Strip HouseAmazing Steak restaurantThe food was really great and the service was very good as well. I am very satisfied with my experience there and will be a returning customer.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent night out.The Strip House was amazing. I had guests in the City from out of town, and they were impressed with not only the delectable food, but the amount of history in the restaurant. Our server was very well-informed with respect to the history of the place and the photos hanging made us feel like the place was alive. The porterhouse was fantastic.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPeople said it was the best and...It did not disappoint, amazing food and wine, served flawlessly. We had oysters, crab cakes and the shrimp cocktail appetizer, Then we all had steak, I had the 12 oz filet, someone had the ribeye and we shared the Mac n cheese, broccoli and the twice baked potato. Every single dish was perfect. A++++6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Evening for a Perfect SteakThis was my third visit to the Strip House on 12th Street in the Village, and it lived up to my expectations based on previous dining. I ordered the 12-oz. filet, and, boy, what a steak! Absolutely wonderful and flavorful. The appetizer salad was delectable and the side dishes perfectly prepared. Add to this the courteous and prompt wait staff and it all amounts to a splendid, romantic evening.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentThe Strip House has everything you are looking for. Courteous wait staff, an abundance of history, and most importantly excellent food. Steaks cooked to perfection, a vast selection of wines, and a 12 layer chocolate cake to die for! Thank you!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, but miss the corkageI love the way they do steak here: simply seasoned, perfectly seared and always the right temp in the middle. The sides have just enough of a twist to make them interesting without trying too hard. My one big disappointment from my recent visit was that they have killed the corkage fee, not allowing guests to BYOB anymore. It's a great option to have, and I'm seriously bummed they dropped it.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steakGreat dinner, great appetizers, great ambience. As steak houses go I'd rank between Morton's and Peter Luger.
Really enjoyed my dinner and my dad who's a bit of a steak snob said he'd eat there again which is high praise.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome AnniversaryI enjoyed everything about the place the ambiance, service and food. You try the Strip House roasted bacon , Mac and cheese , and the over the top Strip House chocolate cake. I almost fell off my chair when I saw it. Delish!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic steak houseAmazing steaks. Had the Chateaubriand for 2 and it was melt in the mouth. Not cheap...meal for 4 with a bottle of wine came to US$480 but worth every cent!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very nice dinnerWe had a very nice dinner at Strip House. The steaks (rib eye with bone and fillet) were excellent and well cooked and the side orders were delicious. The decor is nice and service is friendly and attentive. Only areas for improvement would be on 1) tables are a little close to each other so it is not a very intimate experience for a date and 2) prices are quite steep (we paid about $350 incl tip and only had 2 steaks, 3 sides, shared a sorbet and had a bottle of Grolsch Hills for $145).5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe BEST Rib-Eye PERIODAs always it was a remarkable experience from start to finish. This time instead of the Porterhouse for two that is sensational and we get every single time... I opted to try the number one in NY rated Ribe-Eye... The best I ever had. Wow!!!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst experienceGreat steak...unusual rub.
Great red atmosphere.
TJ5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat group eveningStrip house was a crowd pleaser and had enough variety on the menu (including fish) that everyone was happy. Wine list had upscale varietals and also bottles under $100. Like most steak houses it's typically a man cave however the decor and ambience still make it friendly enough that women feel comfortable. The twenty-something-layer chocolate cake slice at the end was perfection!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Everything was amazing. Great food & great service. The filet was perfect & all the sides were delicious, especially The Strp House Potatoes. I only wish we had one in Los Angeles!!!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMloooveThis the only restaurant that i forget how much better everything is than what i remembered it to be the prior time5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWorld Class SteakhouseWe started with soft shell crabs and lobster bisque. The crabs were good but not outstanding and were a little overpriced at $19. Bisque was very flavorful and a decent sized portion, but a little under-seasoned. Our entrees were bone-in rib eye, boneless rib eye and petit fillet, all of which were outstanding, perfectly cooked, moist and wonderfully flavorful. Sides were broccoli and green beans, which were excellent as always. We found a very good California Cabernet from a good vintage for $130, which is not cheap but is not outrageous for the quality of the wine. Service was professional and friendly, but not obtrusive or phony. All told, Strip House is a world-class steakhouse and well worth trying, but not for the budget minded.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFab MealWe had a fab meal at the Strip House. We both had filet mignon and they were both cooked to perfection. We didn't have a dessert however as it was my husband's birthday, he was given a complimentary slice of cheesecake. The only thing to 'fault' the restaurant would be that the tables are very close together and so not the most private dining experience. However both the food and service were fantastic and would reccommend a visit there.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMreviewalways love the food but was not too pleased that my bud and i had to wait 30 minutes for out table5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food and servicewe very much enjoyed our dinner. service was on point and the food was delicious. i've eaten at many steak houses in town, but this one takes the cake.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Food Every TimeWthou my son and I have come for dinner several times over the last few years, this time we
brought along my wife for mothers day and three of our five daughters, along with my sister-in-law.
We enjoyed steak, lobster, salmon and chilean sea bass. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our
meals and no one went home hungry.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Steak House in NYCEverything was just great! Service, food, atmosphere - everything was great!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent mealWe arrived and were promptly seated. We explained to our waiter that we didn't want to feel rushed but were under a bit of a time crunch. The meal was spaced perfectly. Everything we ate (mozzerella & tomato, raw bar, two different steaks, string beans) were all cooked perfectly. The experience was very nice.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest ever, but too MichelinWe've never eaten a better steak, but it was served with too much potatoes and vegetables. When I order broccoli, I expect broccoli for ny seld, not ny whole family. You could serve less without loosing your touch.
Fabulous location, service and atmosphere.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect SteakThis will rate in my top steakhouses. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Loved the warm pretzels in the bread basket!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAppreciated the attendanceA good restaurant experience happens from the moment you make a reservation. When I made the reservation I requested a booth or table to the side. We arrived and did not have to wait. We were escorted to a wonderful corner booth. Service was prompt discreet and attentive at just the right time. Food was perfect! Our guests felt pampered thank you!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gem and kinda historic!!!This is the steakhouse that was in the movie "Big" with Tom hanks. I've lived in this neighborhood for all my life and just went for the first time. I regret not coming here before. My god the food was amazing and service superb. Friendly and accommodating. The bacon appetizer was delicious with a small salad which they split for us at serving cause they knew we were sharing. Again, great service.
We got the chateaubriand medium. Great sear and moist meat. And then came the sides, goose fat potatoes was awesome, creamed spinach with truffle oil. Speechless.
Then we ended It with their special chocolate cake which is I think 12-14 layers and every bite delicious. I took that home to have with milk.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat staffVery accommodating staff! It was our first time there and we were stuffed from dinner, but they brought us complementary cheesecake anyway!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good steakTried the Filet Mignon, with baked potatoes. Best meat I have ever had.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the moment we walkedFrom the moment we walked in, our host, Jim, was extremely kind and attentive. We were seated right away. Our server, Aaron, tended to our every need and was accommodating. The rest of the staff was also extremely accommodating. The food was out of this world and the desserts were incredible. Everyone there made a birthday celebration extra special! The Strip House has become our #1 favorite restaurant in NYC!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI hadn't been to StriphouseI hadn't been to Striphouse in awhile and recently went for a 6 person business dinner. The service was good and the food was absolutely terrific! I shared the bone in filet, which was very generous and cooked perfectly. We tried all of the sides, and the corn with pancetta was a wonderful surprise. I can't wait to go back.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMStrip House - NY Strip best in townI took two of my close friends to Strip House, they were rocked from appetizers all the way throught dessert. Great food, service and ambiance. Not to mention a sampler shot of the chef's specialty soup was an amazing suprise.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seating arrangment forThe seating arrangment for 2 was a little cramped, other than that the evening was great.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic time.We went to celebrate my birthday and the food was exceptional. Our server was friendly but not intrusive, the atmosphere is sexy and fun. We loved our streak- cooked to perfection. Nothing beats that char! Can't wait to go again!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBig steakhouse in GreenwichBig steakhouse in Greenwich Village. Top notch service from everyone. Steaks and fish were top notch delicious. Unforuntaely the place was very noisy. Management readily accommodated our request to be moved away from an adjacent party table.DETAILS: Fish was delicious; I was told the filet mignon was very good. Luscious deserts too. For 4 people ordering wine, steak or fish, two side orders of veggies for the table, a shared desert, and coffee, total tab per person averaged $90.00 including tip. Unfortunately the restaurant was extremely noisy. We asked to be moved to a quieter table and that was immediately accommodated. Even with a long queue at the bar, management kept adjacent tables open for quite awhile. Kudos for that too4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff seemed to rush youThe staff seemed to rush you through your meal. We had a 6:30pm reservation. We had drinks, appetizers and our meal and out the door by 7:20pm. For the price of the meal you should be able to take your time and enjoy it.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways consistent with theAlways consistent with the preparation of the food.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the warm and livelyLoved the warm and lively atmosphere, great steaks, and superb service. Everything was great. Will definitely go again.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA restaurant worth traveling toStrip House is a fantastic steak house on many levels. It's a great spot to meet a group of guys but also would work as a very nice date. It's individual steaks vs the steak for 3 where you have to agree on temperature, etc. Downtown, nice servie, broad menu even if someone were to go to steak restaurant and want fish. It's a solid.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! I have been toExcellent! I have been to the Striphouse on numerous visits to NY and the quality is always excellent! the garlic bread is fenomenal, the steaks are seared to perfection and the chocolate cake humongous ! but I especially recommend the barmaid who knew how to mix the Vesper (the original James Bond drink) and even had Lillet4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy rib eye was amazing andMy rib eye was amazing and flavorful. My husband'd strip steak was cooked well, but needed more flavor. The ripped potato was AMAZING! Great signature drinks. Our waiter was incredible. I almost wish the service was a little slower. We felt a bit rushed, as the courses came out so quickly.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious steak and sides-Delicious steak and sides- just whatbyou'd expect from a top NYC steak house- with prices to match!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMYou'd have to travel a veryYou'd have to travel a very long way to find a better steak than at the Striphouse!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter was amazing.
