Stuzzi - Richmondexcellent pizzasI had another very consistent meal at Stuzzi. The pizzas are delicious, and are my favorite thing to order. The salads are large, fresh and very tasty. The mozarella is made fresh, in-house and has a great flavor. Every time I have been to Stuzzi's I have enjoyed my meal. The thing that keeps me from going back more frequently is the noise level which is VERY high, and the inconsistent service. Each time we've dined there the food has been delicious and there have always been great specials to try. And the pizza - actually comparable to NYC pizza! They were both specials and I hope that they are the specials all of the time because they were amazingly special!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our sweet spotsWe walk here from our house and the food is fantastic, the vibe cool (but noisy), and the owner friendly. This time we had a new young waitress who had not been trained -- knew nothing of wine service, or table bussing. The pizza oven was running behind the kitchen and one entree came out far later than the others.
This place is casual and these little blips happen, but the food and friendliness make it worth while. That would be my only complaint was our server, she never checked on us , I got up to get my own straws and napkin and had to ask someone else for sugar for my espresso . Keeps the place feeling welcoming to all guests , felt like a little Italy NYC restaurant. The food is top notch and always distinguishes itself through fresh ingredients prepared perfectly. The arugula salad is a treat with a wonderful balsamic dressing. The calamari is tender and flavorful. The Penne Caprese has the most incredible tomato sauce ever.
