"Chef Scott, our server, Danny, and all of the staff at Stroubes treated us like guests in their own home. The atmosphere was unpretentious, modern, and peaceful, even though a Blues Festival was taking place directly across the street. We ordered a tasting menu since it was a special occasion and it was before the evening dinner rush, and the food was beautifully presented, delicious, and unique - foie gras with a boursin cheese creme brulee stands out. My favorite dish was the sea bass set atop lobster risotto. Or was it the BBQ shrimp and grits (try it with Abita Strawberry - awesome pairing)? My date, who loves food and cooking, said that this was by-far the best dinner he has had in a long time. Fabulous experience all around!"

"This is one of our favorite restaurants in Baton rouge. We've been here about 15 times. The steaks were not as good this time, lobster tail was overcooked. Our waiter was friendly and responsive, but not well trained. We started off with the Stroube's roll which was delicious. Calamari was good also. We split a filet which is customary for us, but it was butterflied, not cooked whole then split, so it was overdone."

"This is a great restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge. We visited with our family from out of town and they were very impressed with the magnificent food and the quality of the wait staff. This is upscale dining at its finest. Excellent steaks, seafood, and local Louisiana cuisine in sauces that one would probably not want to waste a single drop of. Being downtown, one must make a walk from either street parking or garage, but it is most certainly worth the effort to get to this gem. Downtown continues to undergo renovation, so this restaurant blends in to it's newly improved surroundings rather well. Highly Recommended."

"I introduced several friends from out of town to Stroubes and we all agreed that food, service, and overall quality of this place was second to none. The crazy thing is that it somehow seems to get better everytime I go. Don't change a thing, just keep up the outstanding work!!"

"Maybe it was the dishes we ordered, but the food was mediocre at best...the bisque was great, the wine was awesome, but the Stroubes Roll was tough and tasteless...the charbroiled oysters were good, but different than expected - no buttery sauce to dip the bread in. My fish dish was dry and bland. We may give it another try, but for the price it didn't live up to the rave reviews I heard. The Wait staff were excellent and enjoyable."

"Steak was delicious, oyster appetizer is to die for! Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Service was top notch. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Can't wait to go back!"
