A word from Strip House
A sultry steakhouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village where old-world glamour meets modern style and sophistication. Experience the combination of charred cuts perfectly paired with decadent sides, such as Truffle Creamed Spinach and Goose Fat Potatoes. And be sure to save room for the famed 24-Layer Chocolate Cake.

Named a top steakhouse by Zagat and awarded four stars by Forbes, the namesake cut of aged beef isn't the only work of art to marvel upon...just take a look at the walls and tell us you don’t agree. Black and white vintage photos of bordello girls from the original 1900’s Studio Manasse collection reference an era of decadence and seduction.

Visit our second NYC location, the new Strip House Midtown at 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, or on the Las Vegas Strip at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Diner Reviews
  • "I went there with my BF for romantic dinner and I had everything that I wanted to have. Delicious food(we ordered bone-in dry-aged rib eye, bacon, steamed green beans and broccoli), lovely atmosphere that was quite casual but still romantic. Our server was helping us out very well and attentive not being just flattering for getting tipped generously. We couldn't help but tipping him very well. I would recommend this place to my people in New York City."

  • "This is def one of my go-to's when it comes to steak in the city. Between the dimly lit room reminiscent of an old school bordello to the impeccable service and the amazing food, SH is guaranteed to provide you with a great meal every time. I bring clients here all the time. They love the food and the ambiance. Good for groups as well and the staff is extremely accommodating. Trust me. Go. You will love it."

  • "My only complaint was that it was a quick dinner. Things came out quick which is good if your hungry but not good if your out on an anniversary dinner. Lol also, it does have a limited menu but the food is very good."

Everything was as usual THE BEST OF THE BEST, ASMA was our server and what more can I say but AWESOME !!! She is simply what makes the experience of the STRIP HOUSE wonderful, the food was outrageous the drinks were sublime and the desert was top-notch!!!"

  • "A dinner involving five ingredients (Bloody Mary, steak, corn, spinach, coffee), and three of them had to be sent back. The cocktail had so much hot sauce in it it was undrinkable (and Strip House used to make the best Bloody in town), the steak was completely overcooked (as in, gray), and the coffee was stewed and burnt from having sat on a heating element for, I'm guessing, at least an hour. At these prices, those mistakes are unforgivable. Won't be back."

  • "We went to the Strip House on Sunday Night. It was within a quick walk of our hotel. The restaurant was bustling with casual diners of younger folks. We had eaten a lot all weekend so I forewarned the waitress that this was not going to be her biggest meal served. She was very nice and was completely into whatever we wanted to do. I had delicious shrimp in my shrimp cocktail. But, at the Strip House you eat beef. My husband had a nice filet. He said it was delicious. Overall, I would definitely go back to the Strip House with my "group" for dinner. To me it was the perfect place to take six or eight diners."

  • "Went on a Monday night, 7pm for a friend's birthday dinner. Place was already buzzing. We were seated right away. Waiter was great. He gave us specific info on size of sides (large - can definitely be shared!). Crab cakes app was great, followed by mouth watering filet and we all shared brownie and ice cream for dessert. Your wallet definitely takes a hit, but it was worth it!"

  • "I booked for groups and it's perfect. I had 3 B'days there but the last two times I have been takes into something I don't like. My fault indeed still don't like the pushy weighter Food is good. Service to pushy Next year I will find something else"

  • "The spinach still is unbeatable, even though it's a steak house it would be worth to eat there just for the spinach as well. However the Bone-In New York Strip, the Porterhouse or the Ribeye accompany the spinach very well. If you start with a seafood plateau and roundup everything with the baked Alaska or the Chocolate Cake, the chances are big, you'll remember the dinner for quite some time :-)"

  • "I was looking for a restaurant that was close to Irving Plaza & the Strip House didn't disappoint. The steak was cooked perfect and was delicious. Our waiter Paco was the best. A great dinner overall & would love to go back."

  • "Since my first trip to New York years ago, this is the place for Steak when I am in town. I like the scene, the atmosphere. I never had to wait more than 10mins for my table (the bar or the lounge like area is very nice), however in most cases the table was ready when I came. Wine list is not overprized (compared to other steakhouses in the city) which also makes it a good choice. A little downside is the noise level sometimes, in particular if you have the pleasure to sit next to a table of 8 (guys). And the temperature in the restaurant is for my sense a bit cold, but that might have to do with the fact that I am European :-). Nevertheless, it will continue to be my first choice for Steak in NYC, and I look forward to my next stay."

  • "The food was impeccable and the service was wonderful and very attentive. I ordered the blackened tuna steak and my boyfriend got the bone in filet minion. Best tuna steak I have every had. Each dish was so flavorful! They called to confirm my reservation the morning I and read my comment about it being my boyfriend'a birthday (most places ignore your comment section). I was prepared to pay for the surprise dessert but they informed me that it was going to be a complimentary dessert which I was excited about considering the prices. Although the meal was pricy, you get what you pay for. Overall We had a great experience"

  • "Went for my son's birthday, which I told them upon confirming the reservation. Wasn't too pleased with where we were seated, in the bar area, table kind of small for steak dinners for 4. Not wanting to upset the mood, we remained. Lobster cocktail, crab cakes were delicious. Steaks oth porter house and ribeye with bone in , sliced also good. Cooked as requested. Special potatoes also delic. The 24 layer chocolate cake was awesome. All in all a great dinner, even with the not-so-wonderful table. Not sure Id return tho, because it isn't Luger's and if I want a steak, just like this, that's where I go."

  • "Over all this was a nice place with good food. Service is prompt and friendly. It was notable in that this is the location where Asti's used to be and we enjoyed going there when we lived in Manhattan 30 years ago. The photos of all the famous people are still here! Prices seem reasonable for Manhattan. My only complaint is that we ordered the porterhouse for two and requested it medium. It was presented nicely but was rare. Even slightly cool in the middle. Our server quickly sent it back to have it brought to the correct temperature. The steak was returned in a reasonable time frame but was still slightly rare. I did not want to complain again so we ate it anyway."

  • "The reviews were terrific so we gave it a try. My husband loved his steak, twice baked potato, and tomato goat cheese salad. My steak had a bit too much pepper. Service was off overall."

  • "The food here is excellent, the steaks is cooked to perfection and the interior in the resturant is a little dark and full of leather just like a steakhouse should be."

  • "Excellent food and spot on service, as always. I'd definitely go back."

  • "Had the porterhouse for 2, the black truffle creamed spinach and the crispy goose fat potatoes. Highly recommended!! And the service was great too. Will go back again."

  • "Our meal started with a round of well-crafted cocktails. We ordered a bottle of wine for the meal and our waiter steered us toward another selection that was $15 less expensive! The bacon appetizer was accompanied with a beautifully dressed salad. The table enjoyed the porterhouse for two and a NY strip steak. The steaks were exceptional and easily the stars of the show. The creamed spinach was delicious and the goose fat potatoes came in an almost egg-like shape - very cool and tasty, too. The waiter brought out creamed corn as well and I'm so glad he did! We finished the meal with their famous chocolate cake. One order was so big we hardly made a dent. I can't wait to go back!"

  • "I've been to a few of the more well known steakhouses in the city and Brooklyn now, and the NY strip steak was the best steak I've ever had. It was extremely refreshing to find a place that actually gets desired temperature right, and the seasoning was perfect."

  • "Would definitely go to Strip House again for a special occasion. Everything from the rolls to the steak was delicious. Would go only occasionally because it is very expensive. Over $200 for two people and we did not drink alcohol. The only complaint was a slight odor to the restaurant when we walked in like mildew. The other thing was the hostess asked me to remove my hat. It was not a baseball cap, but a very nice summer hat. Have gone to other steakhouses in Manhattan and this one was much better. Loved the ambiance, red, great vintage photos on the wall, low lighting."

  • "Went for a quarterly dinner with my two closest business colleagues. Once seated at the table, everything was excellent. The wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive without any sense of hovering. The steaks were terrific and the sides, (an afterthought at many places), were every bit as enjoyable as the main dishes. Two quibbles, though: (1) I don't understand why reception insisted that the entire party (of 3) arrive before we were seated, and (2) bar prices were over-the-top (even for a good Manhattan steakhouse). In the end, I would recommend, (just get there with the entire party in tow for immediate seating and to avoid the bar)."

  • "I was disappointed in the food quality on this particular night. Steaks and most of the side dishes were overcooked and lacked flavor other than being slightly over salted. My past experiences were better. Not sure if this was a one-off evening or if something at the restauarant has changed."

  • "we decided to come to this place on a sunday evening instead of saturday and we have to say it is worth coming here. The noise level was totally fine, the food was tasty and the portions not to small and the meat just fantastic. It has its price but you get great price/value. Go and enjoy an evening in a good atmosphere and nice food."

  • "You can't go wrong here. It's a little pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. It was our first time at the restaurant so they brought out a complimentary cheesecake after we were done with our entrees. The filet mignon was amazing! Melts in your mouth. Everything about this meal was excellent, from start to finish."

  • "Wanted a spot I could get great food and talk without the noise being to much. The place has a great feel with that experience you look for when dining. The steak was cooked to perfection and the wine we had topped it off. The best part of the experience was we never felt like we were being rushed on a busy Friday night. The server wasn't continously over top of us but check in on us enough that we felt cared to. Last the price of the meal for two and a bottle of wine was fair. I will def be back"

  • "Service robotic & boring. Food mediocre. Seated next to a threesome when entire restaurant empty. They got ketchup with their fries not me! and there was no salt or pepper on table (some restaurants do this for a reason not affectation. food over-salted by chef. Oh, and I dropped significantly more than $100 for a super salty badly trimmed supermarket steak, salty fries (w no ketchup) and a serving of over-buttered broccoli. No alcohol - just sparkling water! (last interesting comment: the bread bowl was placed on the table and after consuming one piece - BEFORE ordering lunch - the busboy started to remove the bowl, simultaneously asking, "Are you finished with this?". Curiouser and curiouser..."

  • "I must admit the quality of both the food and service has dropped considerably. The meat is hardly prime and was tough, and filled with gristle. The outside was over salted and burnt (rather than crusted) and was a far cry from the medium rare I ordered. The bread was stale and not what it should have been for a Friday night at the height of the dinner rush. On top of the food the waitress and busers were pushy clearing food and beverages before they were finished, and on top of this the waitress dropped a knife covered in chocolate cake from the table next to mine down my arm, she did apologize but could care less at my overall satisfaction. As someone who frequents this restaurant I was very disappointed in my experience."
