A word from Summit - The Broadmoor
Designed by acclaimed architect Adam D. Tihany, Summit's contemporary design is inspired by the grandeur of Pike's Peak and provides a stunning counterpoint to the classic elegance of The Broadmoor. Wood, metal, glass, leather and fabrics are used throughout the dining room to evoke a modern, yet natural feel suited perfectly to Summit's bold American Brasserie menu and innovative wine and cocktail program.

It all starts with the finest American ingredients and produce found seasonally around the country, which is combined with classical cooking techniques. Whether it's Colorado corn in September, Nantucket Bay scallops in November, or heirloom tomatoes from the heartland in the summer, Summit's stellar menu of year-round favorites and ever-evolving seasonal selections finds strength in a vibrant nationwide network of top-shelf vendors that provide the kitchen with the best possible ingredients.

Totally up to Broadmoor standards of exceptional service and quality of food, as well as the appearance. I really needed this after experiencing sub-standard service as a car dealer and tailor earlier. It's great to know the Summit and Broadmoor staff can be counted on for exceptionalism.

We visited the Summit several years ago when it first opened and were not impressed, so thought during Colorado Springs Restaurant Week it would be a good time to return and see if there had been any improvement. The good news is that it has come along very nicely and will now garner a spot in our restaurant rotation. The food and menu choices are definitely better than before and the service was excellent. Very happy to see the improvements and will look forward to going back.

Overall food was good. Had the avocado soup which was awesome! Salads were good - frisée was too bitter for my husband. Sweetbreads in port wine reduction was great but did not need the raw veggies in the mix. The swordfish wrapped in thinly sliced potatoes or a leek cream sauce was amazing ! Mmm and then the crunch bar for dessert was great

The location being just a 2 minute walk from the hotel was excellent. The restaurant itself was very appealing. The food was very good and a nice variety of specials and the wine offerings were excellent. Our nice evening was spoiled by a server that was either overworked or just underperforming. We had to search several times to find him to ask for bread, twice for additional drinks and then when a dessert was brought out wrong, he didn't return again until our table had finished. When it was brought to his attention, his respond was "that's weird". No apology or offer to correct or remove from bill. Manager offered to pay for the dessert. We chose to take it out of his tip. Worth the trip, but like anywhere, service is key.

Having visited the Penrose Room with rave reviews, we were excited about taking our family of six adults to the Summit. The place is beautiful, very trendy-looking and elegant. But the food was hit-or-miss. The meat itself, with one exception (the beef), was good, but the concoction it was sitting on was almost unrecognizable and inedible. I had a salad so over-coated with blue cheese, it made me nauseated. One of the desserts, a mint sorbet was over-powering. We left hungry with a big bill and an overall poor impression. We won't go back. So those of you expecting Penrose-quality at a lower price, you will get the lower price but a very mixed dining experience.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal. The waiter was attentive but not too intrusive. It was a good place for a special occasion as we were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere new to us. The wine list looked good but prices were a little higher than what we would be comfortable spending. Drink prices were also high as they are at all of the restaurants at the Broadmoor. The food choices were unique and both of us felt our meal was very well prepared. The dessert was especially good and we were glad we chose to get the 3 course meal even though we were extremely full after the meal!

We took our parent's there for their 56th wedding anniversary and the food was SPECTACULAR! The wine service and sommelier were fantastic and we really appreciated his wine recommendation for a robust Malbec. I told the waiter that the Veal was the best meal I had ever had at a restaurant! We first sat in the bar and had drinks while waiting for our family to arrive and the service was wonderful. Everything was sublime. It was expensive for the 4 of us but well worth it for the ambiance, spectacular service, excellent food and all around "foodie" experience. Our waiter was awesome. Very friendly, professional, sharp looking and we really appreciated his recommendations from the main entrée to the dessert.

I'm having a hard time defining this restaurant. Very trendy. Lots of young people dining here. Much dressier than they recommend - most men in suits and ties. The food was very good - and that is the best part of this review (the best halibut I've ever eaten). The seating is uncomfortable - bench seating is too low for the table and the way the tablecloth is arranged makes it easy to get tangled up. Really cool looking but not so practical. I think the emphasis here is on the zen of the place and not the overall comfort of the diner. A little disappointing. We had an outstanding server on Tuesday night..Bret...the best part of the evening. But if we'd been in a big city, I doubt this restaurant would even be in contention. Sommelier??

We were in Colorado Springs four nights of which two nights we had to attend a planned dinner. Unfortunately, two nights Sunday and Monday the fine dining restaurant the Penrose a Room, is closed. Our second choices was the Summit. It is located across the street and does not have a view but the food was guide good although a limited wine list. The service was excellent.

Although we had made reservations a month ago they seated us at a 2 seater facing the wall and next to another wall. It took 3 attempts to get another table (there were 4 others open by the window) along with asking to talk to the manager before they moved us. Sadly, the dinner didn't get any better. The service was wonderful and a knowledgeable wait staff. However, the food was average and didn't live up to the descriptions on the menu and by the waitperson. They did have a unique wine list and several choices by the glass. There are many many exceptional dining options in Colorado Springs. This is a restaurant that I wouldn't even go to if the meal was free!

A special birthday celebration. Looking out the spacious windows with the Broadmoor hotel as a backdrop made for a very romantic and scenic evening. The service was stellar from the moment we checked in for our reservation. The timing, presentation and flavors of our meal was impeccable. We chose items from both their seasonal and regular menu. A savory seasonal sampling plate to include a pork pate, duck liver mousse, pickeled veggies & apple butter was a fabulous start to our experience. The swordfish was presented beautifully and was ever so moist. We finished off the evening with a cardamom crème brulee accented with fresh seasonal fruits--both beautiful and tantalizing to the palate. A wonderful late summer meal in a beautiful setting.

Like pretty much everything at the Broadmoor, this restaurant was very nice but quite expensive. At about $95 per person for dinner with a bottle of their most inexpensive wine and one drink, it was quite pricy. The food was very good though the swordfish was a bit overcooked. The lobster mac and cheese, on the other hand, was excellent. The mussels and escargot were also very good. The best part of the evening was the service which was certainly up to Broadmoor standards and is largely what keeps us coming back to this outstanding facility. All in all a very enjoyable meal.
