Diner Reviews
  • "Fabulous service and amazing food. I would definitely recommend Sullivan's! "

  • "Service was on-top of everything and the food was exceptional! Had a great time and can't wait to do it again."
    Dined on 4/15/2014
  • "We have always loved Sullivans but the last few times, our service has really been less then ideal. The waiters are either inexperienced or are annoying with questions like "is everything FANSASTIC? Or is everything AMAZING?" It's a selling tactic that is just not effective and we can do without the pitch. To that end, the service was slow…the food was good but we had a long wait for steaks that when they finally arrived were just barely warm. There was no apology or offer to make up for the long wait, which at their prices is just not right. We know what a great restaurant they can be so we are hopeful they will listen to feedback from their customers and get back on track."

  • "Our server, D.J., was amazing. Full of energy, very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. He definitely enhanced the overall dining experience for both my wife and I."

  • "Our dinner was delicious and our server, Andrew, was very pleasant and efficient."

  • "Fantastic service, great food... but $17.50 for two cans of beer? $150 for two people to have dinner - from the specials? Save this for a special occasion - or if you are on an expense account (but don't tell the shareholders or taxpayers...)"

  • "Celebrating our anniversary. Staff was very attentive and the food was great."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "This was our first visit here and won't be the last! The steaks here are expensive but the quality is top notch. The servers are also great, friendly and quick. Will definitely go back!"

  • "We dined at Sullivan's on the recommendation of friends and sampled the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and Lettuce Wedge per their direction. Both were outstanding starters to our meal and I highly recommend them to anyone who dines there. My filet was prepared exactly as ordered and was very good. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes but I wouldn't recommend those to anyone. They tasted watery and really diminished the quality of the steak. For such a nice restaurant, the tables seemed very close together and all surrounding conversations could be overheard with clarity. A large party was seated near us and their good time was shared by all those around, which was a little disappointing."

  • "Took my wife for her birthday. Service was excellent food was good as expected for the price which is in line with Ruth Chris. Good overall dining experience."

  • "Our experience was great! Our server, September, was WONDERFUL!!! Her suggestions were great, she was friendly and seemed to truly enjoy her job. She went above and beyond for us. We had a wonderful experience. My husband's steaks were not cooked the way he requested, but September, our server, immediately took care of it. The manager brought the new steaks to our table, apologized and made sure all was correct before leaving our table. THANK YOU!!!"

  • "After our first venture to Sullivan's, I was a little less than impressed. The manager, John had reached out to me and asked that we give Sullivan's another go. I'm really glad we got the opportunity to experience this place again. Food was on point and Sean, the gentleman bar tender that waited on US, couldn't have been any better."

  • "Everything from the Valet, to the Greeting, to our Server was very well done. The flavor and quality of the food was exceptional. Sullivans is not inexpensive but well worth the money. The attention paid to my wife and our small party was perfect and the picture just made it that much more special."

  • "Sullivan's never disappoints. Just as good as downtown Indy's steakhouses without all the hassles and high priced parking!!!!!"
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "The food choices are both familiar and creative. Try the pre-fixed menu so you can try more options. Cheesesteak egg roll and calamari were incredible. You could taste the difference with the all of the homemade touches. Creamed corn is a must but it is not included in the dinners. Outstanding service from Ben on a busy Saturday evening!"

  • "One of the best steaks in Indianapolis. Nice romantic setting. Good service. Shrimp cocktail is good but not as good as Harry $ Izzy's or St. Elmo's where the shrimp are a bit more firm and the sauce is much hotter!"

  • "Always wonderful! Got to meet the corporate chef who provided the recipe for the blue cheese dressing. Gave us his card to ask for him on our next visit. Great service our servers Drew and Drew were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Will be back again for the next special occasion."

  • "The food was excellent. The server was excellent. However we waited 45 minutes past our reservation for a table. The noise level this night was extremely high on this night."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We had reservations at 11:30 and basically were the only ones there initially. We were seated at a small table in a tight spot next to a high table that clearly needed dusting. It felt cramped, even though we were in the middle of the room. It was our first time there and had to learn how to interpret the menu. We chose the mixer option I was not fond of the Caesar salad but the salmon and cauliflower was good. We also had dessert. The creme brûlée was wonderful. I thought the atmosphere was a little rushed & prices high. We will not be going back. We only came because we had a gift card."

  • "Was greeted as I arrived by the hostess and then a manager and my server in the bar- super friendly place! Service and food are exemplary always asking," how things are" !"

  • "Hard to top Sullivan's combination of great food and service!"
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "The food is fabulous, with the best deviled eggs I have ever had. The drinks are great too, particularly any with their house made sour. The service is friendly and prompt without being too formal. The steaks are delicious, particularly the filet trio special. They have an excellent wedge salad too. I highly recommend the caramel bread pudding too and the crime brûlée. Sullivan's is a great spot. It is a little pricey but worth it!"
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "The service was great. Our server did an outside ding job at explaining our options for the menu. She made us feel like we were her only customer."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "My husband and I selected Sullivan's for a date night because we had never been there. We were not seated until 15 minutes after our 8:30 reservation time. The entry and bar were VERY crowded and there was barely a place to stand to wait. This long, uncomfortable experience detracted from what could have been a special evening. My husband and I both selected filets but with different butters. Mine was the best that I have ever eaten. Service was adequate, but our server seemed rushed and distracted. It will be a long time before I go back based on the wait, atmosphere, and price."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Loved the lobster bisque and the wine selection. Will be back!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We had to wait over a half hour for our reservation. Then the food took forever. The service you expect at a nice steakhouse was not happening that night. It was clear they overbooked! The food was very good but the evening out for a special dinner was ruined by the dining experience."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Sullivan's did an incredible job servicing my group of 13. I was extremely impressed with their service and will certainly return and recommend their restaurant."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Food was phenomenal, but that was expected. I still can't get over how knowledgeable their staff was. Our server could describe any item on the menu in tremendous detail. Exceptional service."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "D.j. was great once again, and the managers were very attentive."

  • "I took my fiancé out for dinner as a birthday gift. It was both of our first time there. Everything was great! Food, service, drinks, etc. We will definitely return!"
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "I can't believe we hadn't been to Sullivan's before now. I didn't have the highest of expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised at the excellent service and the great food. Our server was energetic and made perfect recommendations. We'll definitely make this one of our favorites."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The quality of the food was not as high as I am accustomed to at Sullivan's. My filets had some definite fat/grizzle which is not what I expect when I go to Sullivan's. The service was excellent as usual and the bananas foster were off the charts delicious!"
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "I was excited to see Sullivan's on the Northside Nights list of participating restaurants. I had not been there before and it was a good excuse to give them a try. I made a reservation online, but when we arrived, the hostess was unable to find the reservation. The place was ridiculously crowded and the people waiting in the foyer seemed highly pretentious. Not one person in that packed room was smiling. Needless to say, we opted not to wait the hour and a half the hostess offered and went elsewhere. So, in summary, it was crowded, unorganizied, and bursting with rude people."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "I understand it being crowded due to the event, but waiting 45 minutes to be seated from our reservation time is a bit too much. The server was not overly friendly. When asked about an appetizer we had seen while waiting to be seated, we were told it was by request only. We requested it and when the server came back he did not say anything about it, so we asked and he said sorry we couldn't get it. We asked for water besides our drinks and waited for it to come. Finally another worker brought it. One person ordered their steak done, no pink; it came rare. They took it back and by the time the person got it back everyone else was done. When clearing the plates he did not ask if we wanted the keep the bread."

  • "We've been to Sullivan's several times and never disappointed. Food is amazing. We've never been disappointed with the food, service or the atmosphere. Open Table makes making reservations easy."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "I've heard a lot about Sullivan's over the years, but was really disappointed after my experiences. The service was great, but it was obvious that it was hard for all of the staff to maneuver though the very tight seating spaces. Our booth was extremely uncomfortable and definitely not meant to seat 4 people. It was really loud in the restaurant...the whole time. I would not call that energetic. My steak was not exciting...it was just okay. The green beans were boring as well. Crab & Lobster Bisque and the Cheesesteak Eggroll were fantastic! The specialty drink I had was a knock out! Dessert was the main reason why I chose to dine at Sullivan's and I was surprisingly disappointed in the Banana's Foster Bread Pudding and Cheesecake."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "The reason for the 3 on food quality was because of how tough the Sirloin was. It did not appear overcooked, it just had a lot of gristle. Our group always love dining at your establishment and this experience will not alter that."

  • "The Sullivan's on the north side of Indy is a nice change of pace for for a night out. With many steakhouses in the area Sullivan's provided what we were looking for. I would suggest a business casual to a formal dress code though there were a few that were more dressed down. The service was excellent and there was not one item on the menu that the server could not talk about in detail. Though we don't drink wine, the wine list is lengthy and the well drinks were strong as they should be for the price. Overall, a very nice night out and will return again."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "The preparation on the steaks was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive and efficient."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "The service was top notch. You can't better service. Me and my wife have been to Fogo de Chao and Ruth Chris here in Indianapolis. The service here could NOT have been better. However, the food was different. Overall, my steak was cooked to perfection for their style of cooking and the potatoes have a very distinct taste. However, all restraunts try to put their own spin on things and this place was no different. The desert was good, but nothing over the top amazing. However, the drink " The Knockout " was a stone cold killer. Absolutely amazing mixed drinks. Altogether, I couldn't recommend Sullivan's over Ruth Chris at the $100 price point. However, I would attend Sullivan's again. Great food and good environment."
