  • "It was our first time here and won't be our last. Great food and wine, tons of menu options for even the pickiest eater and nice size portions. Can't wait to go back and try another item off the menu!"

  • "What you would expect in a bistro- nice ambiance, wonderful service, tasty food. Recommended!"

  • "Based on the great reviews, we decided to try this bistro that I missed when I attended NYU. The seating and tables etc are a bit worn and old which made me doubt my choice. However, as soon as the food was served, it proved itself and all the reviews to be true. The ribs were perfectly prepared as well as my friend's tortellini bolognese. The waiter(s) were attentive and accommodating. In spite of the fact that the place lost some electrical power later in the evening, we liked this place very much. Without electric power, they could not make lattes or swipe credit cards. Fortunately I had plenty of cash in my wallet. We will definitely be back again soon."

  • "My boyfriend and I chose to come to Sullian Bistro for our anniversary dinner because it was near the Angelika Movie Theatre and it had great reviews on yelp. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We have since been back for brunch with friends and it was just as good!"

  • "I was looking for a quiet spot for brunch with a dear friend I hadn't seen for a long time. This restaurant has a small porch, just perfect for a lots-to-catch-up-on conversation. The food was fresh and tasty ... The service was fine, very laid back. But what was most important was finding this calm place in a hectic city."

  • "While weekend brunch is a long held tradition of NYC, its not always easy to find a place that dedicates 7 days a week to serving brunch! After an incredible dinner experience, i decided to take my best friend for an early weekday brunch(they open at 8am) and was glad my first experience with this quaint little restaurant carried on well into my second experience! As expected, service was warm, incredibly friendly and so very accommodating! We decided to order the salmon Benedict, their homemade corned beef hash and seeing how enthusiastic the staff was about the banana and blueberry pancakes we went ahead and shared that too! Everything was prepared to perfection. The mimosas (with fresh OJ!!) were divine! Again, highly recommended!!"

  • "I came in after reading various reviews and looking through Sullivan's extensive menu and was really happy that it was everything i was hoping and expecting it to be. They were incredibly warm and welcoming and you could easily see why this place also seems to be a neighborhood favorite. I was in the mood for something spicy and decadent and so opted for the BBQ Ribs with their garlic mash potatoes! It was simple yet incredibly rich and flavorful and went well with the Cabarnet that was recommended. I finished off my meal with the chocolate mousse and what a way to finish! Highly recommended!"

  • "This is a very comfortable and enjoyable neighborhood restaurant for a casual meal. Recommended"

  • "My husband (who is French) and I both thought it was authentically French. Unfortunately the authenticity they imported to NYC is the dreary, depressing vibe of not very good French bistros in shabby little towns. The food was okay, not awful but not particularly good. It was a weird mix of geriatric diner and French food, in a very cool neighborhood."

  • "My boyfriend and I reserved this restaurant for Valentine's Day for 4:30 PM, knowing big crowds usually come after that time. The service was great, and the food was even better. I had the eggplant parmesan; the eggplant was cooked deliciously with cheese melted on it. The broccoli was set on the side. I also ordered a baked potato on the side, and it came with sour cream and butter. The meal was very satisfying. Would recommend."

  • "A friend and I had dinner here. It was our first time dining at Sullivan Bistro and we were pleasantly surprised. We shared the beet salad, which was delicious. We both cut out carbs for 2014 (...or as long as we could manage) and the server gladly accommodated both our requests to substitute items on the menu to create dishes that worked for us. Two thumbs up!"

  • "Cute, calm, unpretentious place. Solid bistro food. Nice, attentive staff. It seems like an easy and pleasant place to return to for a brunch with girlfriend, dinner before a music performance, or a glass of wine and a salad."

  • "I had no trouble making a reservation on Friday for Sunday brunch. Friendly staff. The owner showed us to our table and was happy to chat with us. We had omelets and steak and eggs: all very good and good portions. Would like to go again for dinner."

  • "We gathered for a latish supper with our two sons last week. This a small restaurant with a nice menu. Atmosphere is comfortable and understated. Two of us had the chicken milanese and seemed happy with it. I had the fish and chips which were OK ( a little too fishy and dry); Other son had a ham and cheese Dutch crepe which he seemed to enjoy. We didn't order dessert or appetizers. Service was pleasant and we had a nice time in this nice little neighborhood restaurant. It was intimate and allowed for conversation and family togetherness."

  • "Our party of 4 was thrilled to find a restaurant that opened early enough on a weekday for us to enjoy a meal there before going to work. And as it turned out, the food was delicious. The fried eggs, the omelettes, and the pancakes were delicious. The service was very attentive and very friendly. This is a small place, with a French cafe ambience. The noise level was low enough - meaning we could make conversation comfortably. That was a real "plus" in our view. All in all, a great experience."

  • "I had the salmon special, cooked Medium Rare, and it was excellent. I have since been back for breakfast (eggs benedict), and it was just as good. Staff is extremely friendly and responsive. Gelila? who was my waitress for breakfast is a hospitality expert. I've never felt so attended to. My waiter for dinner (the reservation this review is for) was Zac. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu."

  • "I met up with some friends for brunch here and was very satisfied with my experience! The restaurant is small and had a nice ambience. They have a great selection of reasonably priced brunch specials. The food is not the best I've had, but it is good, andgreat bang for your buck! On top of that, brunch cocktails start at $5 which was great!! Service wad great as well. I would definitely come back here for a bargain brunch!"

  • "Very good food with lots of choices to make everyone happy. Our table had creeps, very good burgers,a couple of salads, grilled veggie sandwich, BBQ ribs. The veggies were all fresh and delicious. Service was great. A very good staff. It's a small restaurant, with a open kitchen on a perfectly quiet street. Oh, and we got to see Ana Wintour, who lives directly across the street. That was fun!"

  • "We had a great dinner at Sullivan Bistro. Food was excellent, and they had enough variety on the menu that the kids could find something they liked. The service could have been better, which was hard to figure because they only had a few tables. But it was passable. Would recommend, and would go back."

  • "Took some out of town guests here the other night for dinner. We were all very happy with the food and service. Ask about their mostly unadvertised Happy Hour drinks. They make some fine Mojitos!!!! Risotto with shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also had the Guac, and a smoked salmon on brioche to start. The hanger steak was the best we ever had. really, and the fries were great. You must try the chicken Milanese with basmati rice. Best chicken dish ive ever had. Its a small family run place, so they really took care of us. Dutch Nutella crepe with banana was the icing on the cake. Its all good. Definitley will recomend."

  • "Took my girlfriend out for a typical date-night. The food was great. The waiter was polite. The food was fantastic and not that expensive. It was a bit smaller than the photos made it out to be but that wasn't really an issue."

  • "Service was gracious and welcoming for a mid-morning brunch at this neighborhood friendly restaurant. However kitchen must pay more attention to preparation of meals. Several egg dishes were overcooked and meals were just barely acceptably hot even though the restaurant was not busy at the early hour. Perhaps an off day for the kitchen, as they certainly drew a crowd as the morning progressed. I'd give them another chance."
