Longmont actually has a few nice
choices for restaurants. Sugarbeet is the best and is on par with any restaurant of its price range in Boulder."

Sugarbeet again proves they're the
best in North Boulder county - we started with the seared Ahi appetizer with avocado - amazing quality of product and the yuzu wasabi sauce was the perfect pairing. For dinner my wife had the vegan stuffed artichokes served on a fava bean sweet apple "hummus" - amazingly fresh and bright. I had the seafood bouillabaisse - I could smell the delicate fennel and touch of Pernod as soon as it was served - the prawns, mahi-mahi and mussels were all cooked to perfection. Service was attentive, friendly and knowledgable - she helped me with a pefect description of the Pays d'Oc wine that paired perfectly with my meal. All in all, Chef Seth continues to raise the bar for inventiveness and quality."

Enjoyable time at Sugarbeet on Fat
Tuesday. Received an email about the highlighted dishes for Fat Tuesday - good reminder to get me to make a reservation. Waitress, Rachael, was very helpful with suggestions and a taste of a wine."

Excellent meal! Our server was
professional and delightful. We will definitely be going back."

From appetizer to dessert,
everything was fantastic! The food was fresh, prepared expertly, and was presented wonderfully. Our waitress was also terrific! We will return!"

While there are other restaurants
that we enjoy, Sugarbeet is at the top of our list."
Dined on 2/26/2014
Appetizers were great, salads were
ok, main course was somewhat tasteless. Extremely loud dining room. Could not hear across a table for two it was so loud, partly due to a very loud server who was trying to be funny....more like annoying. Parking is non existent. Had to walk across a metal plate, gravel and around to the front of the building in ice and snow. No view. I won't go back. If I spend that much for dinner, I will go to Flagstaff House in Boulder."
Dined on 2/22/2014
I love this place. The food is
absolutely scrumptious. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable but still classy. The service was very good. Food and drinks arrived quickly. I can't wait to go back."
Dined on 2/21/2014
We were a party of six with three
month old baby. Open table had indicated that we could either get in early or late but not the time we wanted (6:45 PM) so we chose the later time. Sweet Beet called and changed us to the time we wanted and were ready for us as we arrived a few minutes early. The food was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully. The wines were lovely and the wait staff lovely as well. Matter of fact as we enjoyed our experience so well, we changed our restaurant for the next night for our of state friends and took them to Sweet Beets. Two nights in a row! The specials had changed and they were so delicious. The crispy egg plant parm was out of this world. A big city gem in Longmont! Highly recommend Sweet Beet !!!!"

Our first visit. Prompt, pleasant
(but not patronizing) service. Excellent pork loin. Excellent crab cakes. Excellent chocolate tart for dessert. Excellent wine. Lots of stone and tile, but with curtains and sound-absorbing tiles on a high ceiling, it was easy to carry on a conversation. Oh, there was one misfire. The mango margarita was nothing special."

For our anniversary dinner my
husband & I decided to try Sugarbeet again since we had not dined there in several years and our previous experience was not memorable. Well, we were pleasantly surprised to find the food delicious and the service lovely. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending selections for us. All in all it was a great evening & we will certainly be returning more often!"
Dined on 2/4/2014
As much as I would love to eat
hear more often, my wallet can't handle the expense, but for a special occasion, this is Longmont's BEST! The place is beautiful inside! The food is always great! Super wine list! Love coming here, even if it's only once in a while!"
Dined on 2/8/2014
Sugar Beet is a great little
restaurant, however I think they need to revamp the menu. It has not changed in the past 18 months. My biggest disappointment last week-end was the Charcuterie Board for $16 ...BORING !!!! The limited assortment of cured meats was proscuitto, genoa salami and cappicolla... nothing exciting or different. Best Dishes : roasted cauliflower appetizer , and the duck confit."

A hidden gem that is out of the
way. Independent restaurateur with great food, service and ambience. I'd love to keep it a secret but really want this restaurant to succeed. They deserve it."
Dined on 1/30/2014
My husband and I LOVE the sugar
beet. It is probably our favorite restaurant in town. We were, however, slightly let down by our entrée because it was impeccably executed the last time we came and this time it didnt live up to the memory. My husband still ate his fill. The service was excellent as always and the ambiance was wonderful. There are two sides to the restaurant, one is a little darker and quieter, this time we were on the more open side and the noise level was more moderate. Laughter carried from other tables and the mood was wonderful-cozy romantic and fun. we will of course be back and I can only hope that the next time is a memory making dinner and not one that (only slightly) fails to live up to one :)"

This is our favorite place to
dine! Great food, service, atmosphere etc. It typically has good vegetarian choices too."
Dined on 1/24/2014
Sugar beets was very accommodating
to my food allergies, the food was excellent in taste and presentation. I would dine again most definitely."
Dined on 1/18/2014
We were in town for a company
meeting looking for the right place for our out of town guests. Looking for a classy place with a different kind of menu... This was the right choice! We will return!"
Dined on 1/15/2014
The restaurant is very quiet with
a nice ambience and relaxing lighting. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was very mediocre. It is probably one of the nicer options in Longmont, but there are better restaurants in terms of food quality with the same type of ambience in Boulder. The location is a bit hard to find since it is not on a main street and you must drive under a bridge to find it."

Sugarbeet never ceases to please.
It's not cheap, so people like us who are not made of money shouldn't go except special occasions. It adds up, and I love their fillet, and that alone was $38. (Most expensive item on the menu, but worth it.) Get the dates. They're amazing. Salads are amazing. Deserts are amazing. Love this place! Wish I could afford to go more often. Thinking about going for their happy hour sometime."
Dined on 1/3/2014
The restaurant is so clean, neat
and the hostes is just excellent. The service is excellent. It is a very personal feeling when dinning with them. I would strongly recommend to anyone who want a quality meal."
Dined on 12/31/2013
The chef here is innovative and
continues to come up with tasty seasonally appropriate dishes many of which use locally sourced products. We recently enjoyed a really special chicory salad with blue cheese and some outstanding roasted cauliflower. Even realatively simple-sounding dishes such as these come out with special flavors and flourishes. Overall a great dining experience with fine food and and a diverse selection of good wines."

We have eaten at Sugar Beet
several times including just recently. Each time the dishes were unique, but not too odd, generous proportions, with high quality ingredients. We have often commented that we should come to the bar just for the soup, but are always seduced by the full menu. If you're looking for a special place to eat, this is it. The noise level is low enough that one can actually converse with their dinner partners and yet not hear everyone else's conversations as well. The pace of the meal is luxurious and the tables not so booked that you feel obligated to leave as soon as possible. Meals are reasonably priced for the quality of the food and the portions. I've paid twice as much for meals that were half as good."

Our annual family holiday meal
out- 2 adults with children age 11, 21, 22, 23.......food was good, warm, not hot. Server helpful. Table next to us enjoyed lots to drink and got louder and louder - to obnoxious. By far not the worst meal- but not the best ever."
Dined on 12/22/2013
We've been going to Sugarbeet for
many years. The wonderful food, service, ambiance, and value were always such that this was a favorite restaurant of ours. I'm not sure what's changed. The waiter was harried and let us know, and the food for the first time seemed overpriced. My wife has a vegetarian risotto for $24, and I had a shrimp and scallop dish for $30. Really I would have expected both of these to be about $10 less. The food was good. We're just not as in love with the place as we used to be."

Was recommended by a coworker,
what a delight. Great experience and highly recommend for that "special" dinning engagement"
Dined on 12/19/2013
We celebrated the holidays with
great bottles of wine, a full beer selection, chef prepared dishes, and loads of cheer!! Sugarbeet is a comfortable small chef restaurant tucked under a bridge in south Longmont. It has tall ceilings with wood beams and floors. The wait staff gave us excellent service and knew when to just let us enjoy without interruption. We come back often to Sugarbeet for the food, atmosphere and value. We enjoy the serving proportions; so generous."
Dined on 12/18/2013
Sugarbeet is an excellent
restaurant. I had lamb, and it was as good as any I've tased. Service was amazing, the surroundings warm and pleasant. This will be a new favorite, and we will return"
Dined on 12/13/2013
Not really worth the extra money
to dine here. We had stated it was our anniversary in our reservation. No mention of it all evening. I stated it at desert time....and got one with a candle in it, nice. But most EVERY other place would have given it free, not here....c'mon, after spending ALL that money."
Dined on 12/10/2013
I live in Fort Collins and make
special trips to eat at Sugarbeet. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, I love the atmosphere, and I totally appreciate that the noise level is low!!!! Will definitely refer Sugarbeet to everyone!"
Dined on 12/7/2013
Sugarbeet is our favorite place to
eat in the area for any occasion! The waitstaff are great and the food is always fresh and unique."
Dined on 12/7/2013
It has been my pleasure to eat at
the Sugarbeet several times. The food is always interesting and fresh. The service is always attentive and helpful. I put it up there with the finest restaurants In the Boulder area and maybe all of Colorado. Do yourself a favor if you haven't tried this hidden gem. The hardest part will be deciding on what to eat (or perhaps finding the restaurant). Stretch out from your normal routine and order something different. It is all wonderful and surprising."
Dined on 11/29/2013
We love SugarBeet, and it
continues to thrill us with great food, best service (thank you, Lance!), and private ambiance that we enjoy!"

Dined on 11/17/2013
Food was excellent, well prepared
and delicious. Service was very professional and very relaxed. My party of four were all very satisfied with the experience."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Sugarbeet has been on my list to
try since it opened. I'd heard lots of good things about it. While the 5 of us were all very pleased and impressed with everything we ordered (except for my less-than-memorable risotto), the ambiance and service left a lot to be desired. There were other dishes that we wanted to try but not sure we'll drive all the way from Boulder again in the near future."
Dined on 11/7/2013
This was our third visit up to
SUGARBEET in the last 18 mos. As always great menu, wine, and service. I have no complaints at all....only wish it was closer to DENVER ! - not something that is likely to change.... could we start a shuttle bus ? LOL Kitchen knnows their stuff. Thought my steak might havve been a 'bit' overdone -but minor issue. Carry on and keep at it....love your work."

A Northern Colorado gem ... among
the best in the state."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Once again a wonderful dinner at
Sugar Beet. The charcuterie plate was the hit of the evening. Excellent meats. Maybe a couple more slices of toasted bread to accompany, but we didn't ask for more. The special was sea scallops which tempted 3 of us. The other guest had steak. We were all pleased. I had requested a quiet table and we were seated in the smaller room. The larger room is very nice, just a little bit louder but fun."
Dined on 11/2/2013
I've been coming to this
restaurant for 2+ years. Found it during either Boulder First Bite or Denver Restaurant week. The food changes seasonally and is consistently good. Nice wine list. Service is consistently good. It's become my "go to" place to take friends for birthdays and other celebrations."
