  • "I have eaten here three times and there has never been a flaw. It's a beautiful restaurant, very busy but they handle reservations well. It's expensive but one of those places where you just feel the experience is worth it. Steaks are great; service always very prompt. It's a basic steak house menu, but everything that my table ordered came out looking really good. One of the waiters even recognized me from a prior visit. The first time we were here the same waiter brought us free cheesecake for dessert. It is very clear all the staff from the hostess to the waiters are well trained in customer service."

  • "Go for the steak - obviously. Extremely well grilled, with deliciously charred and melted fat on the edges and marbled or not marbled cuts to choose from. Simply grilled with good coarse sea salt. The chocolate cake is a killer that can only be subdued by a team of people. So bring a good team."

  • "My friend was required to take off her wool cap according to a company "no hat policy" if we were to eat in the dining area. We ended up eating at the bar since the "no hat policy" to apply. The strange part was, there was already a diner, a young man, sitting with his family, with a bright white trucker hat on - which my friend pointed out when she was told to take off her wool cap. I would like to add that my friend is a cancer survivor, therefore there was a reason why she still had her cap on, in addition to the fact that it was winter. Lesson of the story, don't wear a cap to the Strip House no matter the season or medical condition."

  • "There for my pre-Birthday dinner. Our rez was for 8pm. Our table wasn't ready on time, so we had a round in the bar. After 20-30 minutes we moved to our table. We ordered three courses of food. Lots of sides too. We had one more round of drinks at the beginning of the meal. Our waiter left at 10pm so he said good-by. Everything seemed good until we ordered a third round at 10:30. We'd been there for two and a half hours, the place was still half full on a Thursday night, we had arrived in a cab and were taking one back later. They said no. We were polite and well behaved, we were celebrating. The waiter, his first night had said something to the hostess. Over $400.00 bill, first time I've left no tip."

  • "This restaurant was on of the few good ones that were open on New Year's Day. The server was very professional and knowledgable but dropped the ball a little towards the end of our meal when both him and the bussers kept on interrupting our meal and conversation by repeatedly asking if we were done with our entrees. Why was it necessary? The place was barely half full the entire time and it was just 9pm. The food? Fresh oysters and remarkable NY strip steaks. The wine list? Overpriced for the quality. Service? If only the server and busser had better communication with each other I would have gladly given it a higher score. I still left an over 20% tip because this was New Year's Day and they had to work."

For me I didnt think there was much ambience, we had a small table near the behind bar entrance, which was cramped. It was somewhat dark, and overall seemed too crowded. The Strip House upstairs appeared more comfortable; I will probably go there next time. All n All very good dining experience, but it was pricey--well over $200 with tip and only 2 glasses of wine."

  • "When we entered the restaurant we were immediately hit with an old musty smell that began my descent into what I thought would be a disappointing experience. We were quickly led away thru the main dining room past Jack White to a hallway and down a set of dark stairs. I was like oh no not La Esquina! We entered a small ceiling room with maybe a dozen tables and a small bar- The Annex. I was initially annoyed as I am a main dining room type of guy. After an intro from the waiter, a longing look from my dates beautiful eyes and a properly served cocktail I settled in to what was a glorious meal from both food and service."

  • "When i made the reservations i made a follow up request to sit in the main restaurant; which was never answered. When I arrived I could not find the Next Door Strip Joint so I went into the main Resturant. Which had many open tables. So they directed me to the speak easy side. Their we were seated in a small dining area, only to be knocked by waiters and alike. We did ask to be moved and were quickly accomadated. I ordered one of the salads in which i kept thinking theirs not enough dressing. As fort the main course, texture of the steak was fine; but had no taste. I have had much better steak at other steak places. I was served a stale glass of wine which could happen any where. It was replaced. I will say the dessert was excellent."

  • "I went for a special occasion expecting to pay top prices for top food. The rib eye was very good, but the sides left a bit to be desired. The lobster bisque was slightly overly sweet and had zero fresh lobster chunks in it. Our table was an elbow's swing away from the other two tables on either side and the place got incredibly noisy. It was so crammed that our waitress was literally encroaching on my personal space with her arms while taking the other table's order. I'm not too difficult to please but for $250 I would expect every aspect of this dining experience to be exceptional and it just wasn't. Next time I will stick with Del Friscos Grille or the Palm. They seem to be a notch up in every category for about the same prices."

  • "The description didn't alert us our reservation was for the basement, seated next to the bar and a toddler. Other restaurants would have, but Strip House is one of those aged, pompous institutions with the self-awareness of a cigar smoker. I wonder if the staff has visited any of the better restaurants in walking distance (including across the street). My steak was tough, medium-rare as ordered, but not amazing. Starchy sides were nothing special. When a floor manager checked in, I didn't want to cause a fuss, which shouldn't have been a concern, because when my partner mentioned my chewy steak, the manager didn't even offer a second, stingy 6 oz pour of wine. When the $200 bill arrived, I wanted my money, time and apatite back."

  • "I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was mushy, not flaky. For this expense, I would expect fresh, not previously frozen fish. If your party is comprised of steak lovers and fish lovers, you need to set expectations for those that do not want to order steak. The remaining menu is limited and the sea bass mushy. The upstairs restaurant was very noisy, but fortunately we were stated downstairs where the noise level was decent."
