StripGood prices, good drinks, good foodThis was my first time at Strip after all the years its been there and I don't know what's taken me so long! The first good impression was that I received a phone call to confirm my reservation early during the day, then when I got stuck in traffic and called to let them know I'd be late, they assured me I would still have a seat and, sure enough, even 40 minutes late, my date and I were still seated.
Our server was great, the sushi and salad I ordered were superb (even though the server said one of their sushi chefs was 'missing' when I ordered!), and the atmosphere was great for a Saturday evening. Not extremely busy, but 'happenin' enough to know we'd made a good choice. Ientioned in the notes that it was a special occasion for my wife and I and that I would like a table with a view. When we arrived the hostess was actually excited to see us. We were shown to our table which had a white, linen tablecloth (the only one in the restaurant). I can't begin to describe how special that made us feel that they went out of their way to make our experience a little more formal. And then the food...awesome! We had a rainbow sushi appetizer, the 8 oz. filet, and ginger salad. The food stands alone to make this place 5star. The fact that they had amazing staff and a great atmosphere just makes it that much more incredible! Would I recommend this restaurant? My wife had the prime rib, done perfectly, & I ventured away from my usual dish, the lobster sliders, to try the chicken and waffles. While the chicken was not to my liking, too much pepper in the seasoning, that won't slow me down from going back. Upstaris also offers a bar and nice balcony. The menu is very diverse with great steaks, sushi and fantastic sides. The restaurant was a but packed due to the special that night. However the manager made sure we had a table in a nice area of the restaurant. The food was excellent as usual. I invited my girlfriends out to dine with me and they feel in love with the experience they received at Strips. The water filler and our waitress continuously serviced us with patience and great vibe. As usual the food was fresh and seasoned to the "T" ... yummmmy, EXCEPT for the spinach. The ambiance was good, however, with most of my friends wearing eye glasses, so they did complain about the light inside of the restaurant, as it was 8:30 when we began to order, the sun had gone down and the lightening inside was very dim. Curiously there was no mention of the $10 3-course lunch deal advertised outside, but everyone in our group ordered from the regular menu anyway? Food came fairly quickly, everything looked very appetizing and portion sizes were pretty generous for lunch. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered (shared appetizers, fish specials, various burgers/sandwiches), just a shame we had no room for dessert ... this was an easy place to drop into for lunch on a tight schedule (ie. no traffic / safe parking), so we will likely to go back some time!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceI took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had an amazing experience. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. My sushi was amazing. His steak and mac n cheese were immaculate. Food was top notch, I had the seared tuna steak, huge and the best I have had since I lived in South Florida and I caught and cooked it myself. Also had a Rainbow roll, caprese salad along with some asparagus. The upstairs bar is the best place to be. Christina is one of the best bartenders in Atlanta and provides excellent service each and every time we dine with her and her other coworkers Gisi, Bonnie & Jeff.
The Chicken Potsticker Appetizer is one of the best. Sushi is always fresh and properly prepared. The wedge salad is great. Great job to the entire staff at Strip. She made a prior reservation for us for Strip. The peach Sangria's were fabulous! I had the special-redfish & she had prime rib. Both were cooked to perfection.
