Diner Reviews
  • "My Wife and I had a wonderful Dinner at Sullivan's. They served the best of both US and European Cuisines. The Menu was substantial with several "Specials" and the Wine List was superb. We are from the UK and thoroughly enjoyed the delightful service presented in beautiful traditional Dining Room. We have already made our next Reservation - Many Thanks"

  • "Great atmosphere with a variety of choices to choose from. Our waitress seemed a little stuck up but she did a good job and the food was great"

  • "I was a little disappointed that there were no vegan option. If I was not vegan, I would say this was a very nice restuarant."

  • "Six of us spent a lovely evening at Sullivan's and from the very beginning of the evening until the very end everything was delightful. Our server, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten recited the specials for us twice and was extremely patient and considerate with our group. We tend to be a bit chatty, ask a lot of questions and hardly ever order from the menu without asking for special considerations (salad with dressing on the side, packed to go), and my trigger fish special was absolutely perfect. We chose several menu items as well as the specials and everyone in our party loved their food. We shared several desserts and each one was yummy. We will definitely be going back again soon."

  • "The food was great though the menu did not offer a lot of choices. I had a salmon (don't recall the sauce that was on it) but it was pretty good. My entree came with a salad and it was $32.95. My husband had tuna and it came something called "lump crab sticky rice" and it was delicious. I loved it and hated that it was on his plate and not mine. His meal was $26.95. They are a little pricey, in my opinion. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend that everyone try it out."

  • "As always, the shrimp and grits were wonderful. The dessert was amazing! Great service and atmosphere. Made my reservation through Open Table and the seating I specifically requested was waiting for me when I arrived. I love this place!"

  • "Went with a group of 6 women. Lots of variety. Food was great for everyone. Service was great. Deserts were over the top. The only thing that we would have liked is the waitress to tell us what the deserts were instead of having to go and look at them. Old revitalized building. Very nice"

  • "Sullivan's really delivers for those individuals seeking great atmosphere mixed with fine dining. The food is prepared fresh and the quality was excellent. Some dining experiences leave you wondering whether a return visit will ever happen. Sullivan's leaves you wondering how soon you can return. This restaurant is a must for couples and groups looking for a great night out on the town."

  • "This was our second time here. We drive 45 minutes and it is well worth the drive! The food is wonderful and the service is exceptional. What sets this place apart is that you get large portions for the price you pay. We came home with leftovers both times!"

Great food and selections. Celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary and had a terrific evening. Already telling others and will return!!!"

  • "The menu has something for everyone on it. There is a lot of love and care put into each dish. Leave room for dessert...the choices are amazing...I was like a child pressed up to a toy store window looking at all the cakes, pies, cheesecakes. Key lime pie is always my love and they nailed it!"

  • "This was a great place for Valentin'es day! Our table was on the second floor against the rail with a perfect view of all the bustle down below. The venue was elegant. The food was incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was good; the staff know the menu inside and out. The only problem was the noise. It did get very loud during the busiest part of the night. Other than that, it was great. Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill is a great local place to celebrate special occasions all year round."

  • "We had to wait an hour after our reservation to be seated & were ignored in the bar trying to get a drink while we waited. Our server was the worst I've had in a while. The food was good as usual though."

  • "My wife and I decided to have a night out. The food and service were both good and we had a great time. Their dessert selection was amazing and our dessert was amazing. Overall, it was worth the money."

  • "Made last minute reservations to Sullivan's for a romantic date night. Ryan, our server, was impeccable and timely, knowledgeable about both the food and the wines offered. The trigger fish and duck we both shared were outstanding, desserts were amazing. After expressing ambivalence regarding our experience with key lime pie, Ryan brought us a complimentary order to try after we had finished our desserts. I was proud to be able to introduce my fiancee to one of the better stateside restaurants, coming from Rome, she has not found such fine fare here often."

  • "My office had hired a person from out of town. We thought Sullivan's would showcase downtown Anderson. Sullivan's has excellent menu choices, consistantly good food quality and service. Our waitress was not as attentive as I would have liked, poured water in a glass of Sprite, and a few other minor glitches. Everyone enjoyed their food."

  • "The food was excellent. Very tasty, looked pretty on the plate. Excellent. Miranda was an excellent waitress. There is nothing I could say that would be negative. Very good dining experience. Would like to see 1 or 2 gluten free dessert choices."

  • "As usual, our visit to Sullivan's was exceptional with regard to food, service, and atmosphere. For some reason, the hostess forgot to honor our Open Table reservations, and I had to clear it up later. Mage acknowledged the reservation and even used my name, but didn't check it off. In the end, they credited my account which was appreciated."

  • "Friends together for the holidays...party of eight...3 of the couples had never been to Anderson or Sullivan's. All were foodies. We requested a round table so that all could easily converse. We were so delighted upon arrival to see they had placed us in a lovely private room with a square table (sitting a couple on each side)...this worked out very well. The dinner was superb with excellent appetizers (hush puppies and black bean cakes) and entrees. Wine and IPA's were excellent and service was wonderful! Our friends were very impressed and a lovely time was had by all. Thank you Sullivan's!! K. Browder"

  • "Sullivan's never fails. The food, wine, service and atmosphere is wonderful. We carried a 6 week old baby in On a Saturday night. The staff was very accommodating. I happened to try one of the nightly specials and it was delicious. I have never gotten any food here that was not delicious.."

  • "It is always a treat to dine at Sullivan's. There were five of us at our most recent dining experience, including a nine year old boy and a strict vegetarian. Each of us was delighted with our selections, and the service was exceptional."

  • "Our group of six had a wonderful time at dinner this past Sat night. The food was there quickly, porportions were appropriate and the atmosphere was very nice. The only issue we had was the slope in the floor. Im sure its due to the older nature of the building but it made my chair slide away from the table and became bothersome towards the end of dinner. Overall great food and great service!!"

  • "This place was hopping on a Friday night. The downtown area is vibrant. The food was ok, the wine list needed work. Overall, the ambiance made it. It was crowed and noisy so not good for a romantic dinner. If you want energy, this is the place to be!"

  • "The noise level was very high. It was difficult to have a conversation. Most patrons started leaving around 8:30 PM and then the noise level reduced to a tolerable level. I found the atmosphere similar to a school cafeteria. My steak and shrimp special was excellent, done to perfection. My wife had the trigger fish special. The vegetables were very good, however the trigger fish was very chewy with a waxy texture. It squeaked when you chewed it. The salad dressing I had was the cherry or raspberry, I do not recall which. It was tatsy but far too sweet. It was more of a topping for ice cream sweet rather than salads dressing sweet. I could not eat it. Many of their dishes were sweet as opposed to savory, more geared to childrens tastes."

  • "Everything was fantastic. Went for my husband's birthday. The dessert display case with all homemade desserts is a favorite. I would like to see them offer a free dessert to the birthday person though."

  • "We had a great dinner at Sullivan's. My husband and I had the two fish specials of the evening and shared our entrees I have to say the triggerfish is to die for. I have had it before and always think it is good. I had the other fish special which I think was some kind of king fish, and it was delicious also, but you cannot beat the triggerfish. We finished with the chocolate Chambourg cake. Yum. The have a very extensive dessert menu. Also, I would like to recommend the bean cakes. Have had those in the past and they are the best. Sullivan's is great for any occasion whether it be a lunch with friends or a nice evening out."

  • "Went here for a surprise party, they put us in one of the rooms, which was nice. The food was good, some was good, and some was really yummy. I had the Mahi Mahi, this was delicious. The desserts are too big, and some are just ok."

  • "The food was delicious. The correct sized portion of healthy food. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Salad was a mix of lettuce. We loved the polenta cakes and used them to get every taste of the different sauces on the plate. Very colorful!"

  • "We love Sullivan's - the food is always scrumptious and usually the ambience is great. We brought guests in 10/11 and were very disappointed. Evidently they were catering an off-site event with half of their staff and at the same time were handling a wedding event upstairs and also trying to serve just regular customers. It was chaos - it took us 2 hours to get our food (it was delicious when it finally got there). It took nearly an hour to get our salads and 30 minutes to get a glass of wine - I never did get my iced tea. Our waiter was doing his best and was very apologetic, but I think they only had two waiters on the floor for restaurant customers. Needless to say, our guests were not very impressed."
