  • "...for creative Italian cuisine. Never disappointed."

  • "If you're looking for a 5-Star Italian dining experience with a casual flair then Sugo is your kind of restaurant. The food, especially the pasta is outstanding. Try the gnocchi. My family has been going there for over ten years and we are never disappointed!"

  • "My husband and I ate at Sugo for our date night. . We love Italian food, but my husband is allergic to gluten. It is challenging to find a great Italian food restaurant that can accommodate our need for gluten free food. Sugo had excellent gluten free options and all of the food was delicious. We definitely plan on going back one day."

  • "From a party of 4 there was 2 of us who had the Arctic Char on Friday evening. It was for both of us the most overcooked and dry fish we have ever eaten in this city. Would not recommend this dish to anyone."

  • "We got a 4 course chefs meal and the apply was fantastic, the pasta was good but the fish that came with it was over cooked. The main was a chicken dish that was fantastic and the desert was nice. If the waiter had not been snippy and been remotely attentive the experience would have been great but really it was just…..meh."

  • "The service was excellent along with the food. I love the caprése salad! For my main course I had the gnocchi which were also very tasty. I love the way the food stays hot in the dish. The made to order factor is also great because I know that the food is fresh."

  • "We enjoyed our evening, great service, the food was very good and the wine selection was perfect."

  • "The food was fantastic but it was so noisy that we had to raise our voice to talk to one another. They screwed up our reservation request and gave our table away to someone. The waiter was not very attentive - we had to request for hot water three times. When it came to the bill we requested to have it split in half but he was so busy tending to others that he charged us for the full bill - good thing my husband checked before he ok the transaction or that would have been a very large tip. Nice waiter just needs to be more attentive to his table."

  • "There were 4 of us and our waiter Scott did an excellent job timing our meals and allowing us to enjoy the evening. We all had the Chefs table 4 course meal and you did not disappoint. Each course built on the last right throught to the final desert. Although very busy we were not rushed as a matter of fact they let us take our time and joy catching up with old friends. The atmosphere was very up beat and Scotts timing of food was perfect. Highly recommend for a evening out."

  • "I hosted a client dinner for 12 guests and could not ask for anything better. The service was attentive and professional. The food plating and presentation was appealing and appetizing. The food was delicious and ample. The libations were flowing and delicious. Overall, SUGO was an excellent dining experience and my Calgary-based guests all stated that they would definitely return. I know I will on my next trip to Calgary!"

  • "we went there for lunch and while the food was good, it wasn't special or unusual. I must give them credit though for addressing my dietary need, and substituting with a relly good option. The service is certainly not fast, so if you plan to attend this restaurant, allow extra time for their slow service. I know they say it's because they prepare everything by hand and as the orders come in but, we were there for 20 minutes before the waiter even came to the table. In the end it was fine, but with the plethora of restaurants in Calgary and particularly in Ingelwood, this would not be my first choice. that said, you will not likely be disappointed if you choose to go there (as long as you add extra time to your lunch for the slower service!)"

  • "The food was great. There were a couple of small annoyances however. 1) The restaurant appears to be in two sections - one with "real" tables, and the other set up more like a pub, with benches and tall stools for seating. The latter section is also by the entrance, so you would get a blast of cool air coming in every time someone opened the door. This tended to detract from the ambiance of a restaurant where you expect to spend a significant amount of money on a nice evening out. 2) Charging $1 for "Q water", which is just filtered tap water, and tepid at that. I can see charging a little extra for bread (this is all noted in the menu at the bottom in very small print), but the water too? That's just cheap, considering how much we spent"

  • "Everything about sugo is delightful, the food never fails to amaze. The wine list goes on for days and the staff is always pleasant and humorous. This place is an all around 10 out of 10."

  • "We dined on February 11, 2014 and despite being a larger group our server was absolutely fabulous ensuring all our needs were met and all drinks were full at all times. I believe his name was Jamie, he gave me a great recommendation regarding the Rib Eye and boy was he right. The experiences we've had at Sugo are always outstanding and always worth the drive for our family. We will most certainly be back."

  • "I had the pleasure of taking clients to a thank you lunch and we were treated to a wonderful Sugo experience. The service was attentive, charming and efficient, and the food was simply wonderful - beautifully presented, bright fresh flavours and perfect portions. I was also pleased by the reasonable price point of the fare at Sugo, dining in Calgary has gotten expensive, but the owners of Sugo seemed to have held the line on the their pricing. Our party of three ordered a glass of wine each with our entrees, and enjoyed coffees and desserts and the tab was under $100. If you haven't been to Sugo in a while, I encourage you to head to Inglewood and enjoy beautiful food in charming surroundings."

  • "My coworker and I came on a cold night and ordered the fish stew. The plate was huge and one bite was more delicious then the next. We were given fresh bread from the bakery next door to mop up all the leftover soup. We both left nothing on our plates. We go out almost every night as consultants on the road and we both agreed it was one of the best meals we had all year. (Sorry Carvers!). Thanks to Scott and his team for taking such good care of us!"

  • "Gordon our server, was AWESOME!...he anticipated everything, gave us a complimentmentary appy and desert for no apparent reason other than for us to enjoy our evening. And the food! Stupendous!! Sugo truly did turn a simple meal into a dining experience. The most fun I have had out for dinner in years."

  • "The service was very good. The food for the most part was excellent with the exception of the steak, it was pretty chewy. The lamb and appetizers were wonderful. The service was very good. I would totally recommend this restaurant. It was a little cold in the restaurant, but we were there on a very cold evening in December."

  • "As always sugo's was a treat, the service d the wine pairing was excellent. Only complaint is that it was much to loud, the tables are so crammed in you are practically part of other peoples conversations. Several time we could not hear what the winter was saying to us"

  • "We were given gift certificates for Sugo from two separate people. Therefore, we assumed that the restaurant must be good! It did live up to our expectations. As a bonus, on a very cold evening, we were seated around the corner, away from the cold and felt very comfortable all evening. The apple-squash soup was outstanding! We will be back again! *I am unable to comment on most of the above as it was our first time and have never experienced brunch, eating with kids there, etc."

  • "I took my team out for our Christmas lunch this week and we wanted to go somewhere outside the core and try something different. Sugo was a nice small restaurant in Inglewood. Downsides were parking and the cold temperature in the restaurant. Upsides were the beer / wine menu and the different types of lunch menu items that you don't normally see. Although I didn't try personally, my co-workers said the wild boar burger was awesome. Price was reasonable which may draw me back sometime in the future."

  • "A sign indicating which door to go into would have been appreciated. The scowl on the hostess's face was most off-putting, with nary a smile or hello, or welcome. None of that. I guess since it's such a popular place, they don't have to worry about dispensing with such curiosities like welcoming people. Then there was the flickering light. Incredibly annoying, and something that can set off migraines in the right person. Our server had no idea that it was on a separate switch and could simply be turned off, which to my relief another staff person did. Food was excellent and service was attentive without being cloying. Once the large groups came in and the noise level went through the ceiling, then the migraine really did start..........."

  • "We went to Sugo for dinner prior to the Flames game. It was very busy in the restaurant due to the holiday season however the waiter asked what time we needed to leave to get to the game and he paced the delivery of our meal to accommodate our timing. We had a sumptuous meal and made it to the game on time but the service did not feel rushed. We started off with a selection from the antipasto menu which we let the chef select and it was all excellent. All of the main course dishes that we had were amazing: stuffed lamb, chicken and the risotto. We didn't have time for dessert but we are definitely returning. This is a wonderful restaurant in Inglewood."

  • "We went for a quick bite before a school concert. We are so sorry we couldnt spend a few more hours there. Our server was fantastic and provided great advice on the food, which was delicious. I am now thinking of excuses to go back. try the lamb with fresh herbs, I'm still dreaming about it."

  • "Great food....appetizers were great we had a little picnic board. The main course was awesome as well, so much food couldn't eat it all. Enjoyed the wine too! The service was excellent as the people working there are very tentative to their patrons. Only bad thing is that is was a very cold day outside and since the restaurant is in an old building the air temperature inside was quite chilly."

  • "It was extremely noisy. We ordered a proscutto appetizer and the meat resembled montreal smoked beef. I had the ribeye steak and was terribly disappointed. It had way too much fat, was well-done ( I ordered rare ) and was quite thin. We will not be returning. Our waiter was very good though."

  • "Hosted a business dinner with colleagues from across the country. Started with antipasto to share with the table which included olives, a couple of different types of meat and cheeze, and cheeze wrapped in eggplant. A hit with everyone at the table. Several of the guests had pasta, while others have a stuffed chicken dish or house roasted pork tenderloin. Everyone was pleased with their main courses. Kudos to our server who kept the water and wine glasses topped up. The courses were nicely spaced. Our party left feeling quite satisfied. Thanks to the staff at Sugo for another excellent evening."

  • "This was second time to Sugo our experience was better than the first time. Waiter suggested a wine which we did not like a second bottle was brought that was more to our liking - no questions asked. The food was outstanding - flavours, presentation and service beyond. Thanks to the staff for a great time!"

  • "We've been to Sugo's many times and I must admit that as time goes on, the food, wine and atmosphere just gets better. Food offerings are not "bleeding edge". Instead we see interesting rustic Italian takes on what one could describe as mainstream Italian fare. Portions are good, not excessive, and the blends of flavours are always well thought out. Real table linens and a decent wine list round out the offering. You can find a quiet corner or chose the "long table" to enjoy your meal. For those of us that are gluten free, pasta dishes can be made gluten free as well, which is a real treat and doesn't restrict what we can eat. I would recommend Sugo's all day long as a go-to place."
