  • "The ride to the top of the mountain was a bit pricey. Food was pretty good, not great. Service was a bit slow, and our waitress was a little forgetful but she was very sweet and friendly so we gave her a break for being a little ditzy. May have been the altitude. View obviously was awesome. We would do it again. If you go, temper your expectations as the food is OK. You pay for the view."

  • "Our server was pleasant, efficient but not intrusive. The portions of Hikers Wrap, Cherry Chicken Salad and Halibut and Chips were all generous and delicious. Prices for all three plates was quite reasonable."

  • "The day before our reservation, I called the Summit House to add two people to our table and they said it was impossible to do and that they were booked. When we arrived there was a party of 11 that they were able to fit in and there were other empty tables around us the entire time we were there. The hostess station seemed to be very disorganized and unprepared for our reservation. They had to pull two tables together for us right as we were being shown to the table. Our server was excellent but the kitchen was slow getting the food out. Overall we were there just under two hours for lunch. The view is so outstanding that the other issues were forgotten."

  • "The view of Mt. Rainer on a clear day is just awesome. To be able to add great conversation with friends and tasty food is the added bonus. Thanks for a memorable time. a"

  • "We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had great service inside for dinner ( can not remember his name and his assistant server- the server runs up the mountain!) They were both very friendly and informative. The food came out quickly and was scrumptious, had the Bloody Mary special drink and steak and salmon linguini plus desserts and apps! We went out for an after dinner drink on the deck where Rick was our server, he was also very outgoing!"

  • "Tge vuew is spectacular, yhr food is okay, service is super slow and almost non existent. Took a long long time to get the food once you ordered. Everyone had the same complaints when we were there. Not a large selection on the memu either but sufficient."

  • "The Summit House is located in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable on the top of Crystal Mountain. The views are simply stunning. I would go back. We had a lovely dinner there with my family - food was good. We had multiple unfortunate service issues (waiter didn't know he was assigned to our table, no one came to take our order for a long time; drinks took forever to be served; food had to be added to "fast track" to be served in a reasonable timeframe). However, both our server and the manager apologized multiple times for the issues, served us complimentary appetizers to make up for it, and spent time and energy with us to make sure they turned around our overall dining experience from poor to positive, which they did."

  • " Thankfully they worked with us on the gondola as it was a very busy day where we had to bust into the line to make it to our reservations on time. It was a perfect day with Mt. Rainier in our face and Mt. Adams right next door. The food was abundant and it was good. Four of us ordered three different entrees and we were all very happy with the portions and the taste. The homemade Ginger Ale was a real hit with us and the Halibut Fish and Chips were outstanding! We very much enjoyed our time in the outdoor dining area and the service was amazing! We will eat there again!"

  • "The view at the Summit House really can't be beat. Unfortunately, this fact makes the staff a bit oblivious to quality customer service. I made a reservation, but arrived an hour and 45 minutes early as the hike up didn't take as long as we expected. Rather than put us on the waiting list, the hostess said we would have to keep our original reservation. While I can appreciate the need to manage a high flow restaurant, this was not the best way to go about doing that. Hikers who were well behind us were sat, ate and left before our reservation time came up. The resort is lovely, but in general is poorly managed. No water at the gift shop or anywhere up top unless you bring it yourself (or are lucky enough to get into the restaurant)."

  • "The gondola ride to the top of Crystal Mtn. provides a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier, but also gets you to the surprisingly good Summit House Restaurant. My wife and I shared orders of the Chicken Satay and Fish & Chips, and both orders we excellent. Try their special 22 oz Bloody Mary - a meal in itself. On top of the great view and good food, the wait staff was friendly and tuned into the customers needs. The mountain top was crowded the day we were there, so be sure to make reservations in advance as they were turning folks away."

  • "Our first time visiting Crystal Mountain during the summer season...what a wonderful experience for us locals and for our friends visiting from Arizona and North Carolina! The views were majestic and the food and service were beyond expectations!! Definitely will be on our "Show off the Mountain" tour with friends and visitors..."

  • "Order the simple things on the menu we did not the elk medallions and coho were of very poor quality"

  • "The food was awful and way overpriced. There were dead flies on the windowsill and bugs flying around. Just pay the gondola price and don't bother with the restaurant."

  • "We celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary at the Summit house. The evening began with a gentle Gondola ride to the to top of Crystal Mt. We were not expecting a have a delicious dinner, but we knew the scenery would be be spectacular. The weather was clear and warm. We each order a glass of wine which was above average and the evening special, elk medallions on a be of rice and halibut service with potatoes pancakes. Quite good I must say..."

  • "Weather was great, the ride on the gondola was great, the view of Mt Rainier was incredible, and the food was the caliber of what you would find in a expensive upscale restaurant, but with more reasonable prices. I would heartily recommend having a meal here to anyone looking for a getaway to relax from the hustle and bustle of Seattle."

  • "When I was at age 8 I learned how to ski and snowboard from the traning school down at the base area. So I decided to bring my girlfriend to experience a little something and share a bit of my past. Great food, amazing atmosphere on clear sunny days, and great vibes from the waitresses. Also a great way to get out of society and be one with nature and your favorite mountain in the PNW!"

  • "The view is the reason you go here. Mt Rainier stares you in the face, but the food is also very good too. Refreshing house made ginger ale. Delicately battered, delicious fish and chips. Fresh and crisp salad with huge chicken chunks, and a Lumberjack Bloody Mary topped with bacon, pickle and a huge prawn. Yum!! But the view is the reason you go here."

  • "Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my sister (we are both in our 70s). Beautiful day and beautiful view. Excellent foor although the chicken cherry salad sandwich could have had a few more cherries in it. Loved the cream puf desert."

  • "I was incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. There were flies all over the windows, and after sitting there watching them crawl around for half an hour, we asked to be moved. The hostess gave us attitude and acted annoyed. She wouldn't let us sit outside instead, saying it was too complicated. We waited over an hour and a half for our food (a sandwich and a salad) and were not given bread we had ordered as an appetizer. My soda was refilled once during our lengthy stay, and my companion took my water since she couldn't get more for herself. The food was adequate, but nothing special. We were totally ignored by our server except when she took our order, delivered plates, and gave us our check. Other tables seemed to have the same issues"

  • "Lunch at the Summit was wonderful. The service was well above average, the menu was limited but with an interesting selection, and the view, of course, was spectacular. Mount Rainier was just.... right there!"

  • "CM staff, WE came to Crystal with special friends from overseas. I and 1 guest ordered meals with fries. When they were served we BOTH asked for ketchup and salt (neither on table). sadly, we were done with our meal before condiments ever arrived (AFTER we had reminded our waiter 3X). THEN my wife ordered strawberry pear salld. No strawberries (need I say more) we spent $50 0n petrol; $100 on gondola; $100 on food. And one whole day of time spent = Really - Really BAD VALUE. BUT, the mountain (no credit to you) was amazing. If I thought it was worth the time, I would post a warning about you on Yelp. Dr. Bruce Norquist."

  • "We had the impression this was more of a "fine dining" option, but it is not. The menu is more fancy bar food. Fortunately it is appropriately priced, however, adding in $22 per head to get up there makes it into a fine dining price point, except without the fine dining food. Out of the limited selection of options, our food was good and the service was good, and of course the view is exceptional, which is worth something. The ambience was awful because the music was inappropriate and way, way too loud (again for what we thought was going to be closer to a "fine dining" experience). It was like the music and ambience was more appropriate for the young, busy serving staff, not the customers. Next time we would eat at Snorting Elk."

  • "The truffle fried fries are not to be overlooked! I had halibut and chips -- it melted in my mouth. Grandson ate the crystal mt burger. I'm not sure he even tasted it. But I heard "Ummm, ummm" several times"

  • "Dining at the top of Crystal Mountain while viewing Mt. Rainier is a special experience, made even more so by the friendly staff. Food was served very quickly and was hot and delicious! There are windows all around to take in the view, but be forewarned; there were many flies, bees and wasps that were trapped inside trying to get out. They stayed on the windows and didn't bother us or our food sitting right next to them. The only issue was the seating policy. The entire outdoor patio had only a few people and was mostly empty, but they don't allow patrons to sit down and have a drink while they wait for their reservation. Many others, including families, were upset over this "once we seat you, we can't move you" policy."

  • "Food was good. View was great-absolutely amazing. The staff appeared under managed and unkempt. Everybody looked like they needed a shower. Overheard several of the staff gossiping. Waiter attempted to overcharge on the bill. If you order a pint, double check you are not charged for a stein."

  • "Visited crystal on the day of a wine festival -- and it was busier than expected. Lunch wait times were about an hour long. Thankfully I made a reservation, that would be my advice, just to be safe."

  • "This was our second time to eat here. Both times were great, the wait staff is also fun and friendly. During the summer you really should make a reservation. When we arrived we got right in with our reservation, other people who didn't make a reservation were waiting in line for over an hour."

  • "On a beautiful Sat day with the expected crowd you should NOT run out of fresh grapefruit juice! The cioppino was ok, the bread that came with it terrible. My husband had the chicken salad sandwich which had enough chicken salad but came on a boring plate with no lettuce, tomato, nothing for color."

  • "The food was really good and didn't take long to come out. The hostess however was quite rude and even though there were multiple tables free outside would not allow us to sit out side. We were there for my dad's 70th birthday treat. Won't be back."

  • "The food is nothing to write home about - but that's OK, given the unique experience of dining on top of a mountain with amazing views of Rainier and the valleys. With the gondola ride up, it's an overall experience!"

  • "Made a reservation for the last time available in Open Table which is 5:45. We were a little late due to traffic and found out that they seat walk-ups up till 7:00 pm. They were kinda busy, mostly outside, so we had to wait a bit for the first visit from our waitress (Dani). She was very outgoing and enjoyable so it was forgivable. She took our order for an appetizer and entree. She brought us our wine and then about 15 minutes later, our entree. She apologized but she forgot to submit the appetizer order so we had dessert instead (which is not listed on the online menu). All the food was very good. The weather was gorgeous and Mt Rainier was out on all her glory. It was probably warm enough to eat outside but a little windy."

  • "A wonderful place to go for lunch or dinner. Although a limited menu selection, the food it excellent and the the wait staff very attentive without being interruptive. Of course, the view cannot be beat. All employees of the Crystal Mt area are extremely polite and desire to help. What a nice atmosphere and the tram ride to the restaurant is unbeatable! A great place to go for something different and pleasurable."
