Both meals were delicious. And the cream corn is incredible. Our waitress Connie was so helpful with our decision making and so very nice overall. You just can't go wrong going here for dinner. They took us often to learn how to "fine dine". I have continued the tradition. I find the lunches affordable and varied, and the lack of young children make it easy to visit. It is relaxing and no one hurries you to leave. This is the second time in a time frame of three weeks we enjoyed a delicious well prepared and served dinner without the feeling of being rushed. Our server, "Gladys" was not only very attentive to our needs but displayed great people skills and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a big factor in making our dinner our with long time friends most enjoyable. Aside from the food, service, & ambiance, the ability to enjoy a conversation without raising your voice is a big plus.

The view is great. This was a very pleasant experience with a nice surprise from the restaurant at the end because of our special occasion. I had the John Dory and it was perfectly made. My husband had the prime rib which is their signature specialty, and it was perfectly made. We started with the mushroom appetizer and it was delicious. It was smoky and had the right amount of flavor. We also shared the tomato bisque and it was very good as well. I did not have any room for dessert, but my husband did, so we ordered their 3 layer chocolate cake. I sampled it and needless to say, it was excellent. We will be back soon! It is attractive, with good food and attentive staff. I think the only drawback is that the big room makes for a loud evening, but it reminds me of the best steak and chop houses of the 1970's. All the right elements are there: comfortable booths, dark wood, good cocktails, great wine list, good menu values... and all of the things you expect to see in a menu in a restaurant of this class: Steaks, lamb chops, french onion soup, wedge and ceasar salads, etc. It is all done well and makes for a great evening without breaking the bank. Our server Connie was spot-on with reading our table and timed everything so well. We ordered the Ahi appetizer and a couple of drinks in the bar before dinner, taking advantage of the restaurant's great happy hour. For dinner, we both had prime rib with their famous creamed corn (yum!), creamed spinach, whipped horseradish (great kick that night!), and delicious popover (make sure you cut it open when they offer au jus). I started with the French onion soup and my husband had the wedge salad--both winners.
