "The view is unmatched, as was our service. My filet, highly recommended and $55/serving, higher than I've ever paid anywhere by a lot, was overcooked I could have sent it back and should. My Georgia clams, which I expected to be at least moderate-sized and meaty, were the tiniest cherrystones I'd ever seen, there were 5 of them, hardly even an appetizer. My husband however was extremely pleased with his garlic shrimp appetizer and strip steak. We ordered cocktails, one of which came not to order, and house wines, which were fine. Prices were exorbitant for the level of food. Would still do it again, perhaps for lunch or brunch."

  • "For our 25th anniversary, I chose the Sundial b/c of the ambience and the reputation for great prime rib. Neither was a disappointment--my wife was overwhelmed by the vista views of the city and the 6 fireworks shows that erupted closely after dark (July 4). I couldn't have asked for a better spot for a long, romantic, enchanting, engaging dinner with my wife of 25 years. Thanks for making it special. The card sent to our table by the chef and staff was lagniappe after the excellent evening we'd already had."

  • "The glass elevator ride was exciting. We had a reservation & were told they had to set up our table for no apparent reason as you can look down on the dining room there were plenty of tables set up. However, once seated the service was friendly & efficient. Sunday Brunch = no bloody mary's until 12:30! Kids loved the peach lemonade. Food was pretty, but lacked flavor/spice. Corned Beef hash was actually stewed beef & sliced potatoes in a brown sauce, big difference. That & the shrimp & grits required hot sauce to add depth. We enjoyed the view & the revolving floor was fun for everyone. It was expensive ($300 2 adults & 4 kids), knew that going in & treated it as an experience. Its now checked off the list of things to do in Atlanta."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary there because we wanted to go somewhere spacial. Our dinner was very good, and the view was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this to others. A little disconcerting initially sharing the elevator with lots of tourists for the upper level viewing but after entering the dining level it was pleasant."

  • ". Managenment handling of the reservation was horrible. I received a call 2 hrs prior to my 7:00 reservation telling me I had to be out of there by 9pm(2 HRS Max). I always book a suite in the hotel and fly to Atlanta too see the fire works while eating. They changed my appt from 7PM to 9:15 after beind told my Dennis that this was not possible. They seated us 10:40 and we got our food around 11:00PM. We were the last to leave at 1:20am with the personnel starving at us before they wanted to clean the table so they could leave. prior to arriving we talked to a Brad, a Ben, and I think a Brat all who stated they were in managment. we spend $1,800.00 for this experience including hotel bill."

  • "We decided to go to the sundial for our one year anniversary. The food was great, the views were amazing, it was an overall great experience. The only complaint was the price. But it was a special occasion. They even validated our valet parking for free."

  • "Had a great meal, server was great, view was great. Was pricey and would charge for sharing. Loved everything about it."

  • "Food very average, especially for the price. Service was horrible, unprofessional, and not befitting a restaurant that costs as much as this one. And, the service was incredibly slow too. Don't waste your money eating here. Instead go to the bar/view, enjoy the gorgeous panorama (especially cool on July 4th) and avoid the restaurant. I wish I had my $150 back..."

  • "This was our first time back to the Sun Dial since it's renovation. Well...the view is still spectacular. The fireworks going off all around Atlanta was fun to view from 72 stories up. Unfortunately, the food was only good and priced too high for just good. While Peter our waiter did his best to keep us happy, the service was so sloooow...I have never revolved three times(3 hrs) for a 3 course meal. Will I go back? Probably, just to take friends and family who have never experienced the Sun Dial. But unfortunately, not on a regular basis."

  • "We paid way too much for a ridiculously tiny salad, dirty silver upon arrival, a medium steak that had no pink what so ever, and off putting reservation rules. The view was spectacular as always."

  • "The selection of food did not disappoint. We all enjoyed our dinner choices."

  • "It was our anniversary and the best experience we've had dining out. Great host, great food, great music. Simply put, THE BEST EVER. The only issue we had was the parking. Not set up for big crowds at all but the good thing is the restaurant validates the parking so it's free. We will be back."

  • "We went to the Sun Dial Restaurant as part of our anniversary celebration this year. We wanted to do something "touristy" in our hometown. We quickly realized that not only was this restaurant a great find with an exquisite menu, but the service was excellent and the view breathtaking. The exclusivity added to the ambience and we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening above Atlanta with great memories and a desire to return soon."

  • "The food here is expensive and the portions are far from giant BUT the view from above Atlanta is breathtaking and even constantly changing while the floor slowly turns! The price is well worth it for a special experience for an anniversary, a birthday, or just an unforgettable date night to treat that special person in your life. The service was amazing and made us feel like royalty. It was wonderful."

  • "THE VIEW WAS AMAZING - THE SERVICE AND FOOD WERE FANTASTIC"

  • "The view was awesome, of course. And the food was equally delicious. I had the pork chops with their delicious bacon mac & cheese. The service was friendly as well."

  • "Ann was our waitress and had been working there for 31 years and was a delight and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Service was excellent and you have got to try the dirty martinis with 3 blue cheese olives. They were the best I have every had. We had the beef tenderloin which was perfectly cooked and the NY strip which was also perfectly cooked. I wasn't too keen on the salad that had the flowers in it but to each their own. The fried peach pie with vanilla and cinnamon ice cream will as we say in the south "slap your mama" was excellent. The overall experience and the sights of spinning around Atlanta is an experience of a lifetime and something everyone should experience."

  • "The parking was free until we had to go home and at the self parking we paid $25. The waiter told us what to do. When we went down to the lobby the guy didn't know anything we are talking about. Absuluyly, NO comunication! We called the resturant until now we got no respond. Also, the resturant added the tax on top of 18% tip. I'm recommending to check your bill before you pay."

  • "for less than $200. That does not include the $65ish bottle of wine we had served as well. Considering the fact that we were there for about 2 hrs and it is the best view(s) in town, the whole dining experience was well worth it. Food was delicious, service was very professional, prices where high, but nowhere near as high as the vantage point from which you get to enjoy a very well prepared meal overlooking the whole of Atlanta and the surrounding areas."

  • "I took my aunt for the first time on Sunday. She absolutely loved it the food was excellent the service was good. She had the porkchops I have been that they were both excellent. We receive 20% off using our Starwood account."

  • "My husband and I ate at the Sundial restaurant for Sunday Brunch and it was amazing. We've been there in the past but it's been a long time and this visit was definitely more memorable. I had the crab cakes benedict which was perfect and my husband had the shrimp omelet. He says that the omelet was ok but nothing to rave about. They give you banana nut muffins that were the est I've ever had. The only dissappointing thing was the attentiveness of the server, she was nice but super, super slow."

  • "We took our 2.5 year old to brunch. They were very accommodating and she really enjoyed the changing view. I would not recommend this restaurant for Small children in the evening. Not because it isn't kid-friendly, but rather because it is quite nice and it was very "exciting" that the floor spins. Great place to bring out of town guests or for a special date night. It is definitely a different perspective of the skyline. I was most impressed with the service and overall experience."

  • "The Sun Dial was great for our special occasion! My two daughters and I had dinner reservations here before heading to Phillips Arena for a show. I was happy to see a kids menu and the food choices were very good for kids. The prices were also very comparable to other kids menus. The absolutely loved the elevator ride and the beautiful view of Atlanta. Great Experience!!"

  • "My sister and I went to the Sun Dial for a special lunch while she was in town visiting. Our waiter, Terrance, and the manager on duty were fun, lively, and knowledgeable about the menu, building, and view! The food was delicious. We had an amazing experience and will be recommending it to others."

  • "We live in Newman GA and love to run up to the Westin whenever we can. The view is spectacular! The food is always perfect and I would recommend trying something on the menu that you cannot find elsewhere. While a burger is always fun, you can get that down the street from your house, try something different like the Georgia trout, which is wonderful by the way!"

  • "What a wonderful experience! Our food was delicious and the service was wonderful. My husband has to be gluten free and the waitor paid special attention to our gluten free request. This is a must while you are in Atlanta."

  • "I am not from Atlanta but I visit once or twice a year. Usually I am joined by someone who has not been to Atlanta or to the Sun Dial Restuarant before so it is always a special treat. I've only been there for lunch and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the view is spectacular. Lunch menu is medium priced, the sweet tea is the best in the world and I don't mind the $1 charge per person for their water."
