A word from Strip House
A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake.

Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

Visit our second NYC location, the new Strip House Midtown at 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, or on the Las Vegas Strip at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Much better steak houses in NYC that I can overspend at. I am very surprised that they are still in business. As hard as I tried I could not continue eating my very salty prime aged rib-eye along with the over salted whipped potatoes and gummy creamed spinach. Been to all the top steak houses and this was the worst compared to Peter Lugers, Mortons, Gallapghers, Rutrh Chris , Old Homestead and Smith and Wollensky. Yuk!!!!

  • They don't know medium from medium-rare
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 11/21/2014
This is the second time I've been here. One time with a group of friends, this time with family. Both times I've asked for my rib eye to be done medium and both times I got medium rare. The first time I actually sent it back to have it redone. This time I ordered the grass fed dry aged rib eye and it was very rare in the center. I couldn't be bothered with sending it back this time. I've eaten at several steak houses and cook myself and for a steakhouse to get this wrong, twice, on two separate occasions, doesn't speak well for the Chef. The sides were good, especially the potato puree. We had a fresh seafood platter for appetizer, also very good. Dessert was done well. Our waiter didn't smile once the entire time, which really affected my wife more than me, but it possibly showed a level of job dissatisfaction. Never once did he ask if we enjoyed our meal. Overall I will not be going back to the Strip House and would not recommend it to anyone.

striphouse's spin on the classic new york steak is the "boudoir." the setting is dark and red, tufted cushions with matching wallpaper. as far as the steak goes, it's an average steak, but the sides are really something. i love the creamed spinach with truffles.

I went here for my birthday dinner with my family from out of town. The food and service was amazing. Our server was so nice and friendly and did everything he could to make sure we had a special bday dinner - he even brought out a dessert for us. My parents are extremely picky (everything in NYC is too small, too overpriced) and this is the first restaurant I've taken them to which they said they loved. Strip House is my favorite steak place in NYC.

Not as good as it once was. The filet mignon seemed pre-cooked. The crisp goose fat potatoes no longer tasted or looked like the famous potatoes at L'Ami Louis in Paris. They seemed encrusted with crumbs for crispness. The broccolini had a delicious bearnaise sauce that helped the filet mignon immensely. The bread basket is sadly diminished to two pretzel rolls and an unidentifiable bread...used to be three or four choices and delicious crackers.

I had been to the Strip House 44th Street location before. The noise in the 12 Street location was louder & more difficult to speak with my guests. Tables were really close together. I shared the Porterhouse with one of my guests and I felt the portion was small compared to what my other guests had in a NY Strip and stand alone Filet for the price. The price paid for the Porter House didn't warrant the small portion served and then shared between two people. Mind you, this was the only way to order the Porter House. The potato dish was good, but again I found it a small portion for the price paid. The food was very good and my only observation is what is listed above.

We dined here for our 30th anniversary, and it was the perfect place. The atmosphere was romantic and the food was miles above expected. But the best? It was our waiter, John. He was perfectly attentive and friendly. And when he learned it was our anniversary, he presented us with cheesecake and champagne! He was genuinely the best waiter we've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Go to this restaurant. Expect a super night. Ask for John.

Atmosphere and decor is beautiful, romantic, and relaxing. They hit it perfectly on all counts. It's everything that is missing from restaurants these days. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I chose Strip House to celebrate our anniversary and it was truly a memorable experience. Not only was the service incredible, but the ambiance was just perfect for a romantic, quiet meal and the food was delicious! Of course, the steaks were amazing, but we also enjoyed the Duck Fat Potatoes and the Truffle Creamed Spinach. We were too full for dessert, but the cakes our neighbors were enjoying looked out of this world and we can't wait to return some day soon to try them for ourselves.

I have been to Strip House numerous times, and have never been disappointed in the steak. It continues to be my favorite steak restaurant in the city. There were four of us and we each had a different cut of meat-each piece was delicious, and cooked perfectly. We shared a seafood tower which had enough variety to please everyone. The service was attentive without being overbearing. All-in-all, a terrific steak dinner.

The porter steak and the spinach and broccoli were of very good quality. However the quantity of meat is significant and the plates are cold so the meat becomes cold which is a big pity and not good value for the money. We asked the waitress to inform the chef and manager she told us That that is the way it is. That part is disappointing . There are many solutions to that problem.

While this is probably "one of the places to be" I found the décor to be a little cheap feeling and the food to be underwhelming. With the prices what they are and the reputation of the restaurant, I expected a great deal more from it. New Yorkers must love it though as the place was very busy.

Both my husband and I had the filet mignon and both were cooked perfectly. I had the goose fat potatoes which came looking like a hard dome/pudding shape. Not at all like the roast individual potatoes I expected. They were good though - just a surprise. My husband had what was possible the hottest (temp) jacket potato ever. Service is good, exactly how you would expect it to be in a high end steak restaurant. The tables are a little too packed together for my liking. I don't really want to hear the whole of the conversation on the table next to me, which was about 6 inches away from ours.... and there was no room to get out to use the bathroom without moving tables.

We had a table for 8 scheduled for 6. When we got stuck in traffic and bumped the reservation to 6:30, there was no issue with The Strip House, understandably it was still early. The last of our party did not arrive until 7;15, well after we had completed our salads. The stragler ordered his steak and it appeared at the same time as the rest of the table. This was VERY unexpected and very much appreciated! 7 of the 8 diners ordered the filet mignon, in varying sizes and raved over the beef. I ordered a lobster linguini and was pleased with the dish coming out of a kitchen that caters to beef. Very attentive staff, very friendly - highly recommended.

I looked up the top NYC steakhouses in Zagat and this place was on it...for a reason. The restaurant has a great Old New York feel. I didn't partake, but they had a huge wine list. Our table of four had three different cuts of steak and everyone loved theirs. We shared a few sides and each was perfection. We got there a little before 7pm and the place completely filled up while we were eating. The noise level rose as more people came in but I didn't find it too loud. It is pricey (our bill was around $300) but well worth it for the experience and delicious food. I will definitely go back!
