  • "The food was tasty and well presented, but not generous enough portions for the high prices. The 40 oz steak was over the top expensive and the majority of the 40 oz was a huge Fred Flintstone like bone. We dined with 8 people, 2 shared an appetizer and meal, only 6 were drinking alcohol and ordered 3 bottles of wine- with gratuity the bill was at $1200.00. Honestly, not enough meat for the price. Also, my rib eye, was cooked to order, but very tough and had too much grizzle in the meat. Sorry, I can't say I'd go back......."

  • "If you want to be spoiled in every way, get to Strip House. We were a table for 2 in a secluded booth with a view over the rest of the restaurant. We could not have eaten better or received better service. The ambiance is sultry cool with pictures of semi-clad ladies and red leather abounding. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and never missed a beat (thanks Eddie!). We ate scallops for starters and then shared an amazing and perfectly crusted 16oz steak with a bunch of sides. Please do yourselves a favor and do not leave without trying the house specialty potato gratin and the hash cooked in duck fat, both of which make my mouth water now, thinking about it weeks after eating it. Highly recommend!"

  • "The waiter was very good and very experienced. However, there was no cost transparency to the specials. And when modifying the specials based on ingredients from other specials (e.g., truffles), I felt the waiter pushed for extremely costly items (Seafood App and Truffles at $150 per some weight). This impacted my experience and those with me negatively. I would probably not go back for this reason alone. Had the food been so out of this world with cost transparency even though expensive, I'd still go. For the price, I would recommend Bouley!"

  • "We have dined at some of the best steak places in the country. There is something about the crust for their porterhouse that makes this place our favorite. This is coming from a family that raises cattle and grew up eating the finest cuts of meat. The atmosphere was great. The drinks were lovely. The sides were hearty and tasty. What more would we want?"

It was so much better than 'Wolfgangs'!!!! If you like great steaks and an exelent sevice than you have to go the Striphouse Midtown. A very special thanks to our friend from Portugal!!!   • "The quality of steak in all steakhouses varies from time to time. This is probably due to the scarcity of top prime grade meat. The Striip House Midtown got it perfect this time , Superb porterhouse, cooked exactly as requested. Very fresh seafood platter to start as well. Great meal."

  • "I picked Strip House only because it was a steakhouse in the Times Square area. I really wanted Peter Lugers but was it was a risk to get a seating in Brooklyn, eat, and then get through traffic to make it to the 8pm curtain. The service was EXCELLENT. Empty dishes were taken away and I didn't see it happen. Kept the beverage ordering to one because of the high prices and small quantity. I didn't find the portions of the food was fit for what I paid. The porterhouse steak for two ($55 per person) looked like it was for one. Ordered it medium well. Got in on the more rare side. 24 layer cake was great."

  • "I usually hit up the downtown location, but I wanted to try the midtown one because it is closer to my office. I met my wife at the bar for a cocktail first. The Manhattan was delicious! We lingered at the bar past our reservation time, but they didn't seem to care and sat us down as soon as we were ready. Pleasant and smooth service with delicious steaks and sides. I will definitely bring work clients here in the future. This is a great addition to the crowded midtown steakhouse scene."

  • "I had a great time entertaining business clients. The bar had a great crowd but not a lot of open stools so they sat us down at the table even though not everyone from the group had arrived. Some restaurants won't do this, so I thought that was nice. We were with some out of town clients and definitely taking our time, but the service wasn't pushy at all. We got some apps with a great shellfish display, and then shared a porterhouse and a double ribeye. All the steaks were cooked perfectly. The busboy who served the food even served it out to us instead of just plopping the big plates down in the center. Nice touch. Check out Strip House when you are in midtown. Has a more personal touch than some of the other big box steakhouses."

  • "There is nothing like a NYC steakhouse, and I try to check out different ones as much as possible. The new (a year maybe?) Strip House in midtown exceeded my expectations. We were seated immediately by a gracious hostess, who even pulled out our chairs. They didn't give us menus when we first sat down, but the server was there immediately with them and to make us feel completely at ease. It actually was a great feeling, that they were in control and going to take great care of us. The tower of chilled shellfish was exceptional, and the porterhouse for two was delicious. The manager was also incredibly helpful in selecting a bottle of wine for us. Pricing on the wine list was good for a midtown steakhouse. Great times!!"

  • "Let's be honest, you can debate all day which steakhouse in the city has the best meat, but at the end of the day any chop shop worth it's weight is going to generally have high quality beef. What really makes the difference is service. My server at Strip House was the best I can remember having in a long time at a steak house. Polished and informative, this is what made the meal memorable. Some people just expect the servers at steak houses to be gruff, but not at Strip House. Go for the meat (delicious char), but go back for the service."

  • "The food, as always, was excellent & our server was absolutely wonderful. A member of our group wanted St. Germain as one of the ingredients in a cocktail, but didn't know what to order. We asked our server, Eddy, for a recommendation and he came back with a scruptious surprise. I was, however, disappointed that another member of the waitstaff got our take away bags mixed up. Fortunately, before our group went our separate ways, we noticed the mix up and was able to correct it."

  • "Took my fiancé here right after we got engaged on top of the Empire State Building last month. The food, ambiance and service was great - as always. I must say, we were both a little on auto-pilot because we were enjoying the moment of being engaged, so I honestly can't remember my NY strip very well, haha. But, overall Strip House is STILL one of our favorite steakhouses in Manhattan. I had alerted the restaurant beforehand that we were coming to celebrate a special occasion. A classy move to bring us a warm double chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, compliments of the restaurant. We will go back, and back, and back..."

  • "I can't say enough about my first experience here. I haven't been to that many steakhouses in NYC, but I can't imagine finding a better one than this. There are tables on the second floor that overlook the bar area, and if you are lucky enough to get one of these you will have a great view of the action throughout the night. The server was a true professional and even the busboys seemed to understand elegant styles of service. The ribeye with the bone was unreal, and the bone in filet mignon was something I had never heard of, but it was was awesome. Sides were great. Try the creamed corn. I'll be back."

  • "Quality of steak was exceptional, but lacked just a tad in its flavor. The roasted bacon is to die for. The dessert was probably the highlight of the meal. We ordered the Banana Tart and Baked Alaska. It was a little difficult to communicate with the bussing staff. For example, after we finished our sparkling water and the bottle was taken from the table, moments later, a busboy came and topped off our sparkling waters with tap water although we told them no. It was busy, loud and I don't think they spoke English very well and my guests were Brazilian. The staff was too eager to fill our glasses and did not seem to think or care to ask what we wanted."

  • "We were seated upstairs- it was overly loud and the tables were cramped together to the point where staff had to squeeze by you. Server was helpful but she didn't seem to enjoy her job all that much. Steaks were OK but all came with an overwhelming peppercorn coating. Tuna tartar app was brutal, tasted like it had been made a day ago and stored in a fridge. Second and last visit for me. Original Strip House much better IMO."
