Sullivan's Steakhouse - BaltimorePrix fixe menu stands outMy wife and I have been to Sullivans many times. It is one of our favorite restaurants. The new prix fixe menu provides an excellent meal at a moderate price. We marvelled at Sullivans ability to serve this quality of food at the $39.00 advertised price. The shrimp cocktail was excellent and the lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing was outstanding as always. I had the tenderloin medallions with shrimp while my wife had salmon. (Her favorite) Both entrees were excellent. The special menu was excellent with enough variety to suit anyone. Desert is not included but taht was fine with us as we did not walk away hungry. The server greeted us promptly and wished my husband a "Happy Birthday". He ran down the specials and made suggestions. We ultimately ordered the 16oz New York Strip with the peppercorn sauce, to be accompanied by the potatoes augratin, and the lamb chops with roasted mushrooms. Both cuts of meat were perfectly cooked and insanely flavorful. The potatoes were delectably cheesy and the mushroom had very complimentary spices and were roasted to perfection. We devoured everything! We also received a picture that was taken of us in a nice frame signed by several employees. It was a sweet reminder of our celebration! However, my take home box did not include my delicious goat cheese sauce. That really made me sad. The meat was still delicious when I reheated it Though. I enjoyed myself.

I can't remember the cut of steak I had, but I wasn't thrilled with it, but I had a bite of my date's fillet and it was delicious. I thought it was odd that such a nice restaurant used paper menus. The service was great as the waiter and servers waited on us hand and foot. The ambiance was wonderful as the place was really dim and romantic - the perfect setting for our special occasion. The food was awesome...we had the crabcake for an appetizer, which to be honest, is a joke for 2 people..but it tasted awesome. The steak, lobster bisque, and the Caesar salad was all amazing as well. This place is also hidden away...drive slow or you could roll right past it! Overall, Sullivan's is pricey but worth it! I had made a reservation for a client dinner and when we arrived they had me in their books for the previous day. I had gone into change the party size so perhaps I accidentally changed the date? I started to panic because the place was packed and thought we would have to wait with our two clients forever, but the hostess was able to seat us in 10 minutes and no one even knew there was an issue with the reservation. Whew! Our server was wonderful, and a lively addition to the client dinner which was must appreciated. Everyone really enjoyed the food Sullivan's and a good time was had by all! A few of us chose from the prefix menu which was a great amount of food. The calamari was very good if you like some heat and the cheesesteak spring roll was fabulous! The filets were large and the sauces were very rich..
Since it was a group of six, we also tried the deviled eggs that were ok but the stuffed mushrooms were very large and good.. The birthday guest got the bread pudding that was like heaven.. I took my wonderful wife there for her Bday. What a pleasure. The prices actually surprised me, I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive then it was. Their specialty drinks were great. The food was brought out timely cold was cold and the hot was hot. They made it a wonderful Bday for my wife. That made him (my boyfriend) feel very special. I was happy that no one came out cheering and clapping as they usually do at restaurants--causing a bit of embarrassment.
