  • "Picked it because we needed to be in that area for the evening. Service attentive. Limited wine options. Food acceptable but did not stand out. In season Produce should have been fresher for a July meal. Probably will not go back."

  • "This place had awesome food and the atmosphere was very nice. We went there using 225 vouchers and now we're sold. We will definitely be going back. Loved it!"

  • "....our waiter Matthew was very attentive without being over-attentive! I tried the pork ribs for the first time and they were so very tender!"

  • "We shared our 22nd Anniversary dinner together in a cozy booth. Wine, starters, entree and service just at the appropriate moments. Thanks Stroube's."

  • "Stroubes is conveniently located and has been widely praised. My wife, a friend and I ordered from the Summer Lunch menu. We had the shrimp remoulade, the duck and berry salad and pan-fried catfish with okra and parmesan cream, and promptly returned the remoulade and the salad, which were simply inedible. The shrimp were tough, fibrous and tasteless, served with a thin sauce that in no way resembled a remoulade. The duck meat seemed to be scraped from duck backs and neck that had boiled for hours at the bottom of a stock pot. It was nicely presented on baby spinach and adorned with fresh berries, then covered with a bitter, strangely flavored dressing. The catfish was attractive and well prepared. Maybe we should have ordered steaks."

  • "Very loud. Food was average at best. Except for the delicious bread pudding. Very little privacy due to table arrangements."

  • "Dinner before a show at Manship. Service was very good. Delicious corn, crab, & brie bisque & chargrilled mahi mahi. Will definitely return."

  • "We were simply wanting to try a new place and were very pleased. Our waitress was very attentive and had excellent knowledge of the menu items. The menu had several unusual dishes that I dont know if I would have tried them if not for her suggestions. The choices she recommended were outstanding for everything. The Stroube Roll Appetizer is a must...Delicious and tasty! Staff were very accomodating and willing to satisfy every customer. If I had to find any negatives it was that the wine selection was not very abundant in the varieties that I favor and prices were a little over the top on the entrees and wine. I would recommend this place for a nice relaxing or romantic night out."

  • "Had lunch there and everything was spot on. I will be back next Wednesday to try the daily lunch special of Chicken and Waffles. Again thank you to the staff for making copies for me."

  • "Wonderful atmosphere, incredible food, surprisingly large portions. Awesome experience."

  • "The service and ambience were outstanding! I had the 6 ounce filet cooked medium with a side of the best creamed spinach I have ever eaten. I am a steakhouse junkie and I guarantee that the creamed spinach was the best I've eaten. The steak was cooked to perfection and my blue cheese wedge with carmelized onions was outstanding. My wife had the southern fried chicken and she did not like the main part of the dish. The chicken seemed like it was pre-cooked, however, the okra and andouille sausage sauce that accompanied the dish was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends."

  • "My turtle soup was outstanding! My wife had the corn and crab bisque and it was excellent as well. The entrees was really good but nothing spectacular. Service was good. But the mixed drinks were not made very well."

  • "Great start to a great evening downtown. Referred by our hotel seated promptly. A little loud due to the crowd but not their fault. Great job."

  • "My girlfriend and I dined at Stroubes for a special date night. We made reservations for 7:00 on a Saturday night and were seated upon arrival. The server was immediately at our table offering cocktails. We instead ordered a very reasonably priced btl of Pinot. At the suggestion of the server, we had the Stroube Roll for an app and it was fantastic. We had the duck and the redfish special for entrees and both were amazing and very generous portions. As stuffed as we were, we heard how delicious the bread pudding was so we had to order it and it was by far the best bread pudding I've ever tasted. The manager delivered the dessert and ensured our visit was perfect. Stroubes knocked it out the park and we will definitely be back."

  • "First time diner at Stroubes and was totally pleased with the experience. All of the qualities I demand for fine dining were present. The staff of Stroubes were promp. efficient, and very friendly. The manager visited our table to ensure that our order was up to our expectations. Stroubes will become one of my favorite restaurants in the downtown Baton Rouge area!"

  • "The steaks are good, the red fish was delicious. Wilted spinach over crawfish risotto was good but waaay too salty. Service needs to be more attentive, or staff up on special occasions so you're not spread thin."

  • "It was great for daughter date night before a show at Manship. The redfish and grilled oysters were excellence. My steak was cooked just right and was very tender. Will be back soon. "

  • "My wife and I decided to try something new for our anniversary. After surfing the internet we found your menu to be very inviting. Once arriving at the restaurant we were pleasantly greeted by your courteous staff and the service and food were superb. We both had the Steak Frites and also the blue cheese and bacon grits. Everything was awesome. Especially "

  • "I dined here in January and my filet was overcooked. I complained on Open Table and was promptly contacted by the GM. We gave them another try and Stroubes completely redeemed themselves. We had a wonderful dining experience. We'll be back. Thanks Eric. It was a pleasure to meet you. D. P. "

  • "My husband was celebrating his birthday and I wanted to bring him to a special restaurant in his honor. He'd only been to Stroube's for lunch and I had never been before so it seemed the perfect choice. Great atmosphere, awesome service. Lori was our waitstaff rep and she provided excellent knowledge of the menu and spirits and they were spot on. Will we return? Absolutely!"

  • "Four of us, one vegetarian. One bottle of wine. Total before tip: $240. Website references their "reasonably price wine selection". We ate in three nice restaurants in the three nights we were there, and Stroube's was the most expensive wine of any. Essentially, the cheapest was around $65--and they were out of that one. Food ranged from $22 for the veggie, to $36 for tuna. Noise level varied, but the bar is in the same room, and I gather some sporting event was on the TV producing cheering and other noise not adding to the ambience one would expect in an upscale restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was superior. Prices: food a little high; wine outrageous."

  • "Expansive menu with salads, burgers, sandwiches and daily entree specials. Fresh fish, wonderful gumbo and great bread brought to your table. Stroube's is a wonderful addition to the Baton Rouge Restaurant scene and a great place to dine downtown. "

  • "This is worth a review! We made the latest dinner reservation 9:30 pm on a Saturday night! The kitchen closed at 10. We ordered our food, the waiter, Danny gave an amazing wine suggestion! All 4 of us in our group enjoyed EVERYTHING we ate! We will now be faithful Stroubes diners. Danny was an amazing waiter, and the entire staff was fabulous! "

  • "Me and my date went to eat at Stroubes for diner last Saturday before our prom and needless to say they where amazing! The service and food was fantastic and we greatly enjoyed ourselves, I got the chargrilled oysters and she got the shrimp and grits! I will without a doubt be returning to see how the rest of the menu is!"

  • "The food and service was outstanding. This was only my second visit, and I would highly recommend Stroube's as a favorite!"

  • "All was great with exception of two things: 1. Soups were too salty; started with duck gumbo and so salty had to send back. Waiter graciously switched my order to the Corn/Crab Bisque but it too was very salty. 2. While the hot French bread was great, we had to ask the waiter for bread & butter plates, which are routine in most good restaurants Loved the wine list."
