  • "My sons ages 16 and 17 had never before had a NY Strip, they so thoroughly enjoyed their NY Strips from Sullivan's I have not stopped hearing about it for 3 days"

  • "We went early, about 5:00 p.m., so the restaurant was very quiet. The hostesses and waitresses were extremely sweet and knowledgeable. We'd go here again in an instant."

  • "I haven't been to Sullivans in a couple years. Not sure the remodel was an upgrade but I am sure the service is the best in Austin!! Food matches as well. The staff was very friendly and made sure we had a great evening. I will go back for sure!"

  • "We've probably been to Sullivan's in Austin about fifteen times over the course of the last few years. Their overall food is good, and some items are very good - try the Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls, and take a good look at the cocktail list. Service is typically very good, with attentive and knowledgeable staff. Note that they tend to undercook their steaks slightly, so you might consider that when ordering. Overall a consistently good dining experience, and one of the best places we've found for steak in Austin."

  • "Service and food simply awesome! I had the Lobster Trio and can't stop thinking about this meal! I highly recommend."

  • "Very nice evening celebrating a 60th birthday. Service was excellent and our specific waiter was outstanding. Especially loved the crab cakes. We were there for a relaxing evening and did not feel rushed."

  • "For being a part of a very high end group of steakhouses, our party of 4 was not impressed at all. Our server was good. The food was way overpriced and undercooked. We all hadn't been there in years. I hear the hamburgers are good, but you don't come to a 'high end' steakhouse for that it's bad when a national chain beats the flavor, cut and at a third of the price."

  • "We met friends here after a theatre matinee and it was the perfect ending to our day. Not only was the food exceptional, the wait staff was fun and engaging. We'll keep Sullivan's on our favorite list!"

  • "I've been going to Sullivan's, for special occasions, for many years and it is always excellent. I hadn't been there since they remodeled (about 6 months ago) but I like the more "open" environment (i.e. they mainly just tore down some walls). I had the 12 oz filet and it was soo lender you could have cut it with a fork. And, of course, seasoned perfectly. I was there on Father's day, and my only concern with the restaurant is that it was not very busy at all. We got there at 5PM, so admittedly a little early, but even when we left at 7PM, there were still plenty of empty tables. This may be good news for some people, since they will not have to worry about getting a reservation and still be able to enjoy an excellent meal."

  • "One of the Managers, Janessa, made sure our romantic evening was absolutely perfect. Our server was so friendly, the restaurant didn't feel like a stuffy old man's steakhouse. This is now one of my favorite spots for lobster and steaks. As a high end restaurant regular, this is the best food I've had in a long time! The new renovation looks amazing- Mid Century Style!"

  • "I went to Sullivan's with my parents to celebrate my graduation. First of all the server talked way to much and would not leave our table alone! I have it give her credit she was nice but she needs to learn how to read the table. My dad is not the type of man that likes a lot of interaction with the wait staff and we were trying to catch up which was made difficult by the waitress that kept barging in on our conversations. It really was very distracting and annoying. Lastly, the food was okay but both my dad and I did not like our steaks because we ordered ours medium rare and they both came out undercooked. I sent mine back and it was better but my dad was so ready to get away from the overly talkative waitress that he didn't bother. "

  • "Food was great. Nice round table for our party of 6. Great service"

  • "Only one complaint, the temperature inside the build was a bit too hot. Other than that it was a great resturant "

  • "Tiffany provided impeccable service. The aged ribye was cooked to perfection. The Ridge 2012 paso robles Zinfandel recommended by the wine e sommeliers (yes plural) complimented the beef nicely. We were visited by at least 7 different employees...they were hitting on all cylinders! Great job!"

  • "We had the Salmon. It was just okay for the price. And the their bread was surprisingly bad. I couldn't believe it. They said it was fresh out of the oven, but it was cold, dry and hard."

  • "Not usually go downtown but wonderful meal. Good wine. Bit more spend for steakhouse but perfect for occasions and can recommend especially wine. Wish waitress little more helpful with that and not know all items menu. "

  • "Service was excellent. Manager handled a difficult situation perfectly. Love the franchise and this just kept it on the A list. "

  • "Lobster special was unique and very tasty. Great raviolis for appetizers ! Deserts tasted wonderful."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "All steaks were cooked well except for my cowboy cut ribeye. It was medium to medium-well when I ordered it medium-rare and I had to send it back for another. They got it out quick but I still had to sit there and wait for another steak while other people ate theirs. Sucks because it was my graduation dinner. They did give me a free shot for graduating. However, but that doesn't make up for the poorly cooked steak. I also didn't like how the cowboy cut ribeye wasn't uniform in thickness like the other steaks. A bit of a disappointment paying so much for that experience."

  • "This was the first time I've been to Sullivan's. We sat at a nice, and moderately quiet table so it was easy to chat while the place was packed full. Great food and great service. Will visit again!"

  • "Lively scene and good steaks make this a fun night out, but if you are a foodie not a terribly memorable one. Service is quite good. "
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "Sat at bar prior to dining. Smell coming from behind bar was like a back alley dumpster. Caesar salads were lukewarm and soggy. Steak was great and cooked perfectly, but it was not hot. Sides were ok, but also not hot. Very average experience at an extremely high price. Won't go back."

  • "Easy to make a reservation and we were lucky it was not a crowded evening. The service was good and friendly They have interesting menu choices especially for appetizers, although it is one the pricey end of the spectrum (~$15) The food selection was good, but the food was salty Again excellent service, good atmosphere, good selection, but pricey... good for special occasions "

  • "Make sure you have 90 minutes for lunch. Services is not quite lunch speed."
    Dined on 5/8/2014
  • "VERY LOUD until the space emptied out- uncomfortable. Crab cake delicious but very small for price. Steaks VERY good. Mushrooms delicious. Bread very ordinary. Would be better if warm with maybe garlic butter. Sides and dessert very good."

  • "The Easter brunch at Sullivan's was amazing. Service was great, the preparation was off of the charts, and the flavor was as good as it always is. There was way too much food for one sitting, but that's a great problem to have on a fixed menu."
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "Maybe that's what it's supposed to be but everyone seemed to be on an acid trip and freeked out there were customers who may be hungry"

  • "First time here and was very happy with everything. The main point of a restaurant is the food and that was exceptional but the staff, manager and establishment itself were all top notch. Very happy with this place and will be back; the steak was to die for!"

  • "My wife and I had Easter Brunch here and really enjoyed the meal. The menu was fantastic and for $36.00 each a great value. We always enjoy dining at Sullivan's and look forward to coming again soon. The waiter was very attentive, cheerful and the manager, as always, stopped by the table and chatted with us for a bit. "

  • "Found this place online, informative web site. Came into Austin for Easter meal with family. The whole experience was relaxing and better-then-expected. Valet parking, energetic and friendly parking staff (quick and nice personalities). We were seated ahead of our reservation time, thinking our early arrival might result in a wait. Wait staff was super sharp and patient with us (some kids). Food was quick to the table and absolutely delicious. Everyone at the table loved the dishes. My steak was one of the best tasting I have ever had. I do not typically write reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars."

  • "The menu, which we received online was most tempting, and priced very attractively. We often go to Sullivan's, so we knew what to expect in terms of ambience and service. The food lived up to our expectations (which were high), the service was excellent, and we really appreciated being placed in the private dining room."
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "We enjoyed the fixed price menu rather than splitting an entree, which was perfect with smaller portions. We just cannot eat that much at once! It left us room for a reasonable bottle of wine. "

  • "Overall, the food and waitress were great. The manager came to our table to wish us a Happy Anniversary, and at the end, we received a free dessert. The only thing that should have been done differently is, since reservations were made and the restaurant informed at that time that it was our anniversary, they should have seated us in a more quiet area...after all, it was our anniversary. Instead, they seated us in the very back of the restaurant where the hostesses congregate along with management, directly in front of the cooking area. That area was way too noisy and busy for what should have been a more romantic evening for us. I suggest that management pays more attention to the reason guests are there and try to seat them accordingly."
    Dined on 4/17/2014
  • "We had a small problem with our meal; however, the way the restaurant handled the problem (we all have problems, the question is; how well do each of us mitigate them) was exception. Great marks to Sullivans"
    Dined on 4/14/2014
  • "We decided that we owed ourselves a leisurely afternoon with great food. Sullivan's was it! The restaurant was quiet and peaceful, an oasis when compared to the outside activity of drivers and construction. We were seated immediately as we had reservations. The service was impeccable with being attentive but not annoying. Our glasses were filled repeatedly and courses brought accordingly with minimal interruption. The food was very well prepared and the salads were generous, a meal itself. We will be going back!"

  • "Everything about the evening was perfect, atmosphere, food, wine, serves. The only neg. was the bar music was so loud we had to shout to one another. Embarrassing as we were meeting with someone important for the first time"
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "Sullivan's is so noisy that its difficult to carry out a normal conversation. In the future, if I want to dine with noise, I'll go to Logan's or the Texas Roadhouse."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Steak was perfectly done as ordered. Spinach salad and creamed corn were standouts."

  • "Some things were really good. Some were a little underwhelming. I had the New York strip. It was cooked correctly and was very good, but feel like I've had better. We shared mashed potatoes (with garlic and horseradish) which were excellent and Brussel sprouts which were too salty. Started with a wedge salad which had too much dressing and instead of big slices of tomato or small whole tomatoes, it had some tiny diced version which were like getting them in a cheap salsa. That was disappointing, mostly because I love a good wedge and this was not that. Interesting variety of wines. Overall this is a cool place in downtown with a chic vibe, but felt like it was not as good as it should be."
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "The restaurant recently went through changes is the dining area to make the atmosphere more contemporary. The ambient noise level gas increased, but the food and wait staff are still top notch."
