Strip House MidtownBest dinner ever! Our experience could not have been better. Great food, drink and staff! Wonderful bartender! Loved this place and we will return before we have to head home to LA! Thank you for a most enjoyable evening!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat addition to midtown.Strip house has probably one of the best steak houses in nyc! The food and service was outstanding. This restaurant blows stk and Delfriscos out of the box!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodLoved the bone in filet and they have the best creamed spinach in the city. I have always been impressed with their steaks and look forward to dining here again. Del frisco's would be the only other steak house in the city that I find comparable.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Pre-TheaterGood steaks, good lobster, great service. Wait staff is attentive but never rushes. Good location for theater, too. If you order their special chocolate cake, be sure there are at LEAST 4 of you to eat it. It's a whopper!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat, high quality steakgreat, high quality steak house, terrific service. Convenient to theater district.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, not greatOrdered the ribeye for 2, but unfortunately the steak wasn't cooked the way we requested it even though the waiter and I spoke extensively about it. The steak was seasoned well and had a nice char on the outside but the steak got cold quickly. Maybe Strip House should think about providing warm dishes or bringing the steak out on a sizzling plate.
The side dishes were pretty good but I've had better. The creamed spinach was good but also got cold quickly.
The waiter came by the table often but seemed like he was doing the bare minimum.
Very cramped inside. Had to sit next to a couple that was making out during their entire dinner.
Strip House is a beautiful restaurant and is a safe bet to go to, but if I'm paying $100+ pp, I want better.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSteak not quite up to lastSteak not quite up to last time but still very good. Service always outstanding at BR Guest restaurants. Superb wines by the glass.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMRed lightThe experience was enjoyable, little pricy but food and service was excellent.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWow!!Possibly my favorite restaurant!!! The strip steak was the best I've ver had and the lobster linguine was out of this world!! Drinks great. Service was exceptionally amazing. Atmosphere was very contemporary. Definitely definitely recommend!!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit. This was our first visit. We are trying new (to us) restaurants. We were going to the theatre and it was close. Making the reservation was easy and we were impressed they called to confirmed. The day of our visit we were running late for our reservation. We called the restaurant and they were very accommodating and told us "no problem".
We arrived and were promptly seated in a spacious booth. We ordered shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, Filet Mignon, rib eye, Strip House potatoes, asparagus and sautéed mushrooms. EVERYTHING was great. I have Filet Mignon frequently and this was the best ever. The Strip House potatoes were also excellent - and very different. And the cheesecake was great ! Great, but you do pay for it.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat midtown spotMy wife and I ate here on a holiday weekend and had a wonderful meal . We will be back again.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest overall dining experience EVERFrom arrival it was clear that we had made a great choice! We were swiftly taken to our booth which was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant is beautiful; chandeliers, cushioned red walls with burlesque pics on the wall. Very classy and chic. Really lovely ambience. Fantastic service, one of the waiters even offered to take a pic of us both. Food was amazing with great cuts of steak, cooked beautifully, chargrilled on outside but still soft and succulent. Only downside was the food was a tad on the salty side. Tips: passionfruit cosmopolitans and the 24 layer chocolate cake are a MUST!! Overall this was without a doubt the best dining experience we have ever had, we will most certainly be back on our return to NYC xx5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGuys tripExceptional service. Highly recommend to anyone. Not kid friendly, but otherwise, great. Spend extra on the sides. Each are good, but make sure to try the the creamed corn and the bacon appetizer. Both make the meal!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!!!Second dining experience in the StripHouse family, loved both and plan on going a lot more!!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - restaurant with a buzzWe all ordered different steaks which were all very good. We were brought over a small cup of soup on the house, which was fabulous. The salad and desserts were nice as well. Enjoyed the Sinsky wine. Nice ambiance. Just a fun place with very nice food.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMVery obligingThe staff was so friendly, so obliging. Outstanding service. Excellent food!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steakHad the kosher ribeye. It was perfect. The service was exceptional. None of the normal New York steakhouse attitude you find at some of the older steakhouses. This is my new favorite steak in midtown. You must try the bacon app. Words don't do it justice. Truffled cream spinach!!!!! Goose fat potatoes!!! Not a place for watching your calories but worth the extra treadmill time5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNow This is ServiceWe loved the Strip House on 12th St, so we thought we'd try this new location. One thing I notice that was different from the original was the female waiters. We had one and she was just fantastic. You want good food and excellent service, this is your place. I had crab cakes and caesar salad that was wonderful. My b/f had the filet mignon and it was melt in your mouth good. We ordered a banana dessert that was wonderful. But the best part was the manager made it a point to come over to our table and check on us, then sent a nice slice of cheesecake. It was the best cheesecake I have had in NYC. It's a bit expensive, but what isn't! Side dishes are generous (try the duck fat potatoes) and yummy. I loved the creamed corn. We will be back!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat New York dining experience!Have been to Striphouse several times , even ate there on Thanksgiving. Staff always gives excellent suggestions and the food is always delicious. Their meat selection definitely lives up to expectations! They also have great signature drinks and cocktails (their Manhattan is the best I've ever had). Eye-catching decor (love the red vinyl upholstered walls!) This will be one of my regular haunts when I am in the city.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMbest steak everHad the best steak ever, and I'm a steak lover! Went with a large group and we tried almost all the sides - hard to decide which one was best! only thing i didn't absolutely love was the salad, but really does that even matter with a steak like that? also tried several desserts - brownie sundae (excellent!) and cheesecake were my favs5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper accommodating!Went there with a group of 9 people to celebrate a special birthday. We had a lot of special requests for seating, surprises, cake and they got it all done with a smile and time to spare before our broadway show. Food was great and interior of restaurant was beautiful and modern with a sexy old world flare. Will definitely be coming back for another occasion or a just because night out.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMgoodhad a very late dinner so I can't comment on how crowded it normally is. friendly staff. porterhouse was great. would recconmend to a friend.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNY's BEST STEAKThis location and the original downtown are the best steak houses in NYC, hands down!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SteaksThe place has great steaks. I had a bone-in filet that was on the specials. Probably one of the best steaks I had. Great cut of meat, tender, and with a nice char on the outside and perfect cook on the inside. Service was good - but not exceptional. A little more attention from the staff would have made it a perfect meal. Restaurant is comfortable decorated, so its size doesn't feel overbearing.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNeeded a place for a businessNeeded a place for a business lunch. Loved the antique decor and the service was very good. The lunch menu had a big selection. I opted for the chopped salad which was great and the lobster roll. It seemed a bit small but maybe that was because it came cut into two. While it wasn't the best loster roll I've ever had, it was definitely one of the better ones around town.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent,a bitThe food was excellent,a bit pricey however. The waitress was outstanding and even knew the differences in all of their offered tequilas.I love that the meat is hormone free.
KW5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe first time at the uptownThe first time at the uptown branch. Also the first time since the BR Guest group took over. Definitely a major improvement over previous visits downtown. Much larger menu and superb porterhouse. Right up there with Lugers and the best in the city. Amazing selection of top wines by the glass and as always that great BR Guest service. A treat for the carnivores in midtown.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Strip House (Midtown)I went to Strip House (Midtown) for the first time to celebrate a birthday and everything from start to finish was perfect. The staff were all very attentive, friendly, and dispensed great advice regarding the menu. The manager even came over several times to check-in to see how everything was. The food was absolutely delicious-- every dish was done to perfection, especially the porterhouse steak for two. We ordered the special spicy tuna tartar, the special soft shell crab, and the signature slab bacon dish to start. I ordered the special boneless dry rub rib-eye and the porterhouse for two for the table. We concluded with the creme brulee and was offered a classic NY cheesecake complimentary of the restaurant in honor of the birthday5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was oustanding, getsFood was oustanding, gets a little loud upstairs and hard to hear others in your group the larger the group gets.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceVery welcoming -- friendly service from everyone we encountered. Steak was perfect--great sear. Strip House potatoes--excellent. Hollandaise worked really well on the steak. Nice place, great location on W. 44th and friendly, accurate service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHome RunFor several years now our group of 4 carnivores have been meeting for "steak night" every few months. We've tried all the big names, the local legends, the corporate chains etc. We've been to the original Strip House downtown, which was pretty good. On a whim we decided to try the Midtown location. Service was first rate! All steaks were spot on perfect (a rarity for most steakhouses). The bacon appetizer was awesome! Caesar salad & tomato salad were very good. Creamed spinach and French fries were just the right accompaniment. All staff from the host/hostess to the bartenders, to the wait staff were very pleasant. We went in not expecting much, but we ended up having one of our best steakhouse experiences yet, and that's saying something!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWill Try AgainThe service was really disappointing in the beginning. We sat down and were instantly refreshed with water and a bread basket, but the waitress did not come over for some time. I really wanted a drink and we had completely finished a serving a bread and one refill of water before she came over to our table to greet us and bring menus. Instead, she went to a 4-top that was seated after us. I must say, that once she punched in our drinks and food everything went swimmingly. The martinis were delicious as was the wine. The Chilean sea bass was so tasty and an impressive portion. The green hue of the jalapeno potatoes was a little disconcerting, but it tasted great. The Strip House chocolate cake is delectable and shouldn't be passed up.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMthe house Chocolate cake portionthe house Chocolate cake portion is sooooooo big, 4 people can share it.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceI love the fact that the food is exceptional. The staff addresses me by name and makes approipiate recommendations based on my taste. Pricy and worth it!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Service & Excellent FoodI was treated with excellent food and wine. Tuna tartare was really good and the quality of the NY Strip steak was also excellent. I was even treated with a desert on the house as it was my first time at the restaurant - Thank you. My waiter was really good and did a great job on helping me with my choice of wine. Highly recommendable place to go - and I clearly preferred this over my visit to Smith & Wollensky the day before.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food. Bone-in filetGreat Food. Bone-in filet was fantastic. Waiter was a pro. Will go to again soon.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Dining ExperienceGreat service and food. The restaurant followed up with me via email the next day which is a major plus.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and experience.Great food and experience. Tough to decide whether the bone-in filet or million layer chocolate cake was the highlight.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the Strip House. II love the Strip House. I love the ambiance and I also love how it is great for romance and also great for group dining. We were there for romance this time. It was our anniversary. Once the staff overheard that, they brought over glasses of champagne. They really took care of us. I cannot speak more highly about the staff there. From our waiter, to the maitre'd and absolutely everyone else. We had a fabulous time. They helped make our anniversary a very special one.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I go so muchMy husband and I go so much that I wish I could get frequent diner miles! Great place...
Monica & Rich Covello4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMad Men meets steakNot sure when it opened as we are tourists, but appeared to be newer restaurant with old-school NY Steakhouse feel. Dark, energetic and filled with Manhattan expense account diners. Steak and sides were fantastic, service was very accommodating, Banquet booth seating is the finishing touch.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of midtown's finest.Outstanding food, service and ambience. No downside to this fine restaurant.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThey don't honor reservationsStrip House got off to a bad start. We arrived about 15 minutes early for an 8 pm reservation and they still didnt seat us until 8:30. Typically when that happens the maitre d will offer to take care of the bar tab (which in this case was just one drink for each of the two of us) but when a table was finally available the host told us to settle up and he would show us to our table. During our lengthy wait we saw other people arrive and go straight to their table and he told us he had us waiting because he wanted us to have a great table. When we sat down we weren't even in a booth, just a regular table in the middle of the upstairs area. That marred the rest of the experience for us which otherwise we have been good.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMediocreFood was great, drinks were very bad! Ugh, they couldn't mix a proper cosmopolitan so I opted for vodka and seven-up. Very bad drinks!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTheir wine list is huge. ItTheir wine list is huge. It was our weeding aniversary and we had a Muga reserva which is my favorite wine from Spain. The chateaubriand beef was spectacular and all the experience was awesome. It is a place to go at night and whitout children of course.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMsteaks were very good... excellentsteaks were very good... excellent selection, quality, and preparation. service was very good. felt like what a "traditional" non-chain steak house should feel like. decent wine selection and prices were expected.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been here severalWe have been here several times and every time the food and service are wonderful.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely experience, will be backMy extended family of six had a fab meal at Strip House on a Sunday evening in midtown after a show. The service was attentive, the staff were friendly, the chef was amazing, and the steaks were to die for. yummmmmm4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Strip & Lobster BisqueBy far the best strip in the city and the best lobster bisque i have ever had.I have been a decade-plus customer of the Village location and have been pleasantly surprised by this new midtown one. Although the vibe is somewhat different, the food remains quality and has offered me a midtown option for work-related dinners during the week. The question is, will I be trying there Las Vegas location when I am there next week???4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeVery nice place food was great! Steak was cooked perfect but was a little salty but other than that everything was great! staff was courteous!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
